Actually, a little worrisome. Fart Barf and Itch were not tracking the two “borrowed” government vehicles closely enough to get both drivers. Dunno, but I would have thought that the Bundyites should be pretty closely watched, especially if driving commandeered government vehicles or for any other “easy arrest”.
The Bundyites shouldn’t be paranoid, the feds really should be out to get them.
Given that Booda got nabbed in Arizona, every one of these guys has to know that if they leave, they will be looking over their shoulders for the rest of their lives. Right now, they have to be feeling a bit like cornered minks. The overall situation is not very stable.
I thought they were planning a press conference for today - any work on that?
They have press conferences daily. They wanted to have a community meeting today, and were hoping to use the county fairgrounds (free of charge). Strangely, the government said no thanks, find your own place. So no meeting.
No news on a press conference. I did read earlier this week that the Bundyites needed a place to hold a press conference but the place had not been confirmed.
These guys have to have figured out or the cold dawn realization is coming to them that
1 - they are fucked
2 - charges will be filed sooner or later. The long arm of the law and all that
3 - the locals want nothing to do with their shit
4 - a mass spontaneous uprising of Militias that will give the Bundyites free land isn’t going to happen
5 - middle aged white guys with no life prospects just aren’t all that fun to be around 24/7

The people that they thought might come to their aid, are more pissed at them then the ‘cops’. This could make a wonderful screen play.

I listened to one of them today and she was pissed that they weren’t allowed to use any of the buildings. Pretty funny.
I keep going back and forth as to whether or not they should just storm the refuge.
Currently I like the idea of more or less randomly arresting one or two at a time in town, which seems to be what they’re doing. This will lead to them being forced to choose between going hungry or risking arrest.
Supply runs into town will be considered risky which could lead to internal squabbling about whose turn it is to go into town.
I’m wondering why they didn’t let them have the fairgrounds meeting and use the opportunity to snag a bunch of them while they’re out of the refuge.
I like the idea of TPTB not going in all outraged, but rather treat it outwardly with a giant eyeroll and a sigh but have plans to nail them to the wall legally in time. They should not be made to be martyrs, they should be shown to be lunatics and a giant, ignorant, PITA. Keeping them penned (so long as they aren’t doing any lasting harm to the refuge) is they way to go, I think.
It’s a little like catching a nuisance bear in a culvert trap and letting it stay in there for a day or so while arrangements are made to take it somewhere out of peoples’ way. And when the bear is released they pepper it with bean bag shot and paintballs, harass it with noise and dogs, and scare the ever-livin’ crap out of it.
I have more sympathy for the bear than these idiots though.
I’m glad they have finally arrested somebody but WTF with they couldn’t get the second guy because he had already gone into Safeway?
I mean, they couldn’t wait til he came out of Safeway and arrest him, too? they were afraid his groceries would go bad if they did that? :dubious:
