The comedy Airplane! was released 30 years ago! Surely you can't be serious!

Would I be accused of {shudder} Junior Modding if I pointed out that one-third of the posts/quotes in this thread are essentially duplicates of earlier ones?

Surely you can’t be serious.

This is a different kind of modding altogether.

This is a different kind of modding.

You know what this is about…you want me to have an abortion

By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

Joey, have you ever been in a Turkish prison?

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit amphetamines.

Yes, yes, I remember. I had lasagna.

No. The white phone.

Ok give me Hamm on 5 and hold the Mayo

It’s really the only sensible thing to do, if it’s done properly. Therapeutically there’s no danger involved.

JAQ, what pedophile priest? You mean the pedophile pilot?

The one played by James Nobel, but upon further investigation he was not only straight and having implied sex with women, but was in Airplane II. Oops!

I think I was crossing his character and the nun reading Boy’s Life.

You’ll be swell! You’ll be great! Gonna have the whole world on the plate! Starting here, starting now, honey, everything’s… coming up… roses!

How come if Airplane II had no ZAZ input it was so much like the first movie? I would swear it was made by the same people. It’s just as funny, IMO. It “looks” right.

Has there ever been another sequel like that? Heck, Lucas couldn’t even make a good SW sequel/prequel and it was his baby.

I don’t think Airplane 2 gets enough credit for being as funny as it is simply because it wasn’t with ZAZ. It’s a super funny movie that’s right up there with the original.

The whole of Shatner’s performance on Alpha Beta base is hilarious. From talking through the monitor/window, “we don’t have a tower”*, “He’s the top dog, big cheese…” “what does thins thing do?” it’s every bit as classic as Airplane!

The whole audience cheered in Airplane! when the jet knocked out the disco radio station antenna. It was a different time, you understand.

*I still use “Why the hell aren’t I informed about these things!” as a comeback

Irony can be pretty ironic sometimes.

We’re not in the past or the present anymore, Elaine. This… is the FUTURE.
