The CanaDoper Café, 2013 edition.

I hope the music centre can be saved. :frowning:

15 degrees. The widows are shuttered and the furnace is on: again.

I’ve “officially” turned the furnace off three times now, only to capitulate and turn the hydro-sucking beast back on again. And the pool? Pfffff. I may never swim this summer.

I always feel terribly ashamed when I have to turn on the heat in my room in June.

(My room is in a basement, so it can get colder than the upstairs part of the house.)

Meanwhile in Calgary…I don’t recall Godzilla stopping by, but it wouldn’t have surprised us last week.

Happy Birthday to our home and native land!!

A Happy Canada Day!

And a wonderful Moving Day to our Quebecois fellows!

Happy Canada Day everyone!!

It’s Canada Day, not Moving Day

Not for me, anyway. I’m staying put.

Happy Canada Day everyone. I hope you enjoy the day.

Enjoy your Dominion Day.

“Dominion Day?” {Looks it up.} Yeah, we don’t do that any more.

Bah, it is Moving Day and a regional phenomenon such as the Great Upheaval deserves some recognition (plus it is funny watching all of my facebook friends lose their shit over that news story).

Good for you! Moving sucks! Moving on Canada Days sucks harder!

The city of Toronto has planted a bunch of saskatoon bushes in our neighbourhood and they’re just getting ripe now. It seems such a shame for the berries to go to waste, so I went out yesterday and picked a couple of pints. Yum!

I’m trying to put together The Great SDMB Canada Day Play-list! - all suggestions welcome!

Wow! You really are “lost in the mists of time” as your location says!

Come to think of it, last night’s supper involved steak with Montreal steak spice, Waterloo Dark beer and saskatoon berries for dessert. All that was missing was Nanaimo bars and a dildo and we would have had Canada covered from coast to coast!

This pleases me. Cosmic justice has been served. Yummy berries have also been served! Sucks to be all the people who don’t know how good they are!

In other news, Toronto’s embarrassing mayor inspires art.

Spent Canada Day Weekend paddling about on Superior. Good times!

Not necessarily. A friend refuses to call it Canada Day, and still refers to it as Dominion Day. His reasoning? “‘Canada Day’ is a dumb name for a national holiday. There is no ‘United States Day’ or ‘France Day’; we should celebrate the day we lost our colonial status and became a self-governing dominion. Hence, ‘Dominion Day.’”

Looked at that way, I think he’s got a point.
