I took our wonky DVR back to the cable company and got a replacement. It’s even more wonky. It won’t turn on or off with its own remote, and when I tried to program our TV remote to run it, no matter what button I pushed, it moved one channel down. Piece o’ crap!! So I got the digital adapter out of our bedroom - at least we now have TV in the living room. And I’ll take the stoopit DVR back tomorrow and just get another adapter. We never record anyway - might as well save some money.
Doubtful that the cruise will happen - no one has that cruise for under $700 - that’s quite a jump from $459, which apparently was an error. Dammit. Maybe I’ll plan a land vacation for us. Within a short drive, of course.
Meanwhile, I’m building a pseudo chickie-pot-pie for supper. This was well and truly a Moanday…
I’ve been feeling, as Mrs. L.A. says, ‘frumpy’ since I went to the dentist this morning. I wonder if I caught the cold she’s had? I took a Zycam, and some sort of sinus medicine that comes in a green-capped bottle.
“To the shores of rodent-li.”
On the land, air and the cheese.
Oh – and Moom – I promise not to get any closer than Fort Freddy any time this week.
Feel better, all of you [del]sickos[/del] sickies!
Hugs to you and your hubby butters.
Went to the doctor for my quarterly this morning. It was 11 before I got out of there and, since I had fasted for blood work, I was staaaah-vink! I stopped at a Mexican restaurant for steak fajitas (I had a gnawin’ and a cravin’ ). They weren’t too bad, but they could have used half the salt.
This afternoon, I worked on the craft for the heathen children next Sunday. Since the topic for the grown ups is coming out (as LGBTQ, a progressive in a red state, an atheist at the buckle of the bible belt, etc), the craft is a butterfly to go with one of the three books for story time.
“We will fight our mousey battles, in kitchen and the pantry!”
Howdy Y’all! Been a good day here at da cave. We spiffed the place, Netflixed (is too a word!), made and et sup and cleanded the kitchen afterwards. Chillage now ensues.
{{{Butters and Hubby}}} hope it’s not sump’n serious. Glad you’re stayin’ nearby.
Nettie good luck with jury duty and gettin’ a replacement for lost paperirk.

& now a moment of silence…
Tis a sad night here in the Spideykitchen. Whilst preparing dinner an entire clove of garlic () slipped right into the trashcan as I fininshed peeling it.
That leads me to the question. Is there anything else that gets a scampi/butter & garlic sauce besides shrimpies?
Escargot^^^
I agree “Netflixed” is too a word.
Akiko is cuddled up next to me. Good puppy. Our new puppy was supposed to be ready Jan 2, but the breeder has pneumonia.
We tried a new place for dinner last night. We’re trying to find good pizza in the area. The reviews on Yelp were fine, but the meal was uninspired. Yelp is apparently no good at all in this quest, but I’m not sure how else to judge restaurants (without spending a lot more money and eating at every one).
I’m not sure what we’ll do for dinner. Maybe kielbasa?
Since the cruise fell thru, I went ahead and booked us 3 nights in an oceanfront room in Ocean City, MD. We’ll go from here to St. Michaels, wander around there for a while, then head to our hotel in time for 4PM check-in. Once we get there, we’ll decide what else we want to do. It’ll be nice to get away.
Supper was OK, dishes are done, and I’m about to assume the knit position.
I’ve had escargot 'xactly once in my life, and it had so much garlic and herbs on it it might as well have been cardboard.
It tasted good, but I’ll stick to shrimps in future, I think.
I had stuck a rat trap under the house last month, and I tied a length of gardening twine to it so I could get it back without going under the house again. The other day I pulled the twine out to look at the trap…and the trap was gone!
Someday soon I need to gear up and crawl under the house and look for that rat trap, and whoever carried it off. :o
I wish I had a pistol with a silencer. :dubious:
Doctors in Florida must be more sanguine about afib Butters. The last time I was in afib (about 3 years ago), I went to my doc the next morning and he sent me straight down to the E.R. and they zapped me then and there.
I hope the docs can come up with something to keep it from happening in the future. Hubby will be in my thoughts. (I ain’t the praying type.)
Gotta go. Wifey’s on her way home and I gotta start dinner.
I made escargots Friday night.
We have five more cans of snails in the cupboard.
Hope everything is okay with your hubby Butters.
The only good mouse is a dead mouse.
I have considered turning a snake loose in the basement to hunt the mice, but snakes can climb stairs.
Echo’s lesson for this week is one does not bring cow hooves to bed. Mom does not like rolling over on them.
Protein bar for dinner because I took a nap instead of cooking.
I’m hungry.
If I have less than Jack-10 down in Texas Hold-em, I can fold pretty easy.
Evening all. Got a little more of the house packed up for the painting/flooring/furniture, picked up a set of 25 small boxes from a U-Haul place (less than a buck a box) and…nothing much else. Got a book and started reading, trouble is it’s going to fast, just started this afternoon and I’m nearly 20% done.
Sari, agree with your view of meeses…which reminded me of this cartoon: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTg10O9po5cI_CHt7MZujxSXEu2qTmbndPK_tNZyAGufV1JozDz&s
Mooommm, it ain’t a cruise, but if it gets you away from the routine for awhile, good for ya!
I would like to have a Mercedes Benz sedan and go speeding by so people can say “Look at that S-car go.”
All y’all take care.
I still got the seasonal climate change sinuses, since the seasons change every other day. Bu t I did laundry. Chipolte chicken and rice for dinner.
The ocean. In winter.:dubious: May I interest you in a bridge?;)
