We had a good time on Friday. Yeti, Kalathan, DeathnTaxes, and me grouped up with a few PuGgers for some DS10 fun. Did I miss anyone? Though the group was ever changing, we had one KA-er and mostly the fine folks over at Delirious to help out. At the end it was more Delirious than BDL, but still fun. It was my first time tanking DS (even in LFR!) so when running from one boss to the other I was furiously reading up strategy on icy-veins. Tanking is fun, but I bet it wouldn’t be without the 10% debuff. Though that big bear butt is hilarious. HA! I couldn’t even find the buff that was doing that.
The real good news is that a few of those from Delirious were interested in running again with us, so if you were staying away because of attendance issues, we now have a bench to pull from.
Yeah, I’m sorry I had to bail on you guys mid run like that. The power came back on after just a few minutes, but there was still so much thunder and lightning in the area that signing back on just didn’t seem like a wise choice. I could just imagine my wife’s expression if I had to tell her that I’d melted my brand- new computer…
That did go pretty well and now we made some good allies that would do it again with us…I will set up another invite for this Friday, 9:00pm to all our 85s…please accept or decline if you can make it so we can get an idea of how many non-guildies we are gonna need.

I was thinking about picking the game up again and was wondering if any doggie wanted to the resurrection thing. I saw it on Slick Deals a while back and it looks like it’s still in effect. PM me if so.

Well, last night a few of us stuck it out and fished our way to the achievement in order to get the Seafood Magnifique recipe. I made a couple of batches, and discovered that it’s soulbound to the person who makes it…so…just ask me online for mats and I will mail them from Fishmongger. I will mail you enough mats to make 40 SMs…just make sure the toon your cooking with will be the toon you’re raiding with for everyone’s benefit. You can pick up the recipe from the Guild Vendor in Org for 150g.
We will eventually run out of Lavascale Catfish first, so after you use up your current allotment of 40 SMs, you will have to fish up the Catfish (in Deepholm) and I can still supply you with the Eels and Guppies…I have about 600 or 700 more of each beyond the catfish I have available.

Friday Night Raid Report: World of Logs
Had a total of 6 of us Doggies (Moobird, Xander, Deathntaxes, Jaztroza, Kalathan and Yeti) with the help of a few KA guildies and some return PUGs and some new PUGs, but we we went just a bit further than last week…5 boss kills with a few additional attempts on Blackhorn. I had trouble just trying to pick-up and burn the sappers on that fight…but of course, we will improve on that the next time around.
Malekk, Manique/Shampow, and Elfder were the best PUGs of the group, although I’m not sure about Deathy, because I know little about tanks and his effectiveness…I’ll leave that commentary to Bird and Runestar.
I already set-up next Fridays Raid, so please let us know ASAP if you can join…I’m hoping that Makig/Oni can jump in on this one!
Why couldn’t you all have had Friday night raids all those years I was a Doggie? I might have stayed :(.

Sorry…when things started dwindling a little bit a month ago, I asked a few people about switching to a different day, Friday became the dominate choice…I’m sorry we waited this long to make a change.
But…There is room for you still…
I just got the notice in my email about the resurrection… 
I’m not ready yet – I’m still having fun with SWTOR, and subscribing to both games is out of the question unless Blizz throws in free marital counseling. If SWTOR fails to thrive after a few more months I could see myself going back to WoW eventually, though.
I actually started playing again this morning (technically, I’ve been paying all this time, but up until today couldn’t make myself more than log in, look at the screen, and quit again) and found myself enjoying the game again.
SWTOR just…didn’t hook me. I honestly haven’t even logged in since the first week I got it. I guess I’m spoiled from WoW with the DF/RF and almost complete UI customization/addon options, but playing SWTOR without being able to change much in the UI and having to look for groups in chat channels just felt like a step backwards for me personally. Of course, now someone’ll tell me there’s another way to group up, but even still.
This is my week on night shift at work, however, so I won’t be able to participate in anything on Friday night (plus I’ve yet to actually set foot in DS and don’t know how the fights actually work). I’m hoping the following Friday night will be a yes for me, though it’s going to depend on if my parents come Friday or Saturday to visit the following week.
Don’t sweat it Jay, you’ll get the hang of DS10 in no time…jump on LFR just so you can see the basic mechanics of each boss and you’ll be ready for the little tweak or two when you get into the DS10 normal mode…we are still learning the ropes…some are easy (almost no different than LFR, and some are tricky, but can be fun).
I won’t be making it this Friday due to the holiday.
I did get to run the final 2 DS bosses last night in lfr as a tank for the first time. So at least I got some experience there.
No problems, Bird…maybe some of your KA guildies might have an alt tank…please ask around in KA if they are interested so I can give them an invite. I know Kal and Xander can tank, but Kal is on EDT and can only stay for a few fights (or would rather go ret). Fortunately, we look pretty good for healers, atm. I wouldn’t mind if Darland would tank for us, but he probably has committed this toon to other runs.
Darland is back in semi-retirement. I raid on Jagaya (the hunter) with KA during the week and just don’t have any time for anything else right now.
That said, I do get the Friday invites so if I happen to have one open I’d be happy to step in on Darland, with the caveat that he is Firelands geared, not DS (even LFR) geared.
Understood, Jas09…I think you would do fine in DS10 Normal…I see you have mostly ilvl378 tank gear that you picked up earlier…Moobird is similar geared and he did fine last week. But I do understand if you don’t have the time…I’ve been feeling the time crunch here of late as well.
