Was Homelander’s lazing of the guy at the demonstration his first really public murder?
Seems so. When I saw it, I immediately harked back to an IRL claim (by someone) that they could shoot a man on Fifth Avenue.
I assumed she threw it into the ocean (or maybe Lake Ontario).
The show isn’t exactly subtle- I was very surprised it didn’t happen on Fifth Avenue.
In his first scene in the first episode he throws a thief into the air who then lands with a splat in front of everyone but I do think this is indeed his first murder of someone who wasn’t a “criminal”.
Yeah, they had a great chance to take down Homelander, and blew it, stupid, stupid, stupid. I guess he has “plot immunity”.
And, why the fuck do that? Just take it away from him.
You forget that planeload of passengers. And the Pilot. Not to mention several of the Seven.

None of those were publicized murders and care was taken to cover them up. Homelander hasn’t just up and murdered anyone in the public view yet, that I recall. I guess next season we’re going to see Homeland own the libs and his fanbase cheer.

My criticisms are the usual I’ve had for other seasons…a lot of treading water and resetting.
Funny enough the very last scene moved forward one of my “earlier nitpicks”

Also Soldier Boy and Homelander fight pretty well for guys who never suffered actual pain or was in a fight against someone who could hurt them.
I fully expected one of them to go all Captain Hammer “Ow ow owo owowowowow this is pain!! This hurts!!!”
I can see Soldier Boy learning the rudiments of fighting to look good as part of his macho image, but that is hard to do without a sparring partner. I wonder when Homelander first felt pain because as you said he doesn’t seem shocked by it.
There was a scene last season where Homelander zapped the “supe terrorist” and killed the innocent kid behind him. Cell phone footage of that got out. I don’t remember how they spun that.
I don’t even understand what The Boys status is anymore…and what keeps Homelander from just incinerating them. Releasing the aircraft video now probably wouldnt even affect his polls very much.
Soldier Boy because a supe as an adult. He said his dad abused him too, right?
I’m not sure Homelander fought all that great, Maeve was clearly outfighting him she was just way below his weight class in actual power.
