The Bundys are at it again.

It’s unlikely that the children are free to leave.

The children’s parents/guardians are or else it becomes a CPS and child endangerment issue.

Feds need to actively start resolving this situation. Felonies have been committed by an aggressively armed group on Federal Land for nearly a month. There’s avoiding escalation, and then there’s WTF?

Right, and CPS is so much better equipped to deal with this than the FBI or local law enforcement.

Start arresting them as they leave the refuge. Don’t allow anyone one else onto the refuge.

A cordon would work. Especially if it was stated that any person leaving the area would be subject to arrest for trespassing. That would at least put a huge damper on their daily press briefings. Fucking media.

I think the point was that the occupiers as a whole can make the decision to leave if safety becomes an issue. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if becoming martyrs is more important to them than the safety of their children. They’ve pretty much proven that by taking them to an armed standoff.

They have announced that, in the spring, they will start grazing cattle on the wildlife refuge grounds.

In two hundred years Dr Who will visit Mars…and those first explorers will be from the Bundy Conglomerate of North America…mark my words…

Occupiers say they’ve voted to ask Joaquin Mariano DeMoreta-Folch, a long-time Tea Party activist, to convene a common law grandjury.
*He tracks its origins back to the Magna Carta, British common law and the U.S. Constitution and he warns, the jury meets in absolute secrecy. “The media, you cannot ask the question to them. That’s a felony,” he toldreporters.

“So make sure (you know) what you are doing because if you ask me: How many? What they say? Why they vote? You’re committing the crime of felony and I will hold you accountable,” said DeMoreta-Folch.*

Fine, so they want to govern, but they want total secrecy as part of the process. Makes sense to me :dubious::rolleyes:

It’s highly unlikely that Jimmy Dean or Hormel would let you in to watch sausages get made either.

“The crime of felony”? These are large, confused, angry children playing with things they do not understand. It is time to take their toys away.

Here’s a thought: since we know Ammon Bundy isn’t home, why don’t we form a militia and occupy his ranch? :stuck_out_tongue:

The Feds should then open a Spring Cattle hunting season - no bag limit.

Well, we have all those land mines we can’t use in wars.

Why not plant them on their ranches and offer them a free Easter Egg Hunt this Spring?

"Did the Sheriff of Knott-Head Ham aprove this? We only recognise Gub-mint that dances the Hokey-Pokey, the Macarena, AND the Chicken Dance. But by secret ballot, behind closed doors, in the dark, and after spinning the bottle.

Under Militia Mutton-Head law, its Kisser’s Keeper’s, birth control’s for Weepers.

Ammonia Bundy is actually not a rancher, he is some sort of heavy-equipment mechanic. He got a loan from the federal government (or a federal GSE) to stay out of the red.

My guess is that he thinks of himself as being a Recognitor of the Grand Assize, with the only problem being that the authority and convocation of this sort of local proto-jury hearing arose out of the Crown, not some self-appointed nutter.

Somebody better figure out a way to end this soon, and it had better end with the arrest, trial and conviction of the Bundyites: [

](Oregon standoff: Grant County sheriff urges release of Hammonds - oregonlive.com)So now an elected official, law enforcement official, is advocating caving in to a terrorist group’s demands; that doesn’t help the cause of law & order at all.

Hope they don’t drink the water.

I thought the proper sheriff was David Ward.

The one that is proposing the release is also part of Arpaio’s Sheriff group, the CSPOA - Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association. The group gave him a “sheriff of the year” award for not wanting to follow rulings from the federal government.

Ah yes, but humiliating other sheriff and authorities is ok in his book. This sheriff wants to have his cake and eat it too.

Impeach that Sheriff for failing to perform his legal duties. Is there a mechanism in the state legislature to do that?

This is an off-year for the Oregon legislature. They typically convene in odd-numbered years for about four or five months and then go back to their day jobs the rest of the time. Unless a special session is needed. County sheriffs are usually removed from office through some sort of court action.

You would think that the current situation was reason enough to convene a special session. If the feds won’t act, the state government is certainly entitled to do whatever they need to do to deal with the situation.
