I got a sewing machine, now I can start making my own clothes from my own designs, like I always wanted! 
My inlaws bought us a new couch! Fantastic, because our old hand-me-down couch was falling apart. They also got us a filing cabinet that I was really excited about, proving that I suddenly became middle-aged and didn’t even notice.
We also got a bunch of DVDs: Buffy Season 5, Firefly, The Blues Brothers, X-Men 2, Smallville Season 1, a U2 concert and a 3-disc retrospective of Ric Flair’s career for my husband. We also got a credit for Amazon.com that will pay for the Babylon 5 Season 4 box set that comes out January 6th.
There were some gift certificates and chocolate too. We made out like bandits. Middle-aged bandits.

Hubby got lots and lots of books and stuff from me, but the WTF gift is from my mom. An FM pen - it writes and you plug headphones in and listen to FM stations. Hubby doesn’t really listen to the radio much.
And while you’re writing, the headphone cord attached to the end of the pen whacks you repeatedly and annoyingly in the cheek or the neck. Definitely an item that wasn’t thought completely through at the drawing-board stage.
