So I paid for that one year contract a bit ago, and realized I wasn’t really playing, I have a few RL friends who play WoW (albeit as dirty alliance). The more I thought about it, the more I realized I really don’t want to grind out my favorite mounts and everything again, so while it’s not certain at this moment, I’ll likely end up faction/server changing soon on Jsor. I hate alliance’s story, but maybe having friends around will make me actually use my subscription.
I realize this is a resounding “meh” for all of you since I don’t really get on anymore :p, but I figured it was best to inform you guys regardless. Maybe I’ll make a Panda on Cairne again someday.
Already mentioned it in the big thread, but I’ve cancelled my subscription and am officially “done” on Feb. 26. I just haven’t been able to make myself log in for a while now. I just still uninterested in raiding, and logging in six 85’s every day to do the same regimen of dailies on each of them just burned me out.
I’ll be back to at least take a look at MoP. Maybe it will actually have more stuff to keep us non-raiders busy at max level.
I’ve got a couple of level 85 characters that are just hanging around Twilight Highlands with unfinished quests. I’m just not terribly motivated to keep playing them once they’ve hit that level; I’ve already played thru the Twilight Highlands quests 2-3 times by now, and don’t feel the need to experience them a second time. The grind of queuing for dungeons to get points to buy gear for more dungeons for more gear to eventually raid isn’t terribly attractive either, nor is doing so many dailies that it becomes a full-time job.
I even deleted a level 85 rogue when she reached the Twilight Highlands, because I just didn’t feel like working my way through the quests again.
I’ve got one main toon - my level 85 paladin Kalathan - that I’m willing to do the gear grind with (although even that has slowed down as SW:TOR takes up some of my gaming time). Doing that with any other characters though…meh.
On a less ‘downer’ side; Kalathan ran “Siege of Wyrmrest Temple” yesterday evening, and won the need roll-off for the leg armor token that dropped. That gives her 4 of the 5 pieces of the raid gear (and the accompanying bonus)
Jsor (who I’m NOT transferring), is now iLevel 374, the only non-378 gear I have left is my axe, a trinket, and my belt. I may start running LFR soon to get gear from there.
So, I’m nearly topped off (with 4 Lure Master Tackle Boxes) of the guppies and eels, but need the catfish to catch up…but of course, getting catfish does squat for our achievement progression. So, just keep on fishing any pools that you see and just send any full stacks of the fish listed here to Fishmongger for storage until we get the achieve and the recipe. It’s not required to send any more eel and guppies, but I will gladly hold onto more catfish.
I picked up the Marcia Chase daily “Blood is Thicker” quest so if we have any substantial numbers, we could do a little of this between runs.
I will be at a business meeting tonight, so I won’t be on for our Monday Night Mayhem.
Shin Kell and I discussed moving our raid day to a different day so we could have a better possibility of having 2 tanks and 2 healers for 10 mans, and so I wanted to get a head count to see if this would work for everyone else here in the guild…we came up with 2 days…Wednesdays or Fridays, probably the same time (9:00 Cairne time). So, please post here with a simple “yes” or “no” for each day if it works for you…For me:
Wednesdays: No
Fridays: Yes (although this Friday would be a “no”)

I do have just enough bag space to hold more Eels and Guppies to put us over, and then after that, we can catch up on the Catfish later…right now…just fish in the pools to get the 10k, and we’ll worry about the catfish later.
1500 to go…we could get this done in a week if everyone does a stack of eels and/or guppies a day!
On Thursday night I joined Bird’s KA guild for a 10-man Fall of Deathwing run (along with a couple of PUGs). Sadly, we couldn’t quite pull off enough DPS to run it in heroic mode, so we had to switch to non-heroic. Still, we made it through (with me only foolishly dying once on Deathwing’s back when I failed to move to the correct side on a roll), and I got the token for the Helmet upgrade, which let me replace the Looking For Raid 384 Helmet of Radiant Glory with the 10-man non-heroic raid 397 Helmet of Radiant Glory.
I also got Kneebreaker Boots, which while they do break my 4-piece gear set bonus, are still a DPS upgrade.
I don’t know if I’ll be on tonight for our Monday guild event (not that many folks have been on at all lately ). I started setting up my new computer yesterday; when I left this morning it was still downloading WoW. My new computer is running Windows 7 64-bit; so I don’t know what (if any) issues might need to be resolved before I can get WoW running properly.
Back from Vegas…now I have a crapload of mileage and payroll to do tonight…I might be able to get on later tonight, but no promises. I think we can start planning on doing Friday night Guild Runs, hopefully normal 10 man raids with only a couple of puggers, but we should have a better chance at doing them a few days earlier than Mondays.
Can someone please set up a raid invite for this Friday night at 9pm?
Yeti, I put myself down as “tentative”, because the KA members I’ve been running with on Friday nights (to get the Cataclysm achievements) were making noises last Friday about trying some more achievements tonight. Since I consider that a prior commitment, I can’t promise that I’ll be available.
On the other hand, if KA wants to run Dragon Soul 10-mans or something and use us to fill the gaps, that would be perfect
