I am starting this thread in anticipation of tonight’s episode.
Is this a repeat? Just going by the title, didn’t they already do a re-prom?
No, I’m fairly certain that this is a new one. I sure don’t remember a similar episode.
Not too bad.
Nice to see Emily (Raj’s girlfriend) again. And the second cousin Howard lost his virginity to was kind of cute.
Sheldon admitting he loved Amy was kind of anti-climactic.
Who else wants to know what song Howard and Debbie danced to at his prom? (Their “Song”)
‘Big Bang Theory’ Actress Laura Spencer on Emily’s Conflict With Penny, and Making it to Sheldon’s Couch
“anti-climactic”? Sure, we knew he loved her, but it was an epiphany for him.
I thought some of the Howard/Stuart stuff was amusing. It was good to see Emily again and Howard’s 2nd cousin was a surprise. The season, IMO, started off a bit shaky. Maybe the writers have gotten back on their stride. I wonder how many episodes were written before the cast signed their new contracts? Maybe somehow that effected the script quality?
Raj needs a new girlfriend. This chick is seriously messed up. Hating the Stuart/Howard storyline. Maybe just let Stuart fall down the elevator shaft already.
Could have done without the whole limo scene. Replace it with fun, non-creepy/douchey moments at the actual prom.
Liked Sheldon & Amy’s scene, and Penny & Leonard on the roof.
Here’s her tattoo in close-up.
I just remembered, I loved it when Bernie’s voice started getting higher and higher and then some neighbor’s dog started barking (as previously lampshaded*).
*Or would Chekov’s Gun be more appropriate if that could be expressed as a verb?
The show seems to be finding its stride again. The Sheldon-Amy scene was very well done. His confession of love and her reaction were perfect. Howard’s cousin was way too hot for Stuart. To be fair, blow-up dolls are way too hot for Stuart. Bernadette’s high pitched voice that sets off the neighbor dog was great. I agree, the limo scene was just a little over the edge creepy. I’m liking Penny’s pixie hair less every week.
That would be fun to know.
Meh. As acted, not quite messed up enough. She’s played a bit too self-aware of the reactions her creepy comments will get, as if she is doing it for effect and to yank chains.
It would be a bit more effective comedically if she was less aware of the effect it had (like Sheldon’s initially being unaware of his social inappropriateness) or she was more aware and slightly secretive of her creepy side … or conversely more enthusiastic about it. This sly angle, playing her sweet and enjoying getting the reaction, does not work as well. IMHO.
I can picture it being something silly, like Thomas Dolby’s “She Blinded Me With Science”.
Howard is too old for “My Oedipus Complex” by Kid Rock.
I’m glad that they have confirmed that Stuart and Debbie (Howard’s mother) are not romantically-entwined (as Howard has feared). I do wonder if his pairing with Howard’s cousin was intended as a one-time thing, or whether it might be ongoing.
I don’t know if I agree about the whole “she’s too hot for him” thing – I work at a university, and see hot girls with nerdy-looking guys quite often!
And I loved Bernadette’s dog-whistle voice. Hilarious!
Not a great episode, but not bad at all. Loving the new hair on Penny more every episode. Loved the comment from (was it Bernie or Amy?) that they expected Penny’s prom dress to be wadded up in the corner of a barn somewhere.
She’s “TV messed up.” In the real world, a Nightmare Before Christmas tattoo wouldn’t raise an eyebrow. I think the writers are still trying to “calibrate” how extreme she really is.
I don’t think that has really been ‘confirmed’ as when Debbie called Stuart didn’t hesitate to leave the prom for her.
I like Emily. To me, Bernadette and Amy have gotten a lot less interesting since they stopped being nerdy scientist types (yeah, I know they still are, but how often is it important to the plot anymore?) and became more focused on being “part of the girls.” At least Emily has some edge, and as a lover of things creepy and spooky, she kind of resonates with me.
