THERE WILL BE OPEN SPOILERS ABOUT THE SHOWS AFTER THEY EACH AIR
PLEASE DO NOT POST OPEN SPOILERS ABOUT THE STORY FROM THE COMICS, ETC.
THANK YOU!
Normally I wait until a trailer is posted or a release date is announced until I start these threads; there should be some real information AND spectacle to share to start the discussion and get everyone anticipating what will come.
This time I was inspired to share with friends by simple text stories (some minor story elements discussed in these articles, eh):
Thanks Bort! I check every week or so but hadn’t looked since the start of the new year.
ETA: I do not like this new thing that Amazon is doing where they slice off parts of the story and make it available only as a semi-hard-to-find vignette. I’m not watching them; fuck you, Amazon. Get your clicks from someone else.
The tie ins of extended universe stuff are better than ever; “American Hero” is hilarious, the TV movie about The Deep was hilarious, and on and on.
Honestly I think the show’s as good as ever, but if I could make one small criticism, the show does tend to really slow down badly whenever we’re with The Boys in wherever their hideout/HQ is. It’s almost as if they don’t know where to go and just reset by going back there.
I love every single comic issue where a superhero spends the whole thing helping one suicidal person, so Homelander on the rooftop was the best possible subversion.
This is kind of the ongoing question. The main thing that seem to prevent Homelander from just murdering Stan and everyone else is his desire to be worshipped and the fact that Vought provides that. Aside from that, nothing is keeping him from burning Vought Tower to the ground, and of course, he could MAKE people worship him.
