The cold Monday morning MMP

Man, those look like the swimming dead. Mail them to Swampy before things get out of hand.

Jim

Lucky and WetOne I take it y’all are not recommendin’ your recipes for the blog.

Know what? I have next Monday off from irk. I still am not used to gettin’ these federal holidays like President’s Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day and maybe a couple others I’m forgettin’. Hey, I’ll take it!

Today is sunny, 68 Amurrkin out and nice. Tomorrow the high will be around 45 with lots o’ rain. So, natch, tomorrow I have to go down to the southeast forty. I swear the mention of yuck weather is gettin’ to where it means an automatic irk roadtrip. Go I must, so go I shall. I get paid for travel, so there’s that.

Dindin tonight shall be forage da fridge. That will be about all I can bother to do by the time irk is over today. Moanday mornin’ conference call and various and sundry whingein’ over the phone has taken it’s toll on me today.
.
BooFae I agree hangin’ is too good for some folks. Pointy stick wieldin’ Sri Lankan spiders, however, are always a good choice. Weild? Wield? Neither looks right to me today.

ETA: flytrap egads! Those are some butt-ugly,skeery lookin’ fish!

Well, you ain’t exactly the Queen of Sheba your own self!

Why am I reminded of Sir Elton John on “Inside the Actors Studio”

Host: “When you get to Heaven what are the first words you want to hear from God?”

SEJ: “Well come on in you old Queen”

I almost fell out of my chair laughing.

Jim

I think you mean she addressed John with that ultimatum. AFAIK, Paul never really liked Yoko all that much, so the threat of no nookie wouldn’t have fazed him.

Had my last driving lesson before my road test. I’ve booked further driving lessons in case I fail my road test (which I probably will.)

Oh well. I’ve got other things to worry about.

I was insinuating that Yoko threatened John.

I realize that’s what you meant, but it’s not how the sentence read.

ok so I have to hold down the control key too
I can check multiple pics but only one at a time will delete.

It’s been very tedious but I fit it in between other things.

Parsing Nazi.

True that! I’m more Charlton Heston in Ben Hur. :stuck_out_tongue:

Howdy from da cave. So glad to be home! No OYKW tonight however. BOO! I talked to him a little bit ago. He’s dealin’ with a state audit today, tomorrow and Wednesday, poor thing. He’ll be lucky if he gets outta irk before six o’clock. Anywho, he said he feels so tahrd that when he does leave, he’s goin’ home, make him a sammich and then crash. Hopefully they will be outta there by noon on Wednesday. Think I’ll make myself a grilled ham 'n cheese sammich in a while myself.

Alas.

ETA: First on Two!

I have never before heard NASCAR & wine mentioned in the same conversation, let alone sentence.
I believe Paul (& most other people) believe her name is Yoko, Oh  No

Are you sure that’s not Ben Hurl? :stuck_out_tongue:
Last night was the 7th or 8th storm of 2" or more of snow this winter. The various state/county/local governments are running low on salt; understand they may try pepper instead.

Cap’n what if, instead of just launchin’ regular sharks, we outfitted them with lasers first? That way they could be used as the target painters for military-grade laser-guided smart bombs.

Happy Birthday,** doggio**!

Well, to be brief, I am looking for another job again. There was a bit of confusion about my qualifications so I am no longer permanently employed. This isn’t really a big deal as I will just continue subbing and will at least only apply for jobs that I actually want or at least in the age range that I prefer. Because to be honest, this really wasn’t my cup of tea or even close to it.

So, today I am having an issue with my vision which either means that my sneaky headache is actually a migraine or else my right eyeball is going to fall out or something scary like that. I am one of the lucky people who qualify for coverage under Medicaid whose applications didn’t transfer from the healthcare marketplace website so I redid it about a month ago and I haven’t heard anything yet. I called today and left a message for a call back and that was about 5 hours ago. I’m beginning to think they don’t want to talk to me.

The good news is that RT and I managed to make it out of the driveway this morning and he has safely arrived at his stop for the night. (That also makes it bad news because he’s gone again for two weeks, but I’m trying to be positive.) The other good news is that when he comes home again it will be his birthday so that’s kinda cool.

I skipped out on all my chores today to accept a last minute lunch invitation from OAOASO.
Today was the first I’ve seen of him in over 2 months and the first time we’ve talked in over a week, which was the first time we’d talked in over a month.
He’s supposed to take me out for Valentines Day, we shall sere.

No hug, no kiss but he seemed happy to see me. I don’t know what I feel. I started to call him on the way home and tell him to just forget about Valentines Day but then again it is a free dinner. If he can’t turn he damn phone off though I may just get up and walk out.
Maybe I’ll just take the phone out of his hand and tell whoever, hey we’re getting frisky over here and he’s going to have to call you back later. That would be more fun.

StickyBuns sorry the job didn’t work out for ya. This just means a better one is out there.

So I et me a grilled ham 'n cheese sammich and some chips for dindin. Not exactly a growed up healthy choice. Thus, tomorrow I shall have homemade chikin noodle soup (it has carrots, celery, and onion as well) and a green sallit to make up for tonight. OYKW thinks he’ll be tied up tomorrow as well, so Ima take some soup and some beast stew over to his place on my way to irk tomorrow. That way he can nukulate and eat sump’n more substantial than a sammich as well, poor thing.

For some reason I’m feelin’ the need to install some kind of anti-laser/missle/shark/butt-ugly fish defense system around the cee-mint pond. The feelin’ is almost overwhelmin’!

ETA: Sari I like the way you think re the phone.

I’m on the interstate looking at the travel time sign that says at current travel conditions it is 5 miles & 6 minutes to the next interstate. I’m typing this because I am currently going 0mph. I think the imfo may be just a little off.

ETA: it took me 17 mins to go one mile; I WALK faster than that!

Happy Moanday!! C’mon Firday!!! Is that an attitude or what???

Happy Doggio Day!!!

I had to drive the truck today because **FCD **was going back up to my mom’s to do some manly chores around her house and yard. He’s a good son-in-law. He also went over to my sister’s to cut up some stuff for her, since her husband just had his 2nd spinal surgery, and he can’t be chain-sawin’ anything. My no-load nephew was home for some reason. Did he come out and help his uncle? Of course not. I don’t understand why everyone thinks he’s so wonderful. I think he’s a grade-A jerk!

Anyway, my sweetie took the car because it gets lots better mileage than the truck and because Mom lives more than 100 miles from us. Then on the way back he stopped at our car guys’ place to order new tires - 50K on the originals is pretty good, I’m thinkin’. Anyway, when I got home, we took the car back over there, so I get to drive the truck again tomorrow. Which sucks. Oh well…

**Jim **- sounds like you’ll be within easy scanty-flinging range. And it sounds like I picked a good table for the show, so go me!

My MIL cracks me up. **FCD **will be driving back to Ocala to take them to Duke - IN TWO WEEKS. MIL called today all worried about the snow affecting the trip. Yeah, it might also snow in two weeks, but the stuff that’s happening now will probably be long gone, unless 6 or 8 feel accumulate. She’s a nice lady, but she’s a little bit nuts.

I’m thinking it’ll be another early beddy-bye night. <yawn>

I’m totally cool with not keeping that job. I heard from several people that know me well who were surprised that I was going to work with such young students. I’m afraid I’ve been kind of guilty of ‘it’s an honor to be nominated syndrome’. I’ve applied for a few jobs, gotten about a half dozen interviews and 3 job offers. It’s just kind of surprising that right off the bat all this has happened. But I’ve almost been applying in panic mode like I need any job I can find right now when in fact I can afford to take my time and be choosy about which ones I apply for so that I can do something that I really enjoy. I hope all this rambling makes sense.

I guess what I’m saying is that I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the responses I’ve received so far.

I’m in a few different kinds of physical pain. Yay.
Anyway, back to studying some music. The Mikado opens on Friday!

Mac-n- cheese for supper - not very good, but quick and easy, so it worked.
