I finally got that…:smack:
Never mind…
No, the white phone…
My favorite sight gag of the movie: the horse in bed with Robert Stack’s wife.
My favorite site gag: All the reporters rushing into all the phone books and knocking them down.
Booths, not books! :smack:
Looks like you picked the wrong week to give up proofreading your posts…
Old lady: Nervous?
Striker: Yes.
Old lady: First time?
Striker: No, I’ve been nervous lots of times.
Striker: It’s an entirely different type of flying, altogether.
Group: It’s an entirely different type of flying
Rex Kramer: Our only hope is to build this man up. We gotta give him all the confidence we can. Striker, have you ever flown a multi-engine plane before?
Ted Striker: No, never.
Rex Kramer: Shit. This is a God damn waste of time. There’s no way he can land this plane.
good luck, we’re all counting on you.
“You’ll have to let yourself out. There’s some juice in the fridge.”
My favorite sight gag is Robert Stack stepping through the “mirror.” So perfectly done.
And my favorite sight gag is Robert Stack dramatically taking off his sunglasses, only to have a smaller pair of sunglasses on underneath those.
It was after the last time I read an Airplane! thread that I developed my drinking problem…(splash!)
Favorite sight gag…the drinking problem.
splash
Do you know what it’s like to fall in the mud and get kicked… in the head… with an iron boot? Of course you don’t, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that’s a dumb question… skip that.
If this thread gets much heavier, the shit’s going to hit the fan!
My favorite scene was Robert Stack driving with a process screen, especially the part where he runs down a bicycle rider who flips over the roof, bike and all, without causing Stack to bat an eye.
And to a kid growing up in a Prop 13 California of crumbling infrastructure, seeing Howard Jarvis stuck in a driverless cab for the whole movie was a nice touch.
Ha! I always forget about that quote, but it makes me crack up every time!
I haven’t felt this awful since we saw that Ronald Reagan thread.
In memory of Bob Sheppard:
“You’re coming in too low…low…low…Echo! Echo! Echo!..Now batting for Pedro Borbon, Manny Mota…Mota…Mota…”
