The Boys S3

HL has certainly threatened to do so, in order to get his way.

SB is an asshole, HL is a megalomaniac killer.

I mean, we’re still learning what Soldier Boy was up to. But so far:

  1. He has killed multiple innocent families.
  2. He attacked protestors in Birmingham
  3. He killed students at Kent State
  4. He may have killed JFK

I think put in a similar situation to the airplane, Soldier Boy would have made the same choice Homelander did.

Did SB threaten to kill everyone in a city if he didn’t get his way?

Ok guys, going back to when I rated Homelander and Soldier Boy by relative assholeishness it was in the context of them dealing with their newfound father-son relationship. And even then I’m not all that sure because of the enormousness of their assholeishness. In any situation you can find reasons why one or the other is engaging in the greater acts of assholery.

The mass eye-beaming.

Re: asshole-ness. I think SB is worse because he kinda knows what a regular person is like whereas HL just doesn’t have a concept of normalcy. He needs a new word, almost. When you consider what teaching him as a kid must have been like…Man, Vought really are idiots.

It kind of doesn’t matter which one is more willing to be a mass murderer. Homelander is clearly more capable of it. Between flight and laser eyes, he could demolish downtown Manhattan and kill tens or hundreds of thousands in an afternoon. Soldier Boy is invincible and has super strength, and some kind of blast power that he apparently can only use when Russian pop music is playing. So without the blast power, his kill rate is maybe 1% of Homelanders, even with the blast power, maybe 10%.

Homelander is scarier due to the nature of his powers. SB has to work at killing you, he has to really want it. To Homelander killing someone is like stepping on an ant, he would barely notice nor care.

Or a shrinky guy.

Oh, I don’t know. I’m sure he was perfectly adorable.

BTW, it seems that Soldier Boy didn’t have his chest blast that either incinerates or depowers other supes until he was captured by the Russians. Is that correct?

Yes. Apparently a side-effect of the radioactive testing done on him.

Oh, that’s right, Hughie has that geiger counter that keeps going nuts when SB gets angry.

I thought perhaps it was done on purpose for later use as a Winter Soldier sort of weapon, but if they could do that they’d be manufacturing heroes anyway.

Or a Nuclear Man sort of weapon?

Letting an insane Supe who could depower other Supes run wild would be a handy way to mess up an enemy country.

While much of this season has been good, ultimately the storyline didn’t move forward at all by the end of the last episode. There are really no more points for the show to make. They need to wrap this up, unless they have some superfantabulous new premise going forward.

FYI it looks like the finale dropped a day early. Just watched it and it did not disappoint.

??? This was the normal schedule, wasn’t it?

Anyway, interesting to see that Bobby Singer wasn’t just a one- off joke because Jensen Ackles was on there but will apparently play a significant role next season.

Anyone else think that Homelander would be the guy who was going to be announced as VP pick at the end? Well I guess it’s still a supe, but a hidden one.

So the “Seven” are now down to 3 - Homelander, The Deep, and A-Train. The Deep is in waaay too deep (no pun intended), but maybe A-Train will flip on Homelander? Though now Homelander can just kill randomly people and his fans will cheer.

We know there is a 4th Season, but really how many more can they do at this point?

Figures that the Deep eats Ranch Doritos.

I’m really sad about Black Noir. I hope his story isn’t over - we’ve seen him regenerate from fatal injuries before, haven’t we?
