Pretty much , actually. For instance, I think Keegstra lost his teaching position, but Christie took the case to the SCC , which doesn’t come cheap.
The Law Society of BC had to discipline him a few years ago on one matter, but commented that they recognised the significant amount of pro bono work he did on free speech issues. They fined him for a professional mistake on a particular file, but commented that they were aware that if the fine were too high it might force him out of practice and leave a significant group of individuals without representation, due to their unpopularity.
I’ll Be There. Hopefully it warms the hell up by then. I’ve spent all week wandering around radioactive fields in Port Hope. The radioactivity did little to keep me warm.
We are looking at 20-30 cm of snow dropping on Tuesday. I’m hoping that the gods smile down on us and bump the temp up a degree or two above freezing to turn it to rain.
Colder here in Montreal too - it really sucks to walk in my company’s parking lot, since it’s connected to airport grounds with nothing to cut the wind. Can you say WIND CHILL?!
A coworker and I had to visit another company to have a look at an airplane (woohoo hydraulic lines!), and I offered to drive. I turned the sound down on the CD player, but didn’t turn it off. On the way back from the hangar he commented on a song title that he found amusing. It wasn’t until the drive home, when the CD had looped, that I realized that the song previous to the one he commented on must have played too… the song title is displayed in big letters…“FUCK YOU”
Better freezing rain than shoveling. I hate shoveling, especially if it is in the morning. There is something positively unholy about having to work that hard to get to work.
Blowed and shovelled snow for a couple of hours yesterday after skiing, but skied about 40,000 verticle ft, so it was well worth it. Please send your snow my way.
You’d really prefer freezing rain to snow? Freezing rain glazes everything with ice, making walking and driving extremely dangerous (not to mention causing power blackouts that last for days). I’ll still take snow.
Yes, I am in for a Ottawa Tulip DopeFest. The last one was a lot fun and it would be fantastic to have even more attendance!
As far as snow goes (that I am looking at coming down as we speak) … all the better for skiing in tomorrow! I am determined to enjoy the end of winter but will definitely celebrate when spring finally arrives
