The Bundys are at it again.

Oh no, my friend. Ammon was a bad-ass Jew living in pre-Columbian America. He is most famous for chopping the arms off of dozens of robbers and giving the pile of severed arms to a king in order to convert him. Mormon missionaries used to be a LOT more aggressive.

I went to my first protest rally ever in my life the other day. It was sponsored by the Audubon people, but was basically a “throw the thugs out” rally. It was surprisingly well attended, given the steady rain coming down. People are really pissed about this and the governor would be well-advised to take action if she wants to see another term in office. So far, she’s been completely unimpressive as governor.

It might have been the similarity in names to a former Dallas Cowboy but I Googled Mr. Johnson and found this from 2011: Inside the DHS: Former Top Analyst Says Agency Bowed to Political Pressure.

The interview that follows in that article is worth reading.

I think it was posted upthread, but it might be worth noting, again, that one member of the Ammonia Gang is a convicted murderer. This means that he cannot possess a gun, but, in the heat of battle, another gang member could, at least in theory, “loan” him a gun just now, which might not qualify as “possessing a firearm”. This seems like a very problematic kink in the letter of the law.

He claims that he is not the same Neil Sigurd Wampler who was convicted of murder in California, that it was another guy with that name.

Because the person convicted of murder was Neil Sigurd Wampler, and his name is NEIL SIGURD OF THE FAMILY WAMPLER, which did not enjoin contract with the state of California.

Damn it! ninja’ed.

Not a different guy. From your link (and the one I posted upthread):

I am Sparta… I mean Neil Sigurd Wampler!

I can’t find a cite but a number of days ago Ammon Bundy was quoted as saying that the Supreme Court lacks jurisdiction to interpret the constitution yet I presume he believes he can. It’s hard to distill where these people are coming from down further than that. Their core justification not only for the land grab but pert near everything else is the US constitution but only their own interpretation of it and no one else’s. Any law that voilates the constitution is void and that includes laws that prohibit convicted felons from owning guns. Stanley Blaine Hicks aka Blaine Cooper is one of their ring leaders and likewise a convicted felon, he is a little camera shy around guns but there is no doubt he’s packing.

Huh? I’d be very interested in seeing the legal line of reasoning for that assertion.

Somehow I don’t think there’s a parole/probation officer in America who would buy that for a moment.

Why is my name on that quote? I did not post that. That was eschereal.

 I dunno. Sorry.

A little background on the Hammonds, whom the Bundys are there supposedly supporting.

No problem. I’m sure that it wasn’t on purpose. Looks like Miller fixed it.

Holy crap!
It sounds like they have a bit of an anger management problem.

I’m not sure if this link will work for everyone, someone dropboxed a recent facebook video of one TaliBundys (Facebook link if it works better for you). Jon Ritzheimer is the guy speaking, he sells “F#ck Islam” tee shirts when he isn’t occupying wildlife sanctuaries and he’s also the guy who inspired the “Daddy Swore an Oath” meme. But this vid isn’t going to lead in parodies.

Jon and the rest of his bullets over brains brigade know, they are absolutely convinced that Article 1, Section 8, clause 17 of the US Constitution:

Means that it is unconstitutional (and illegal) for the federal government to own any land other than as mentioned above. They never for example read all the way down to article 4, section 3 clause 2 but are amazed, amazed and saddened that soo many of their fellow Americans are ignorant of the constitution.

Well, they seem willing to teach us all a lesson. They are going to turn over all the land in that refuge to “it’s rightful owners” which does not for some reason mean the local Paiutes and are begging people to call the FBI and their elected officials to ask them not to send in law enforcement to try and stop or expel them. They will fight to the death to defend their interpretation of the constitution.

No matter how flawed it is.

Getting worse. Now the occupiers have gone into locked rooms/buildings where native American artifacts and records are stored.

“The militiamen stationed at a federal wildlife refuge in eastern Oregon are now rummaging through artifacts and documents of the Paiute tribe…LaVoy Finicum, one of the leaders of the armed protesters occupying the Malheur national wildlife refuge, posted a video of himselfinside a government building looking through cardboard boxes of papers and other items associated with the local tribe – and inviting Paiute leaders to meet with the militia and reclaim their belongings.”

Clowns are acting like they are the legal owners/custodians of the land and righting all past wrongs.

This goat rodeo has gone on long enough. Create a hard perimeter, announce the occupiers are under arrest for the laws that have been broken, come out unarmed, and then cut water and power, and wait them out.

I’d probably support more aggressive legal response but need to think that through. At some point, illegal occupation is something that people should be arrested for. And, even if there is legal right to have the firearms, at some point it crosses a line to armed threat, and if proven in a court of law should also carry a penalty.

I think the flaunting of the law has gone on far enough. According
