The Book of Boba Fett

I would have thought he would have leveraged the whole “survived the Sarlaac pit” thing to cement a reputation as the toughest SOB in the galaxy. But the whole theme of this season seems to be that everybody thinks he’s a wuss and he needs to keep proving himself.

You misremembered the quote. The exact phrase was “The sarlaac pit—that’s where I was trapped all those years ago.”

I must have missed the “ago,” then. Thanks for the clarification!

“I dated a Jawa once. They’re… very furry.”

I certainly wasn’t expecting an entire Din Djarin episode, but it’s definitely the best of the series so far. He goes through a whole arc in 40 minutes - he returns to his people, proves himself worthy of wielding the Darksaber, gets rejected by them anyway, has a personal low point when he has to fly commercial and surrender his weapons, gets offered an old hunk of garbage as a replacement for the Razor Crest, then restores it like it’s a vintage muscle car and takes it on a cruise (and gets hassled by our returning Space Cops along the way) and has new hope and a new job - as soon as he gets to give Grogu his present.

Considering that Din refers to his new ride as “wizard”, I’m going to choose to believe that his new N-1 is the same one Anakin flew during the Battle of Naboo.

Great episode, although it’s funny that so far the best episode of Boba Fett is an episode of The Mandalorian.

Where is Mando gonna put Grogu and his bounties in his new ship?

Droid slot was taken out, replaced by what appears to be a back seat encapsulated by a droid-shaped bubble.

Maybe there. Or maybe he’s bringing them in cold from now on.

That is definitely a more toyifiable ship than the razor crest.

It’s been a toy since Anakin flew it in 1999.

That was a Ringworld, yes?

The ringworld was awesome – glad to see Star Wars branch out with some cooler sci-fi settings. I hope they keep doing that, rather than setting 80% or whatever of their stories on Tattooine.

It reminded me somewhat of the Citadel in Mass Effect. I half expected the elevator music to start playing when he got into the lift.

Every time I see Amy Sedaris in this role, my brain keeps telling me it’s Tracey Ullman. It’s very Ullman.

I don’t get it. I’m half-way through and this is an episode of Mandalorian. Why didn’t they just release this as a bonus episode of Mando, like a special.

It feels 100% like they are not confident in Boba Fett, so they threw in a Mando episode.

I…guess that was good. I mean, The Mandalorian is a much better show, but I wasn’t expecting an episode of it to fully bump out Boba Fett.

Did Covid hit the Boba Fett show and they couldn’t use Temuera Morrison for an episode?

Newer toys are 1:12 scale, a bit larger than the old star wars/gi joe stuff used to be, something the size of the Razor Crest could never be practically made at that size but this one can be.

Back in June, articles spoke about how we should think of Book Of Boba Fett as Mandalorian season 2.5.

Complete with shadow squares. I wonder if they cleared it with Niven first.

“We know the show isn’t great so how about an episode of The Mandalorian?”

It IS the best ep of the season BUT, I wanna point out that the special effects budget was outlandish for this ep, so not only is it the best ep…its the best looking one.

First time I’ve seen nukes in Star Wars.

Probably much smaller than that. More of an orbital.
