The Burning Dog Inn

Also sorry to see you go, by-tor.

Jragon, we’ll miss you to, if you’re going. Why don’t you hand off the guildmaster post? I suggest one of Demo, FlightlessBird, Long Time Lurker (Kruler), Skammer (Kene). Would one of you like to volunteer? You’re all on a lot (I’d recommend wonderlust (Oom) as well, but she’s still new). The post doesn’t require much work other than being a presence, since we don’t do much as a guild other than chat and ad hoc quests and instances.

I’m going to be gone for the next two weeks, or I’d be a candidate as well. I’ve also learned I’ll be getting Age of Conan for my birthday at the end of the month. I’ll still be playing WoW, but will split my time. Once the first month of AoC is up I’ll make a longer decision.

Story time:

I made level 41 on my Shaman Omencaller over the weekend. That means I now can dual-wield axes and have the Stormstrike ability, which lets me get a bonus attack with them. I really cut through monsters quickly now!

I don’t usually PvP, but I did yesterday. I had just started Stranglethorn Vale. Most players start it at level 30, but I was doing other zones until now. I was hunting tigers and panthers in the far north for the Nesingwary quests. And skinning for leather any animals I came across.

I saw a level-30 Human warrior eating food next to dead panther. I figured he wasn’t going to skin it, since he hadn’t yet. So I skinned it. While doing that, I was attacked; I thought by another panther. I defended myself, but it turns out it was an Alliance NPC that attacked me. It was the traitor that wanders about near the Rebel camp.

Of course I was flagged for attacking the NPC. The warrior must’ve thought I’d be an easy kill, with him and the NPC against me. A second after he attacked me, my Windfury (bonus attacks) critted and took down the NPC. The warrior then realized I was in a different league and ran.

Or tried to run. Frost shock and an earthbind totem stopped him in his tracks. I stormstruck and a took him down to a sliver. Finished him off with an earthshock. Ha! That’ll teach him to look before attacking.

I don’t think me (Kene) being a guild leader is a good idea; I haven’t been playing much longer than Wanderlust and I’ve been getting some “feedback” about the amount of time I’ve been playing lately.

That said – I’ll be looking for a group to do Zul’Farrak tonight. I have three quests for it, plus I’d like to get my hands on the Bad Mojo Mask.

This is definitely unkool (heh). Sorry to see you go.

My warrior is up to lvl 14 or 15 now and I’d like to try my hand at tanking an instance. I have all the RFC quests to share, so hopefully we can get some lowbies together this week and try it (and I’ll gladly go more than once… I’m thinking I’ll need the practice). I’d rather embarrass myself in front of you guys instead of a pug.

I’d love to do ZF tonight. What time were you thinking?

Have to put the kids to bed first, so aiming between 8 and 8:30 server time. Hope you can make it!

okok, I’ll gladly accept post of guild-master if **Jragon **wishes to relinquish it. I hate responsibility but I understand the calming effect it’ll have on the Legionnaires! (and it’s not that much responsibility anyway:)

Zem, sorry to hear you’re leaving. You’ll be missed.

I’m up for ZF, but RottingBird is too high, not that that’s stopped anyone from running:)

Is that the same as Central Time? If so, I can help out tonight. Will you be able to share quests?

Ah man, by-tor, sorry to see you go.

As far as guild leader, unless we start raiding, there’s really no function that needs to be fulfilled by one except promoting people, and that can be done by officers. If jrag was going to leave permanently I don’t mind taking up the mantle but other than that case maybe he should just make a few officers that can promote(so people can use the bank).

Speaking of the bank, I think we’re at or nearing 100g – when should we think about getting another tab?

Server time = CT. I’m glad there’s interest, I was hoping I wouldn’t have to find a PUG. According to Wowhead, the quests I have are shareable:
The Spider God
Tiara of the Deep
Scarab Shells

by-tor, raza and jragon, I hate it that you’re having problems. I was thinking of getting an nVidia card, I think maybe I’ll hold off on that…

250g for the second tab. :frowning:

My card is a NVidia 7950GT, I think. No problems for me. Although I sometimes get blank textures in the character select screen.

I have an nVidia GeForce 7900 GTX, been playing WoW since beta, and have never had a video related problem.

I’ll try to pop on around 8-8:30 CST for ZF. If it turns out I can’t, I’ll post in this thread, otherwise you can expect me!

I also have a 7950 and a 7900, have had some issues here and there but nothing major.

I’m down with running something tonight too. Dunno if any of my toons are in the right lvl range but I’m happy to help if you need it.

I have an older nVidia MX8 or something like that, no problems except for very occasionally getting static for a particular texture (I’ve had sparkly mana worms on Sunstrider Isle, and I recently had a fellow toon’s robe showing sparkly instead of its real color. And I’ve had toxic green slime instead of town base ground before. But nothing horribly distracting).

At the moment I’m combatting a bout of online social anxiety, which is why I haven’t been on my guild toon lately…I’m fine when I’m playing “off the grid” (i.e., on a toon that isn’t attached to a guild) but I’ve been too phobic to play my guild toon or ask for guild membership for my other toons. Yeah, I’m weird. But I’m working on that. I just get very intimidated by real-time interaction in a way that I don’t when I’m in broken-time interaction (like on here).

ETA: Just wanted to note that it’s not anything about you guys. It’s all me. My usual mode for playing WoW is to treat it as a single-player game with occasional interaction outside the AH. I’ll help someone who’s having problems with a particular mob and move on, or heal someone and move on, or buff someone and move on. I’ve only actually played two instances with any kind of group (RFC and WC) and those were PUGs with whom I really didn’t interact except to work out tactics and such. So this guildmember thing is new (and a little scary) to me and I’m working it out over time…

I get that feeling sometimes too, of simply wanting to play without having to deal with other people. Do what’s fun for you. But most of us use the guild as a chat channel, without any pressure to do more. Give a “hi” in the guild channel, and ignore us. :stuck_out_tongue:

Regarding nVidia issues: it certainly doesn’t affect every nVidia user, and 95% of those affected seem to have only started having problems since patch 2.4…but there are many, many players having the problem, with no company stepping up to look for a solution.

This thread is but one of many discussing (as much as anything can be discussed on the WoW forums) the issue:

Sorry, haven’t had much chance to get on lately, but inadvertently found this on Youtube today, and it was too brilliant not to share. Just wish I’d thought of it first.

Here’s a pic of the tiny Dark Whelpling pet which I didn’t get as a rare drop, despite heroic efforts. I ended up buying it. =D

Nice!!

If anyone’s interested in starting an Alliance guild, I suggest that that be the name!
