The coughing, sniffling, sneezing MMP

Mooommm, I’m the opposite; much, much, much prefer Tar-jhay over Wally World.

Twas a good day in NFL playoffs; [del]Titans won[/del] Ballermore lost!

I’d believe him; he haunts us right here in the MMP. :o
Did a really cool photo shoot today; had 4 hrs in there; easily could have doubled it & still not gotten to everything.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 62 Amurrkin out and mostly cloudy (well, completely dark) with a predicted high of <snerk> 69! <snerk> and scattered tstorms or not. Again TWPTB are all willy-nilly with the forecast. We shall deheathenate with the Luteruns this mornin’. Two friends of ours have two kids (well, one each, two total) bein’ confirmed. I have been asked to be a (non-cannibal) Lector for the service and I feel honored that they wanted me to do a readin’. So, we shall do that and then either go grab sump’n eat afterwards or just head back to da cave. That will be decided after the service. Other than that I foresee much sloth. Sup shall be ribeyes, garlic smashed N.O.T., sallit, and bizkits.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Up, caffeinating and breakfasting. Once done with that, I’ll put the potluck dish in the oven and purtify to go heathenate.

Happy Sunday!

Dog and cat fed, dog walked. Now I have to get ready for church. We had crappy, sleety, icy weather, yesterday, when there was supposed to be a special service, the ordination of a priest. She’s serving as a deacon in transition to the priesthood, and the service had to be postponed… She’ll get ordained at the 10:30 service today instead. It’s still icky outside, but main streets have been treated. I live only a short mile from church, so it shouldn’t be too bad.

I envy those of you in the warm.
**
GO CHIEFS!!!**

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to watch the Canes Alumni Game, them home for football.

#GoPackGo

We rose early and went to LaPlata for breakfast. There’s a really good diner there but you have to asrrive early or you wait. We didn’t have to wait!

When we got home, **FCD **wanted me to look at a model he’s working on, since I’ve got the aero engineering expertise in this fambly. I think he understood why I made the suggestions that I did, even tho he didn’t find my solution to be particularly elegant. When working with older aircraft, you don’t have the luxury of being elegant - you just have to go with what works.

Roxy is with her other grandmother today. I’m going to iron a pile of FCD’s shirts while Netflixing. That pretty much sums up my day.

Happy Sunday!!

Morning (almost afternoon) all. Ate a big bowl o’cheerios this morning and coach/referee youth soccer this afternoon from 1-6pm. Weather is clear and 53F today, but a good chance of rain 2day and Wednesday this week.

Found someone who can probably scrap my fallen fence if the fence people can’t/won’t, but they’re closed Sunday, so it’ll have to wait until then.

Also, my new Dell computer arrived, but I haven’t switched over yet, waiting until the great re-furbishing takes place.

FCM, your diner location threw me for a second, I like watching trains at “Virtual Railfan” on You Tube, and one of my favorite stations is La Plata, Missouri. Spaces make a difference…

Cupcakes, the heathen sends his best wishes to your new priest (I guess you don’t call them priestess…)

swampy, the heathen send his best wishes to the confirmation kids and their designated Lector.

Everybody have a good Sunday, now.

Keep your eyes open for a Singer named Zack and ask him if he lived for a while in Pittsburgh. If he says yes tell him I said howdy. Lost trails with him maybe 12 years or so back.

My plans for the day were ruined; battery died in the Sportie and too much damp and leaking in the garage to use the trickle. While the A-N-D have a terrific garage they won’t use. And now in addition to not building a fence for their attack dog they have built a chicken coupe. Visions of the rats and mice (in addition to the raccoons we already have) are running through my brain. I just fargin give up at this point. I’m just covering everything until spring, getting it shined up all nice, and selling it. $7500 for both and you can repaint Bessie some dull solid color and be damned. It just isn’t worth the headaches anymore.

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, got the confirmands confirmed and et a hyuuuuuuge brunch in the Parish Hall afterwards. The families of the newly confirmed put on a spread with bacon, snausage, French toast sticks, pancakes, quiche muffins, snausage, aig and cheese casserole, fruit and a cake. Needless to say we left full and happy. Since then nappage and general sloth have occurred.

CupCakes hope the service went well. Ordinations tend to be looooooooong but very beautiful services.

Yep, it was just over an hour and a half. If the bishop would shorten her sermons, or at least speak less slowly, it might have trimmed things some.

It was two ordinations actually, our deacon plus a guy serving another church. Nice reception after!

**MetalMouse **- it actually is La Plata - pronounced luh PLAY-tuh by the locals.

I’ve been binging The Crown but I just turned to remote over to FCD. I placed an order with Michael’s and I’m waiting for them to tell me I can come pick it up. Other than that - boring afternoon.

Still very windy. So windy, I was reminded that I have to swap out the UPS on the computer, again.

(We had a power burp on one phase–computer restarted, but things like the clocks on other phases were not affected. Of course, the UPS is labeled CompUSA, so it doesn’t owe me anything.)

This is so bizarre. For several days I kept getting weather alerts–cable company, utilities company, apartment complex management, the newspaper, etc. BAD SNOWSTORM COMING, was the gist. A friend said she saw we’re to get 4-8 inches. (Wimpy amounts for other places I’ve lived, but a lot for here.) But the weather forecast was basically “Rain likely, possibly mixed with snow. Total accumulation of a tenth of an inch possible.”

It’s raining and snowing hard as I write this. I’m sure there’s already been at least a tenth of an inch. But beyond the dark clouds, I see blue sky. The sun’s about to come out.

**FCD **and I went to pick up my yarn, then to Red Robin for a light supper. I do love their wedge salad! Now we’re home for chillage!

Mooooooooom, you must really love FCD if you’re ironing his shirts. :stuck_out_tongue:

ruble, I get you re Bessie. I only had my bike out about a dozen times last summer and am beginning to wonder if it’s worth tagging and insuring it (maintenance is taken care of with custom artwork for the friend whose place I store it).

baker and swampy, another heathen who is glad everyone got confirmed and ordained.

On the way home from heathenization, I did a little more shopping for the kitchen table and chairs with nothing to show for it but a new purse, a pair of earrings and some stuff for the studios (Penney’s and Tuesday Morning). I’m thinking that I’ll have to order it online and take my chances, as even the regular furniture stores don’t have anything that small on the floor. I want something that would fit in a college dorm room, but better quality. Not enough margin for brick and mortar stores to devote floorspace to. :frowning:

Rant time over. . It isn’t that so much as watching something beautiful destroyed for no reason. Her and the Sportster have to be a team for me. If not I would run her year round. Having the Sportster as a “mud bike” and her for good works if I had some space to look after the Sportie. But the garage is shot; its wetter in there than it is outside and the one corner is breaking free. And the AND keeping their smallest car blocking the curb in front of our front gate means I can’t get them in and out of the yard. And I would consider just making the parking situation here even worse than they have with their fleet but ------- how long will two Harleys last left unattended at the curb in the inner-city? And if I rent space somewhere ------ will I ever drive there just to ride? Be like the old AMF days when you needed three days to get ready for 1 days ride? Money I could manage but I’m out of space and out of options and to be frank out of inspiration.

When that happens, time to bail. And I feel the need to do a lot of bailing over the next year.

Weather forecast wrong is hardly even newsworthy.
Ruble if you’re serious about getting rid of the ol’ cow…(I mean the bike, not OW)
Went for a trail run in the park today…in shorts & a t-shirt as it was in the 60’s & sunny. So sunny that I really needed a hat (multiple at home) to see.

Dinner was chicken w/ broccoli in olive oil & garlic. Twas good, & there’s (½-priced) Entenmann’s for dessert.

Oh, I’m used to the forecasters being wrong. It was a running joke in Wyoming that they kept getting inches and feet confused when predicting snow. What threw me was all the OMG alerts. I just now checked the forecast again. It hasn’t changed–still minimal precip, cold (but not frigid) temps, and windy, as in winds in the 20-mph range. Wind chill is supposed to be in the twenties. But now they’ve slapped a “Winter storm advisory” over the forecast.

I think the problem is me. I’m just not getting it.

Well, a Catholic Easter Vigil Mass clocks in at 2+ hours. Especially the time when they did 5 out of 7 Sacraments. But the one priest we had must have had a standing noon tee time, he said Mass like an auctioneer: "InTheNameOfTheFatherSonAndHolySpiritTheMassIsEndedLetUsGoInPeaceToLoveAndServeTheLord."

Well, during the Blizzard of '00, they were calling for 3-5 inches. When we already had 13 inches on the ground.:smack:

ruble, one of the reasons that I didn’t ride more last summer was that the bike is housed 18 miles from where I live. Living in an apartment, I have no garage space. :frowning:

doggio, we used to have a priest like that. You always knew when there was an early kickoff. :stuck_out_tongue:
