A friend of mine had his done in a clinic, apparently on a sort of assembly line thing. IIRC, there were six guys being done that day, all of whom were given the local anesthetic shots one after another. The theory seemed to be that the first guy to get the shot would be nicely numbed by the time the last guy was getting his shot—first numbed, first cut kind of thing. Except the order got mixed; my friend was the last numbed and the first cut. His experience made me vow to never have the procedure done.
