Just in the last ten years they’ve brought in The Weeknd, Rihanna, the Shakira/Lopez duo, Maroon 5, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, none of which are rap or hip hop.
This is so, and I dial back my comment. However, recent shows (including 2025) feature(d) Kendrick Lamar (redux), Usher, Rhianna, and Snoop/ Dr.Dre/ Eminem/ Lamar. It’s mistaken, but not completely so, and perhaps trending true.

The green slush fund was found last spring by Auditor General Karen Hogan to have awarded scores of contracts to projects that didn’t qualify for tax funding because they didn’t support the development of new, sustainable technologies. Most projects that did receive funding vastly overestimated the amount of carbon emissions they reduced. And, most damningly, of the 226 projects funded in the past six years for a total of $836 million, there were 186 conflicts of interest.

With this talk about Trump’s threat of 25% tariffs on Canadian (and Mexican) goods - would this affect Hydro power? Canada (mostly Quebec) exports a lot of power to New England. How would they feel about a sudden increase in their Hydro rates?
They’ll just blame Biden anyway.
No, they won’t be bothered, because under Trump-o-nomics, Hydro-Quebec will pay the tariff. US homeowners won’t see any change in their bills! 
How does this work under USMCA, formerly NAFTA? I thought the whole fucking point was to prevent any one of the USA, Canada, or Mexico from imposing undue tariffs on any of the other countries!
Not that I trust someone like Donald Trump to follow the rule of law when he decides it isn’t to his advantage, but this is utter bullshit!
That was my first thought when I read about the tariffs today.
Hell, we’re screwed anyways, might as well increase the cost 50%, and make some of our own back, and blame it on Trump. What are the Americans going to do? Suddenly start saving the environment?!? 
And when the costs do go up, they’ll blame us for “stealing” Trump’s tax revenues. So we might as well actually do that! (See above)
The 25% on all goods won’t happen - it’s part of Trump’s Modus Operandi. There will be selective tariffs that won’t hurt the American consumer much. How that plays out in the current Free Trade agreements will be the real question.

There’s lots of speculations out there, but it’s all by people who fundamentally don’t have any more facts than we have. And far too many people are stuck thinking in terms of “What makes sense” and “What used to be normal”. That just doesn’t work when Trump is in charge. None of his tariffs the first time around made any sense, and violated a lot of the “norms” we were following, but they happened anyways.
Until it’s Trump himself saying there will be exceptions, it’s just wishful thinking, and even if it is Trump saying it, we have to weight that based on his baseline dishonesty, and his inherent wishy-washy-ness. What he believes today may not be what he believes tomorrow.
The 25% was aimed at Canada securing its borders. Different from protecting American manufacturing.
Trump is a bully. The first thing bully’s do is wave their arms and threaten.

It’s not the border between Canada and the US that has to be fixed, it’s the border between Canada and everywhere else.
Once someone Trump doesn’t like is in Canada, there is very little Canada can do to stop them from trying to get into the US. We could set up exit controls on all our border crossings, but that will be very expensive, and would require screening everyone who leaves, and would mirror the US screening everyone who enters. It would probably double the cost of the border overall (combining both US and Canadian spending), without really stopping any more people than the US already stops.
What they really want is for Canada to make its entry policies the exact same as the US entry policies, no matter what those policies are. So, the only way we can comply with what they really want is to make ourselves as stupid and racist as Trump is on any given day.
I trust we can all see the problems with that plan.
