The days are getting longer in the MMP

Happy Sunday!

I’m tired.

It was cold 29 degrees when I got to the park this morning. By the time I left it was warming up.
I met Lily walking as I turned the corner to the park. The 3-pack was there and Lily didn’t want to deal with them, so she walked up to the gate and wanted to leave. Usually, Lily is the hardest dog to get out of the park, she and Echo never want to leave.
Echo walked in, took one look at the 3-pack, crouched down, and wanted to be left alone.
Ripple charges right into the middle of them, not intimidated at all. He actually seems to like playing with them, but he is a bit weird anyway. Any time there is a dog fight at the park he wants to join in, but he is playing. I don’t know if he doesn’t realize it’s a fight, or if he is trying to break it up.
The 3-pack never stays long though, so Lily came back as they were leaving.
Jax doesn’t like the 3-pack either. All he wants to do is chase his ball, but whenever he starts to run, the 3-pack crowds around him and blocks him.
Poor pups, they just want to play. I think it’d be great if they could come individually a few times.

Barky came today, which means some people left early.
Everybody is holding their tongues because they don’t want to get me upset.
It doesn’t help though, because I can feel the tension. It also doesn’t help that some of the dogs I like to see stopped coming to our morning group because of Barky.

Thank y’all for the nice thoughts.
My mother may have pancreatic cancer. It could be something else, we won’t know until she gets more tests done. My ex-BIL died from pancreatic cancer, although he beat it the first time around, and she saw what he went through. That is why she will refuse treatment.
I’m grateful Niece1 is handling everything, so I won’t have to drive down there to do it. Niece2’s ex-bf lives with my mother, and he usually does a lot too. Although he totaled her car a few weeks ago. Thankfully there was a witness that could confirm that the accident wasn’t his fault. He ran off the road and hit a tree, but it was to avoid a head-on collision with a speeding car that crossed the center line. He is okay. My mother says she is not getting another car, she doesn’t want to drive anymore, and so she will depend on family or uber to take her where she wants to go.

The dogs are making me crazy.
Stuff is going on next door, I think. There is a moving van out front and random noise, but I haven’t seen anything. The dogs are just bark bark bark barking at every little noise, and they want in and out.
My neighbor got out of the hospital, but she is still staying with her niece.

Red, do be careful. It’s my understanding that the home tests have a lot of false negatives.

I thought I was the only person who hates ranch dressing. Ugh! That stuff is nasty.

I’d love to see The Blue Man Group, except it means having to go somewhere, and getting dressed appropriately to go somewhere, and having to deal with people when you get there. Sucks all of the fun right out of it.

Cookie, you have a very prettty cat.

I need to figure out what is wrong with my phone. I’ve been oversleeping because my alarm is not irking. I’m having a problem with text messages too. Although I think the text message issues are with the other phones. I found a charge on my Best Buy account that is… I have no idea what it is. I think it has something to do with my son’s computer maybe? Some kind of renewal charge. I’ll call them tomorrow. We have to put in for his unemployment today as well and I’m not sure how that is going to go since we are into the extended period now.

I friend’s BIL died, and I’m debating planting a tree in his name, or waiting until they start a fund for his children. The fund for his children is probably the better choice, as he was only 39 and his children are young.

Hm, well, daughter won’t be calling today because they have to move all their furniture to the garage so realtor can photograph the rental house they’re in, so it’ll just by sonny boy. I think everyone else will wait until after I get the epidural. So today I’m just–You’ll never guess!–lying down.

cupcake, I could clear out the hate-filled WBC in a hurry. Set up giant speakers and let me belt out “Born Free” as off-key as I can go, and they’ll be gone before the smoke from their brimstone hits. (I wouldn’t sing religious songs because that’d be sacrilegious.) And that is one smart dog you have there. Check his paws to see if he’s attached springs.

red, I’m so sorry you’re under the weather. When will you get the COVID results?
shoe, Hope you do do that woo-hoo that you do so well.

Oo. Now I want an Army of Roombas! We’d roll our way to wherever things suck. Putin’s military would cower in our path. Arsonists and child molesters would flee at the distant rumble signaling our approach . We’d fight for truth, justice, and the very clean way…or something like that. Why yes, I do have too much time on my hands. Why do you ask?

I forgot this important bulletin: the Cheerios I had this morning had heart-shaped bits in with the O’s–Cheeri-hearts, if you will. And they work! My heart is cheerier just looking at them. And you are what you eat, right?

nellie, I took a home test and it showed negative. Doc will likely want to do an office test. I’ve not been hungry or thirsty all day. I did bake a pre-prepared eggplant casserole that I’m fixing to have a dish of. I just hate feeling like this.

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, achieved sloth and nappage. Chili/cheese/onion/slawdawgs were consumed and fartfest ensues. Got the church all Lentified (is too a word, I just made it up!) after the service and the ashes are all ready for the Ash Wednesday service. There’s a baggie of palm ashes in the Sacristy. I find that both disturbin’ and comfortin’. The biiiiiiiiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow and 'tis a bit rainy out. All is well in swampland.

red hope you feel better soonest and glad it’s not the plague.

taters as long as Polar approves of the color it will be fine. Yay for the young muscle to help with the dumpster.

flyboy improvised Eggs Benedict sounds good to me.

Die one does not let good wine go to waste, so get to drinkin’.

CupCakes did you feel the WBC love this mornin’? :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Also kudos to Mauser for his mad ninja like pizza stealin’ skilz!

Nellie You had hearts and o’s in your Cheerios? It looks like you have a secret admirer at General Mills!

Evening all. Sammiches were planned for tonight, but decided I wanted something a bit more filling, so had the meatloaf dinner at Logan’s with salad and rolls. Twas’ quite good and they weren’t at all busy. Still cold outside (41F right now), but we’re supposed to be in the 70’s by week’s end and no rain in the forecast.

Nellie, I’ll sing bass with you on that; I don’t sing good but I do sing loud.

Sari, the drama of the dog park may be wearing you down; is there another dog park near you that you can visit? And best wishes to your Mom.

OK all, take care and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.

nelliebly, back in the late 90’s a group of friends, of which I was one, went to 10th and Gage, across the intersection where theWBC would picket. It was close to Christmas, so we belted out Christmas carols. Some were secular and some religious, some of us were Christian and some weren’t. Hey, one guy was Jewish, but ti didn’t matter to him, as our singing annoyed them. We came back the next Sunday and they already had a sign specifically for us. We were the “Sodomite Singers” Sniff, it makes me proud to this day. And we didn’t do such a bad job singing “Lo, How a Rose Ere Blooming” either. But the best was when we sang “Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly” and really hollered out “Don we now our GAY apparel.”

I cleaned, I watched hockey, I napped.Alex Catt hornked on the couch.

To be fair, my Roomba tends to do things like try to eat the cat, and lock himself in the bathroom and beat his head against the toilet.

That’s a good thing. Although they’d protest Our Lord Himself if they met him.

That needs to be a drag queen choral group.

{{{{sari and Mom}}}}

Reminds me of Gordie and the Rum Cake Caper of 2011

I’ve given up on my roomba. Well granted it’s a knockoff, but the damn thing is so stupid, it gets lost under the coffee table, and where it does go it doesn’t do a very good job. So it’s going to the “we’ll take anything with a cord” recycling center soon.

Well, you know, he looks so good in his uniform. Oh, you mean the company. Well, the hearts are in all the boxes. I guess that means everyone will be cheerier.

Sari, I hope your mom doesn’t have cancer and that whatever it is, the cure is easy. My goodness, that’s enough tough stuff for you. {{{sari}}}

red, sending good health vibes your way.

You’re hired! We can drive away the most tone-deaf of maurauders!
Let me just notify PETA so they’ll understand why dogs are crying.

Baker, I love that story. I hope on the way home, Deck the Halls" has been stuck in their heads ever since. They were at the DC Women’s March in 2017 with HUGE (like 15 feet high) banners proclaiming the usual sludge. Everyone completely ignored them. It was like they were invisible and on Mute. They clearly hated it.

Could it be trained to only go after Russian blues in uniform?

Sounds like the rest of the Roomba Regiment after Saturday night leave. It’ll fit right in.

I haz a jealous! I’ve never managed such a feat before, totally awesome!

We’ve tried several generations of roombas and haven’t found the trick either. We might want to try again though. We tried several generations of automatic litter boxes before we found our litter robot.

The others would break and jam, the one we have now (at only 499.99) works great. Except that GG is starting to pee outside because he can’t figure out to turn around and stick his head out while using it. Every other cat we have ever seen use one of them almost automatically turns into the correct peeing place, GG stands in the litter with his face pressed to the back wall while peeing on the outer edge or hanging his butt out to poop.

I’m jealous. I’d really like to see them.

sari I’m sorry about your mom. I hope the news is better than feared.

 :joy: Bless his fuzzy little heart.
