I know this is kinda early, but some people start opening prezzies tonight. So, what kinda phat lewt did you get for Christmas? We’re pooling our money and buying a new bed and we got season two of 24, too. And there’s a bunch of stuff just waiting to be opened.
There was a mysterious $400 deposit in my bank account this morning. I’m think it was my father as he is the only one with access . . .

I got a rock. 
I got a BIG MUFF (fuzzbox) for my guitar, which makes me sound three times as good as I really am. My German friends gave me an oil painting of my hometown (Rothenburg ob der Tauber), and a former squeeze gave me a Three Stooges shower curtain, along with some cycling clothes.

A Three Stooges shower curtain? That RULES! And I, too, am a fan of the Big Muff, though I’m a fan of any effects that cover up my mediocre playing.
I’d managed to negotiate nil-all draws with most people I was obliged to buy gifts for, which worked out well when a cashier stole my combined Visa/cash card six days before Christmas.
That only left a handful of presents to collect on, so I rounded up (in toto, mind you):
- A wine bottle opener (I don’t drink wine, nor do most of my friends)
- A $30 ABC shop gift voucher
- An insulated wine carrier (I still don’t drink wine)
And, to cap it all off, from my mother:
- A handbag.
OK, sure, so it’s made of vinyl and has external pockets for a mobile phone (which I don’t have), a water bottle and a discman (that I also don’t have), but it’s a freaking HANDBAG!
Yes, she does think I’m gay, thanks for asking.
Outlaid this year: c. $400. I’d trade everything I got for $25.
Fuck, I hate Christmas.
I got a computer from my parents! It made me all fuzzy inside because that was exactly what I wanted. And then I cried. Because I got exactly what I wanted. And a nifty photo-quality printer. I love photo quality printers. Yay for me.
I also got the rockin’est candle wall sconce from my aunt and uncle and cousin. It’s got a ton of prisms all over it. It’s SHINY! Shiny is good, my friends. Very good. Also some divine smelling perfume.
In other fields: a beaded ring holder (which my sister had asked me to look at for my cousin and I witnessed the purchase of; sneaky!) and a wallet from my sister and her boyfriend, which matches my purse perfectly; cash from other aunt and uncle and from my grandparents.
And my brothers actually bought me a present this year: gourmet hot cocoa and cocoa mug set, to feed the wee, small man who lives in my stomach, demanding chocolate constantly. At least, that’s my theory.

Morelin got me season 1 of 24!
She got some weird cheap jewelry from her family, season 2 of 24 (she coordinated on me, she’s a tricksy hobbitses!).
And then I got her 2 production stills (8x10) from Pirates of the Caribbean. One’s one with Cap’n Sparrow standing on the mast and the other’s him and Will standing on the deck of the Dauntless, right when Jack does that grin. And her BIG present was a Pirates of the Caribbean movie poster, the one with Johnny Depp’s face. Hee hee! I rawk.
Quasi got us dinner out! But we wound up eating in cause it was cold and rainy. Quasi rules!
Now we’re going to go watch the Mr. Bean Christmas episode!
Happiness is a fiancee who gets you presents that say “Black & Decker” on them! I love my new laser leveler/stud finder/cat toy!
And books…we both gave each other lots of books.
Now over to my parents for dinner.

From Hubby: Case of blank CDs to go with our new burner, MST3K Collection Volume 4, charger and minutes for my cellphone, 4 (two of them double!) Prairie Home Companion/Garrison Keillor CDs. And since I recently picked up an old-timey bike from the thrift store he dug around in the garage until he found this 1940’s bike lamp (still in the original box) he’d been saving for as long as he was old enough to hoard stuff, heh.
From brother: Ultimate Weird Al Yankovic DVD (sweet!)
