The Cool Kids, they come to Cali

dopers! Dopers!

disregard! disregard!

::makes puppy dog eyes on behalf of herself and Silver::

Please? Just one little dollar?

LA? ewwww…

(backs away before this thread turns into a massive SF vs. LA war)

I would like to add that waterj2 is now a cool kid too.

::stands next to Nym with a cute, pouty look on her face::

Yeah, just one little dollar? Please?

I’m in for a dollar. Hell, put me down for two dollars… You know what, I’m feeling crazy. Make it an even five.

Hey. Hey. HEY! No slamming L.A. I love L.A. I am an L.A. girl all the way.

And, I am sad to confess, I moved away from CA a while ago. (Family reasons, the move was not done with great joy.) I currently live in a dreary midwestern state where it (shudder) snows in the Winter. OH MY GOSH. I HATE SNOW, I HATE WINTER!!!

California will always be my HOME. (At least I am lucky to be able to get back there pretty frequently. About twice a year.) At this point, Fresno sounds ultra-cool. (Hey - I always pass through it on the 41, to get to Yosemite!) Bakersfield sounds cool. My sister lives in Palmdale (well, Quartz Hill) and she say it is Hicksville. That sounds cool to me! Certainly better than living in a football-obsessed midwestern town where it (shudder) SNOWS.

And even though Glendale really isn’t cool, (Brand Library notwithstanding) it sounds really good right now, especially with (shudder) Winter upon the Midwest.

I just thought I would add…

T minus 10 and counting.

Ok, so I lived and grew up in Cali for 14 years “”"“I was cool man.”""" And now that I’ve lived in Virginia for 7 years that makes me “”"“not cool anymore”""" right?

Whatever man, I’m cool!!!

>>>>beaming<<<<>>>>beaming<<<<

Medea’s Child, are you reading this thread???

Same goes for you, Michi!

9 days!

blush

You know I’ll get out there sooner or later, Do you honestly think I could stay away with my favorite Doper there?

8 days!

This suspense is killing me. This is the slowest count since Dempsey knocked the snot out of Tunney.

I’ve got seven or eight months. Not to deny my coolness, but I think it’s a bit premature.

Incidentally, a friend of mine is considering working for Sun Microsystems in Sunnyvale. When I told him I’d be in San Diego, he was rather psyched that he might be near me, and suggested that perhaps we could be roommates. Later, when he actually looked at a map, he realized that it was San Jose, not San Diego that’s right next to Sunnyvale. I suggested we could perhaps just find a place in Bakersfield, which would only be a four and a half hour commute each way for each of us.

This winter shit here in upstate NY sucks. We had snow yesterday. It hasn’t melted yet. My hands get numb when I ride my bike. I keep reminding myself that a year from now, I’ll be able to drive my Miata over to Mexico with the top down just to kill a couple hours. Then the cynical part of me reminds me that I’ll probably actually be sleep deprived and far from home stuck on a little ship in the middle of the Pacific and desperately wanting to be anywhere on land.

Trust me. You ain’t the only one it’s killing.

You are going to look me up when you get into town… right?

Esprix, 5 weeks to go

waterj, that is.

sniffle and here I thought Esprix wanted to meet ME! :frowning:

[sub]Just teasing, Esprix… :)[/sub]

Well, I’d probably email you for information or something. I don’t think I can simply find you under Esprix in the San Diego phonebook. From what I recall, you’re a tea drinker (no offense, but your selection of fruity alcoholic beverages doesn’t entice me). Perhaps we can find a place that serves some good tea to get together. Was there a thread where you told the story behind the move, because I think I must have missed it.
