I have lots of pepper steak left over. The place my mothers bf gets Chinese from has huge portions. He’ll get the lunch version of something and it will feed him, my mother, me and still have enough leftovers for one or two more servings.
Happy Birthday NUTS!
UnlikeSwampy I don’t sing, not ever, never because I sound like a croaking frog with a fly caught in its throat.
In ancient times wine often spoiled or went vinegary in a relatively short period of time, because there was no way to totally seal containers and keep the air out.
Pine resin, used as a sealant, helped keep wine longer but it could also impart a flavor to the wine. Here’s an article about a Greek wine, a very old type, called retsina.
We’re doing a secret pal thing at irk. My secret pal left me a four pack of Cheerwine in glass bottles last night. The funny thing is, I was going to get one of those yesterday, but since the new girl, Good Irish Name, gave me a Pepsi, I decided to count that as my weekly soda and get the Cheerwine next week. I now have a free month’s supply.
My secret pal is Big Boss. I laughed hard when I found out. Me and Detailed AGM hid bags of Skittles sorted by color all over his office today. Detailed AGM left him a note telling him sometimes you have to hunt for the rainbow.
No, but both of us do occasionally repeat outerwear that still smells OK and doesn’t have any spills on it.
Here I was thinking that was a LOT of laundry for two adults for a week. Please note that that 3-4 loads is just clothing. Towels and sheets would add another couple (OK, small washer).
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 34 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 64 and sunny for the day. I’ll take it.
StickyBuns dang! Hope the eye problem is better soonest.
Ok, I get accused of TMI a lot by MOOOOOOM. Wonder what she will think about the fact that apparently a lot of Mumpers walk around the house nekkid to avoid doin’ laundry?
DeathMistress yay on the tasty goody win! I likes spanakopita. I’m not a big fan of other Greek foods, however. They seem to be big on lamb and mutton and I am not a fan of either. Spanakopita and baklava, however, are teh nummy!
Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy says it’s hongry. At some point purtification for deheathenization must also commence. Think I’ll also go ahead and bake the scalloped N.O.T. and cook the butter beans so’s all I have to do is heat 'em up for N.O.L. The ham is already cooked and sliced up. All I’ll need to do is bake the rolls which won’t take long. I feel so efficient!
It looks bright and sunny outside. It’s 22 degrees with a projected high of 33. I have to go out sometime today. I wish Sah-son would gt his license so I don’t have to drive but he is a reluctant driver. He shoveled out my truck yesterday and moved it. I’m not sure why he shoveled it out though, it is a truck and should have been able to handle that little bit of snow.
I had soup for breakfast, and there will be left over pepper steak for lunch. I love soup for breakfast, the warm broth makes my throat feel good.
More shows next week. I look forward to them. Next show is Thursday. But how will I survive the next few days without my theatre group? I mean, think of it - I might actually have some free time.
Today is stay in and clean day. I’m planning a trip to go see the Brevard Fault Zone since there was an earthquake down that way night before last. I can’t decide if I want to do that next weekend or go down Dad Way instead. I should probably go down Dad Way and then go to the fault line the week after.
I’m sure Californians are laughing at me, but I’ve always wanted to see the Brevard Fault Zone.
Here I was about to snark that it tastes like turpentine… :smack:
My washer is busted. Hope that it’s a $35 clutch, and not a $300 transmission. And I have a lot of dirty duds to haul to the laundromat today.
We’re back from McBreakfast and a tour of Food Lion for about $38 worth of assorted items. My plans for today include making a pineapple upside down cake for tomorrow, making some mini-burgers for the freezer for future sliders, and, I hope, *finally *cutting out the new stencils. It’s a sunny and cold day, but since it’s relatively dry, the cold doesn’t permeate to the bones, so there’s that.
Back to work tomorrow - my second-to-the-last full week before going part time. After this weather-induced long weekend, I’m looking forward to 3-day work weeks. Yeah, the loss of pay will suck, but having 4-day weekends all the time will be nice. Yay!
**swampy **- I don’t find walking around the house nekkid to be TMI. Pole dancing around the house nekkid is marginal TMI. Doing unnatural things with bacon while nekkid is definitely TMI. But nekkid in and of itself ain’t no big deal. HOWEVER, this is NOT and invitation for Mumpers to send me nekkid pictures. KTHXBYE!!!
