The coughing, sneezing, wheezing MMP

I haz a sad about Orlando. I watched a rerun of Big (with the real ending) and that made me laugh.

It’s Tuesday. Nothing more to say about it…BLURF

I am being a slug for one more day seeing as how I didn’t get any sleep last night. I do feel better though. I called the Dr’s office and asked them to send a doctor note to my boss. Don’t want him to think I’m faking. Especially since I will only work one day then be on leave.

What will the day bring? I suspect some nappage. I need things from the store and I could start packing my bag.

I have finished the task I was given yesterday, plus a few items he didn’t mention but I knew would need to be done. However, the boss is no where around, so lalalalalalalalalalala!

Still 45 minutes till lunch. Yes, I eat at 11 because I have breakfast before 6 and I’s stahvink!!! And I’s tahred. And my arm hurts. Whine whine whine whine whine

OH HELL, YEAH!

Dinner chicken is cooking, so all I have to do reheat when I get home(since I only have 8 hours total between shifts).

Breakfast before 6? I didn’t even wake up before six when I was on active duty.

But how will you get ready for the Arnold Classic, now?

Hugs for Sunny

My buddy had a Newfie named Mr King; this huge mass of a dog close to 160 or more pounds I’m guessing. The firs time I was over their house, I was sitting down and Mr King came over and draped his head across my leg and looked up at me like he wanted to see my reaction to the “drool factor”. I just petted him and scratched his head and kept talking as usual. So then he decided to see what I was really made of. He went to his water dish, loaded up, and put his head back across my leg — and I swear to God he looked me right in the eye and grinned. My buddy reacted and shouted “no” but I said it was OK; the pants would wash and everything was fine and I just continued to scratch as usual. Mr King didn’t like most people but from that moment on we were best friends. I think I hurt as much when he passed as his owner did.

Its nothing against Chihuahuas or other smaller rat-like breeds but the big ones have a special place in my heart. My best wishes to you all.

**Fonz **- I’m a morning person. Always have been. My alarm goes off at 5 and I’m in the office between 6:30 & 7, depending on whether I stop to get a soda on the way. Even on weekends, I’m usually up and about before 6 - partly because the dog needs to be let out. But mostly because I feel like the day is wasted if I’m still abed when it’s light out. So, yeah, breakfast before 6.

Meanwhile, lunch has been ingested and I’ve got another task from the boss man. That should kill a couple of hours.

C’mon, Firday!!!

I has a HULK SMASH!-level rage about Orlando. That’s why I’m avoiding both the news and Facebook for the next week. At least.

Mornings… bah! I hate mornings; I wouldn’t wake up before ten, if I didn’t have to go to work.

wait. What “real” ending?

The Brits just got around to putting a clock on a coffee pot?
No wonder we had to build the bomb.

My mom and one of my sisters are leaving on a group tour to Poland. My youngest sis - some of you know her on FB and IRL - made a Farewell to Momma post on FB, listing a funeral home as the location. Yep, she’s a classy one, my baby sis…

But, yeah, Mom is going back to the country of our ancestors as part of a church trip. We may well have some shirt-tail relatives still living there, but anyone stateside who would have known any of them are long dead. I’m not sure Mom even knows what city her people hailed from. Not that she’s on the trip to find cousins.

The interesting part (to me) will be what my exceedingly picky sister will eat. When we were on a cruise together, every.single.night, she ordered steak medium-well and 2 baked potatoes. EVERY NIGHT. She only drinks Coke. She only eats Utz potato chips (the plain ones.) She only likes plain white bread. The only veggies she’ll eat are canned corn, peas, or string beans. Only Kraft mac-n-cheese - don’t even try to sneak in something homemade. I fully expect her to subsist on bread and butter for the week… I find that rather sad.

I had to take Louie out for a walk and of course he wanted to go all the way to our normal spot. It’s so hot out I had to tote him part way back. Thermometer says it’s 88 F with a heat index of 97F.

I still don’t feel too good. I’m glad I decided to stay home today. When I cough it hurts so bad. I have not done much of anything today yet though. I warmed up some chicken soup I cooked last night.

I am so unsure about this trip. I have to go now as this is the only chance scheduling wise. My one clerk is having her other eye done- cataract surgery and my lead clerks husband will home for 2 weeks r&r from Africa. It’s now or very later. Plus the plane ticket is non refundable and was right at $500. Dammit, this was the worst time ever to be sick.

Mooooommm. Hope that arm gets better. Steroids are keeping me alive right now. Hate them but necessary evil.

I finished the second volume of an FDR biography, The Soldier, 1940-1945.

After his death, Eleanor Roosevelt said that his dog Fala liked her just fine, but lay in the middle of the house, where he could see the front and back door, and waited for FDR to come home.

Does it come with a kitteh in the deluxe edition?

{{{sunny and pooka}}}

I’m playing hooky from irk today. When I tested my glucose this morning, it was lower than is safe to drive. Mexican coke for breakfast. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve spent the day on the phone setting up appointments to tour apartments and getting estimates from movers. Damn phone trees. At least it gives you a heads up on how easy it is to access management. I’ve already crossed two off my list because that part was ugly.

I may take a nap this afternoon.

The pierogies I had at some random restaurant on the square in Krakow last year were amazing! That’s part of the reason to travel - local food.

There is a rumor that won’t die that Big had two endings. Here is the Cafe Society thread. http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=109762&highlight=alternate+ending+hanks

They need to add one of these to it.

98° actual temperature, with a heat index of 112°. Ugh. The Boy is planning to play sports ball with friends tonight - I just put the whole case of water in the freezer. Hopefully we’ll get a thunderstorm before we hit the predicted high temperature of 101.

I have potatoes and cabbage that I need to use, so I had planned something with some sausage and rye bread. It’s so hot, though, that we might have ice cube sandwiches and popsicles and iced tea.

Howdy Y’all! Another day survived. YAY! It’s still unogly hawt out and no rain. :dubious: The temp is 96 with a heat index of 104. ICK! OYKW is stoppin’ at the Chinese place down the road to swipe the General’s dindin. Good cause it’s just too hawt to cook even in a temp controlled kitchen. OK, I don’t wanna make dindin so this works for me!

Laterz!
