The Bundys are at it again.

They tend to engage in what a Canadian judge has called organized pseudolegal commercial arguments - you can read his thoughts here http://www.canlii.org/en/ab/abqb/doc/2012/2012abqb571/2012abqb571.pdf

I am a sovereign citizen: that means I get to make up whatever I think my laws should be and you must respect that. As well as honor whatever parts of your laws that I think pertain to me. I am a democracy. Of one, yes, but still a democracy. Democrazy is good.

Okay, now how much is he willing to pay to all the people who took the role of “can’t use the wildlife refuge while some fucking idiots are holed up there”?

“Ryan Bundy Declares Himself An ‘Idiot’ Not Subject To US Courts”

I actually agree with him on something!
But maybe not. I suspect that he’s using "idiot’ in some nonstandard way.

In Bundy’s worldview, the government/court system only has sovereignty over you if you allow it. However, in Bundy’s worldview, you don’t have to consciously allow it–you can accidentally bind yourself to the laws by something so simple as accepting a glass of water from the court.

By declaring himself an “idiot” at law, Bundy is attempting to disavow anyone from “tricking” him into binding himself to the law by technical language. After all, he’s disavowed the court but they are still holding him and trying him; he must be using his magical Sovereign Citizen phrase book incorrectly somehow.

Doesn’t him declaring himself and idiot prove he’s not? If he was really an idiot, he’d welcome standing trial.

“That’s quite a Catch”

In other words, he’s using the word “idiot” in an idiotic manner.

But perhaps ironically, he’s right in every sense of the word.

Personal security for Oregon Governor Kate Brown has been increased because of Malheur related threats.

And this just weeks after she announced plans to reduce the ability of Oregonians to provide their own security.

How many of them have received recent death threats?

Believe it or not, I don’t have statistics on that.

I do, however, know that this is intolerable to me, as an Oregonian, when I live in a city (Portland) that is unwilling to combat the criminal elements within its border, yet feels the need to further restrict my ability to defend myself even beyond the measures taken by the state.

You know, the government really and truly wants to pay that moron, er, SC, but there’s a huuuge problem: the SC doesn’t recognize the government and the government is the only thing backing the money; therefore, any money paid to said SC is worthless.

At least that has more logic than any other thing that jackass and his fellows have advanced.

Portland’s crime rate rose in 2014, FBI says, but city still safer than most with similar populations

Here’s one example. The Mayor puts off clearing out the “campers” along a public space (an action he was only set to take after months and months of being called out on his inaction on this problem). Said homeless campers include a multitude of criminals, including rapists, other sex offenders, major drug addicts, and assorted thieves and other criminals.

It’s gotten so bad that the Springwater corridor (the public space in question) is being abandoned by the citizens of the city because of the problems these “campers” cause. This has caused the cancellation of children’s summer programs in the area and many who would use the path for recreation or commuting to abandon it – or to refuse to use the path unless armed.

Sorry for the double-post, but…
Yeah, largely I have no problem with the crime rate in this city. Even when the rate increases, it’s mostly property crime, rather than violent crimes against people. However, there are certain issues that are causing major headaches, as outlined in my other post, that cause major problems.

Is THAT how Bundy got caught? … He was trying to hide a full 15-feet of rope with only a semi-colon?

“What are you looking at guard? I’m a Sovereign Citizen and I know my Prehensile Rights…!”

Maybe you should start another Pit thread rather than hijacking this one.

“It’s the best there is.”
