The cold Monday morning MMP

It’s snowing again! We ran to Bert’s for supper because **FCD **wanted to get out of the house. It was rain/snow when we left but it looks like all snow now. I’m a little worried about how our driveway will look in the morning - I may end up going in late. We shall see.

But now we’re in for the night. I’m going to assume the knit position soon. It’s been a productive day, so yay for that!

Talked to OYKW a few minutes ago. He has taken some knock out sinus stuff and was gettin’ sleepy. Hope he has a really good night’s sleep poor thing. I think that shortly I may go lie upon the bed and watch teevee until sleepy time. ‘Tis a cold night, so snugglin’ under a warm blankie sounds like a plan.

Pitchers & catchers reported today & the full team is due in on Monday.
What? It’s called Spring Training, isn’t it???

Nuts, head on over thisaway. Elephants will be in the parking lot for the next 24 hrs as they’ve nowhere else to go. This storm is unprecedented in its epicness! Never before has such a thing occurred!
Ringling Bros is in town & has cxl’d tonight’s & tomorrow morning’s performance, this is after they cxl’d the parade from the train to the stadium on Tues because it was too cold.
I’ve been to the circus a number of times, but it’s on my bucket list to watch the parade, which I’ve never seen. :frowning:
I had nummy, crunchy, baked mac & cheese for dinner & will be havin’ Frankenstein brownies for dessert.

I wouldn’t mind the fact that we’re expecting another 4-8 inches of snow tomorrow night if I weren’t so sure I was going to have to clean it all off my car and go to work tomorrow.

35 Days, 3 Hours, 12 minutes.

So they closed the store 45 minutes after I go there. Oh well, I’m home and having beerverages.

Till Opening Day ???

Please tell me that the Oak Forest neighborhood is not here in Houston because that would be a little creepy for me.

Stump grinder should be knee capped or something cuz that is just sh*tty.

Sickies get well everyone keep warm

Cheers

Until Spring, oh Superhero whose main talent, according to the Comics Curmudgeon, is Running Away.

Scroll all the way down, where Spiderman belongs.

you may have broked my heart, but at least you’ve got your priorities straight.

Little Rock, Arkansas, home of one of our Presidents. :dubious:

When I got home with the check book he was putting it back on the trailer, I never saw it work.
It is still surprising to learn that guys with their own business are younger than I. I do wonder how he will retire.

It was $150.00 to grind the stump of the fallen tree and stumps f rom one and two years past. I blame Republicans and Climate Change, but I digress.
Allstate gave me $500 for the tree on my side of the fence and $1500.00 for my fallen retaining wall, but I again digress.
I lied to the neighbor and said that I spent $100.00 for grinding the stump, and gave him $400.00 to offset his uninsured costs. Little help that will be, he must have roof repairs.

My neck hurts like Hell, I am waiting for the vicodin to kick in.

Wait a minute, the Hell do you mean, “creepy”?

Just found out we’ve got a 3-hour delay tomorrow, too. I will go in, maybe. It’s still snowing and our driveway is white again, dammit! Winter sucks!

Take no offense, I was born in Oak Forest as well, just in Houston. A neighborhood dominated by Pines despite the name.

Jim

We live in the South, where there was little snowfall until climate change, and pine trees, keeping their needles all year could thrive, as opposed to my experience, for example, with Mrs. Plant (v.2.0), damn her greedy eyes, in New Hampshire, where pines would lose branches due to the weight of snow and hence are scarce.

Moses and Aaron on a stick, man, we were on the same side during the Late Unpleasantness!

Get a grip!

I lived atop the placement of the Damned Yankees Artillery during the Battle of Fayetteville, I have yet to released from my shame.

This is true.
Capt

Urgh. I’ve tried doing mine a couple of times (unusually complicated situation this year) and am not sure I trust my results.

For a two-adult household, married filing jointly, with 2 W2s, a 1099-G from DH’s unemployment benefits, and a 1099-R resulting from wiping out a retirement account ([bleep] car needed major care), anyone got any clue how much it would cost me to have a pro do my return?

Work was fine, except for the calls that seemed to be coming in from the Twilight Zone (my officemate was crazy busy, but she and I have different levels of skill/access and different assigned duties so I couldn’t really help her much). RT was as annoying as usual, but I did find that another bus line gets me from the train station to near enough my apartment, and it left sooner and less stuffed than my usual. Might have a new usual bus home :D.

Went with nachos for dinner tonight. I do get the car tomorrow, so could even sleep in a bit tomorrow! I’ll also be home a lot sooner than usual. This is good.

What are Frankenstein brownies?

Blurf. I have still got Teh Sick but at least today I have medication for it. Those germs will soon be a thing of the past, recovery must be complete by Tuesday 'cos I’m off to see a band that night and nothing is getting in the way of that.

Today it’s quite calm outside, it must be the lull between episodes of stormpocalypse as the forecast says there is something else nasty coming our way sometime soon, probably tonight and tomorrow.

In honour of it being roses and chocolate day, I will be celebrating at home tonight with steak, champagne cocktails and the Metallica film I wanted to watch last week but couldn’t 'cos it hadn’t arrived. It turned up a couple of days ago so that will be my entertainment for tonight.

Happy Friday, people!

Good morning and TGIF! I’m trying to decide when I’m going in today. When I let Higgs out, I heard a couple of cars driving down our side street - what a racket they made!! I’m guessing there are a lot of frozen chunks in the roadway. In any event, I won’t leave before it’s light out. We shall see how it goes. And then there’s the rain/snow mix promised tonight. rah.

I’ve got the dishwasher running right now - the load was full enough and we were almost out of spoons, so it had to be done. It’s not like I’m going to wash spoons by hand!!

No comment about the individuals still fighting the war that ended almost 150 years ago. Maybe I don’t get it because my family has only been in this country for about 115 years and we have no “side.” :stuck_out_tongue:

Dunno what I’m gonna have for breakfast - I finished off the pizza yesterday. Decisions, decisions. Happy Firday anyway!
