The days are getting longer in the MMP

Turns out the tail light assembly was only $390.

We had leftover pot roast for dinner last night. Tonight we’ll have leftover taco meat, as burritos this time instead of tacos dorados.

Happy early evening all. Lawn Mower has been retrieved and placed back in the garage, considering it’s 42F right now and a 90% chance of rain tonight, it’s not going to get a workout anytime soon, but nice to know it’s ready to go. Got my 600 yards of backstroking in and watched soccer on the TV, so all that’s left is to take the garbage out to the curb and fix some dinner. Then readin’ and internettin’ may commence.

FCM, you have a talent for getting the most “awwwwww” pictures…

flyboy, glad things are warming up in the house. I’m not quite as extreme, I tend to leave my thermostat at 68F all the time, except before I take a bath, when I bump it up to 76F for a bit. Got natural gas for the heating unit, as do most places here (or else electric, don’t know of any with oil or coal). And good luck with the car insurance; when my house flooded 3-4 years ago, I kept every receipt for the insurance and got 100% back…hope you can get a good settlement.

Oopsie, nice pics and glad the gig went well. Hope the class is good, too.

nellie, BBBoo, I can still make appointments (on-line) for the Medical center I use. Next scheduled one is probably the end of April since my insurance only covers one check-up per year.

quietly, congrats on the Girl’s winning. Water polo is not that big here in Ali-bama, but I was surprised when I googled and found the local High School does have a team. But since tackleball gets 90% of the coverage here, nobody hears about it.

boo fae, hope shadow’s appetite returns. Mine has never left…

OK, need to fix something edible and be about the evening. All y’all take care.

When it got cold outside, in December, I brought the Christmas cactus inside. With the hard freeze over, not-too-cold weather, and some rain and sun, I took it out a couple/few weeks ago. With two nights of temperatures in the 20s, this morning it was all fallen over like the swingers in the hot tub in Eating Raoul when ‘Paul Bland’ threw the electric space heater into it. I brought the plant back inside, and we’re hoping it recovers.

I love the bangs, dollface!

Nah. The game of “Hide The Sausage” is still played the same way.

Apology rejected. That is one cute babby.

Ohhhhh, no. No, you didn’t.

I see what you did there …

Made Bo season chicken with Cajun-ish rice and lemon pepper broccoli for dinner. I’m watching the Jeopardy College Tournament of Champions Some of these folks’ parents should ask for a refund.

Ya think? :croissant: :bread: :baguette_bread:

Looking good!

Indeed!

I really miss the last thing before going to bed is the closing the doggie door and locking the door. I’ve actually left the door unlocked quite a few times since Cin went. I just really miss Cin.

I love the cat pics. Keep them coming! GG has a REMARKABLE tail.

oopsie I’d love to hear you sing someday. I bet you and my friend Vanessa could do some good.

I’m glad shadow is ok, Boo fae

FCM Always love to see the kiddo pics.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

You don’t look at all like I visualized you, tho for the life of me I couldn’t tell you what I thought you looked like - I think I saw you as dark brunette. Still, you gussy up real good!

Up, dressed, fed, and waiting for my daughter’s call to meet her for babby transfer. I’m not looking forward to the switch to DST on Mar 13 - it’ll be back to driving in the dark for a little while. Dammit. At least it shouldn’t last for too long.

No other plans for today, especially since it’s supposed to be a cold one. I’m just hoping the babby isn’t as cranky today. The last couple of days, he cried a lot and wouldn’t fall asleep unless I was holding him. I learned to keep my tablet at hand so I could read while he naps, but this can’t continue - he’s growing so fast, he really weighs my arm down! :open_mouth: Lucky for him that he’s cute.

And so it begins - Happy Thursday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 58 Amurrkin out with a DENSE FOG ADVISORY this mornin’ and a predicted high of 85 and N.O.S. for the day. I spent time yestiddy berating askin’ people for availability to serve on Sundays and makin’ a spreadsheet (I remember how to do that still!). Today I shall make the schedule up and hopefully get it out to everyone. Then I can start worryin’ about April. Sup shall be grilled chikin sallits and cheesey garlic bread.

Oopsie you do gussie up good!

BooFae glad Shadow is OK. Hope he starts to eat with the medicine.

Nameless love GG’s tail!

red bein’ as I am a Verger it is a given that I will serve at least two Sundays a month. The other Verger will be havin’ back surgery in the near future which means I shall be on stage every Sunday. That’s cool cause I knew this stuff when I signed up for the gig.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah,

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Morning all. Up way to early today, nappage is a distinct possibility. Need to do banking and renew my library card (I actually check out very little, but being a library member is important, IMHO). Gym is also on the menu for sometime today. Arms are a bit achy, so either the exercise is working or I’m doing it wrong…

Swampy, it’s due to get to 65F today, but more rain tonight is going to cool us back to the 40’s for Firday. Glad I’m getting most of the out-of-house running around done today.

OK, on to the morning internettin’. Everyone have a great Thorsday.

Afternoon, mumpers! Thank you for the good wishes for Shadow, he has had some medicine and is starting to perk up a bit. We went grocery shopping and I picked up some fancy (and therefore very expensive) food for him - it’s very finely flaked tuna (with prawn, crab, or whitebait) in broth so it’s got a lot of moisture which should do him good. He has eaten a few teaspoons of that, I put a dose of Metacam on it and he licked most of it off as far as I can tell.

He’s had other little bits of food so I am relieved that he’s eating again, even if it’s only a little bit to start with. Hopefully the soft food will help if his mouth is sore, and the meds will help with the pain and inflammation. He’s definitely looking more interested in things today and has moved away from the fire so that is good news.

Oopsie lovely pics! I’m glad the performance went well, would love to hear it sometime.

flyboy sorry to hear the insurers are being a pain, they are not great at taking into account what you’ve spent on the car and what condition it was in beforehand, just what they see in front of them.

VanGo sorry to hear you are missing Cin so much. Big hugs to you.

Right…off to do more of what I allegedly get paid for!

A skiff of snow on the ground this morning; the first (and likely last) of the winter. Somebody is coming today to do a mold check. It’s just another one of those things you need to do before putting a house on the market. We have several bags of clothing to take to a homeless shelter this afternoon.

Currently being an Evil Grandmother - I decided Toby need to learn to self-soothe, and all if a sudden, it seems to be working - the crying stopped. For the last 2 days, he wanted to be held all the time, and honestly, I don’t think there was any more to it than wanting to be held. But even then, after a few minutes, he’d start getting cranky again. He’s fed, he’s in a clean diaper, so near as I can tell, it’s just attitude. They start so young!

So for the few minutes that it will last, I’ll enjoy the quiet. I’ll be glad when he’s a tad more mobile and starts to be interested in toys. This lump phase is getting old…

Yeah, Mean Grandmother here.

Oh, boy. I get to (read: “get to”) work with @$$hole Manager today. I’m not looking forward to coddling his fragile ego until sundown.

BUT! InCrPoo is scheduled to come back in this afternoon. So sayeth the posted shift schedule.
I shall draw on oh-so-subtle eyeliner & glue on the battin’ eyelashes shortly, just in case that’s true.
If he does arrive, I also shall tell him how happy I am that he is not dead. (This is a true statement.)

However, he’s been knocked off his pedestal a bit, by Gentleman Caller who, yanno, actually shows interest.

Those little rituals are the hardest to give up once they’re gone.
I’m so sorry you lost your Cin.

Please accept this virtual hug: {{ huggzz }}

Another short sort. Poo. it’s cloudy right now.

: builds cheap doghouse, hurls rock through roof :

I laughed like a hyena at this one. Well played, sir.

Ah, yes. In the “floofy tail/kitteh pic” category, while GG is top contender, Nikki would like to be considered:

ETA: that’s supposed to say “floof tail.” Damn you autocorrect. Damn you to he’ll.

Looks more like he says “zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Apparently grandspawn was tired - he’s been snoozing in his swing. And my Dr office just called - I need to see the vampire on Moanday and then I have my appt the following Moanday - it’s that time again I guess.

Afternoon all.

We had a delicate sprinkling of snow earlier too- there’s proper snow on the hills, I can see it, but ours only lasted minutes.

I still have the World’s Most Boring Essay to work on, and I have a severe case of the dontwannas. I’ve tidied up, gone walkies, done shopping (though the car is exhaustless, it’s now drivable, thanks to a very nice person who removed the bit trailing along the floor for me yesterday- I admit I come over all helpless and girly when it comes to cars), and I’m running out of options to procrastinate that are even faintly convincing as necessary. So far, I’ve done a little background reading and written about 50 words of notes. It’s a 3000 word essay, this may take some time…

I opened the door this morning, and was surprised by snow. Fortunately it was only an inch. Since it was so cold (about 23°) it was light and fluffy and brushed off of the Jeep easily.
