The days are getting longer in the MMP

Yaaaaay! I got a phone call. There was a cancellation, so my appointment got moved up to Monday! I wish it were tomorrow, or, truth be told, 15 minutes from now, but Monday is better than Thursday.

And the pup stopped crying, which is a relief. Maybe they should get a second dog. It seems like dogs wouldn’t be as anxious if there were another pack member around.

Howdy Y’all! Been a very warm and slothful day here. We even did some day drinkin’ on the back porch this afternoon. Gin and tonics at two in the afternoon on a weekday stills feels so decadent!

MetalMouse I see a piece of cake by your name. Happy Doperversary!shoe

shoe don’t you just love the term “gentleman caller!” When we were in the courtin’ stage of our relationship that’s what I called OYKW. I would introduce him to folks as my “gentleman caller.” He hated that I did that, which, of course, only encouraged me. Ya know, it’s a wonder he stuck around. I must have really smited him. Nikki has a gorgeous floof tail. Glad InCrPoo is back at irk and all better.

nuts if need be, I can put on my lecture hat and lecture you about gettin’ the essay done. Just let me know.

CupCakes are Calvin and you kin?

Die you have no idea. I know such weird church stuff. For instance, I explained church customaries (procedures for weddings, funerals, etc)to our Senior Warden today and let him know where he could find them. I am kind of a church nerd. However, I did have fun pointin’ out that they probably needed updating which is a Vestry job and that since I am no longer on the Vestry it ain’t my problem. It’s the little things, ya know.

Sunny I’m done bein’ church janitor Junior Warden and with the Vestry. I am still a Verger and took over the schedulin’ from the other Verger because she is due to have back surgery shortly after Easter and will be incapacitated for a while. Plus, apparently I did not think I have enough aggravation in my life.

flyboy excellent that the company is coverin; your deductible!

nellie yay on the appointment!

I restrained myself for dessert tonight. I only ate 3/4 of a sleeve of Thin Mints.

Getting this house ready for sale is costing a small fortune. Every person who walks through the door wants a minimum of $2000 to do any work, and this place is actually in very good condition. We’re bumping up against $10,000 at this point. Of course, we’re trying to short-circuit delays due to mold, roof issues, etc. that an inspector might have a problem with, so maybe it’s worth it. Maybe.

Not only are you as cute as a button, you are glowing with good health. Hurray!!!

I always smile when I see Alex Catt, he’s just so chill.

We both laughed.

I stitch in the “guest” room which has a bed for the cats to snooze on and a nightstand in front of the window so they can watch the birds. The nightstand is far enough away from the bed to allow me to change the sheets as well as being far enough away from the window to allow the curtains to open and close.

The gaps are also wide enough to allow a big kitten to relax and fall off, and I laugh myself into tears every time I watch his tail corkscrewing around while he tries to remember which way is up.

And I read it to mean a flood of flowing fur. Great pic and of course your lil old lady gets all the awards she wants just because she is soooo sassy.

Once again, I’ve run out energy. My hip and back don’t like air pressure changes and the storm yesterday did a number on me. I still went to surplus produce and took the leftovers to my ex-office. The security guard saw me pull in and jogged over to start carrying the boxes in. He’s a single dad with two teen aged boys, he loves being able to get first dibs on free food.

Sorry for the double post but @Seanette what do doves like to eat? We’ve got some ring-necked doves coming for seed so as long as I’m feeding them, I’d like to give them what they like and need.

I think were somewhere between 15 and 2500 feet and it snowed here and lasted about an hour and the mountains are mostly white and the ski places are happy since ski seasons extended til the end of march at least …

Its getting so crazy that my aunt is looking into mobile homes since shes said in her words for 40 years " she ain’t gonna live in one of those tin coffins" and if anyone wonders whats contributing to the problem? this is part of a house listing we were sent:

:“ALL-CASH INVESTOR “FLIP” IN WEST LANCASTER (Cornet Lot). First time on market in over 60 years (original owners) with NO HOA. This 3-bedroom, 2-bath single story flip is ready for your crew to start the demo and turn it into a “potential” six-figure payday. Local comps (within one-mile, renovated) have sold within days of being listed for as much as $36, 000 over asking. Simply run the comps to verify. Perfect for the investor who is looking to renovate the property and pour new life back into some old bones. Low-ball offers will not be entertained/responded to.”

and they’ll get between 3-450,000 from someone that will rent it out for 2.5 k a month and screw us little guys

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. There is Dense Fog out right now.

.also…dog fart

Depending on which site I choose, my altitude varies from 118-154’ - or maybe it’s the difference between the ground and the roof? It’s probably pretty accurate to say I’m at sea level - close enough, right?

Apparently, Toby wasn’t feeling well yesterday . My daughter put him to bed around 8 and he slept till around 5 - this on top of being cranky much of the day. We’ll see if he slept it off. I hope so - I had a broken night and I’m really not in the mood for a babby today. At least it’s the end of the week.

I’m thinking I may take the trash and recycling when I’m done babysitting - the convenience center is less crowded during the week than on weekends. In fact, maybe I can load it all in the trunk and not have to take the truck. Tho the truck does need to be driven. Too early for such decisions.

Happy Firday!

Good MornIn’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 60 Amurrkin out with yet another DENSE FOG ADVISORY until ten a.m. and with a predicted high of 81 and N.O.S. for the day. I shall deal with candle duty over to the church house this mornin’. I got the schedule finished up and will email it to all involved this mornin’. Other than that I foresee much sloth and uselessness. Sup shall be majik intartoobz pizza and sallit.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. I suppose I must also purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Such bother!

Happy Firday Y’all!

We supposedly had fog, but it was too high off the ground, so I’m calling it a low overcast. Toby seems to be in a better mood today - we’ll see if it lasts. Meanwhile, I’m having some tea, because.

Unexpected day off from building the stupid musical here. The guy I’m working with says he’s got 7 inches of snow at his place and doesn’t want to drive today. I’m fine with that. I may venture over to my shop and do some work later. Maybe not. Maybe I’ll take a nap. My knees could use a day off. There’s only about 4 inches of slippery looking slush at my house.

doggio Hope the dog fart wasn’t bad enough to cause the fog. And skritches to Alex.

nellie, I’m so glad you’ll get in to see the doc sooner rather than later.

I need to take a break from the Ukraine news as well. I made the mistake of taking a nearly 3-hour nap after getting back from the hospital with overlyboy & overlyhusband in tow, so I was obsessively watching the news until nearly midnight, only to resume again when I got up.

All the appointments went well yesterday. I thought overlyboy was a flight risk for a bit when they were taking his blood - all 7 vials of it, which is a lot for someone who’s only had a blood stick, and that was when he was a baby. We left around 8 a.m. and didn’t get back until 2 p.m., partly due to poor driving conditions but mostly because of the millions of appointments (which I appreciated - they were so very patient answering our questions). I guess this is really happening.

I guess I should go shower and do work. I don’t want to, though. My pajamas are cozy and I would rather not expend mental energy today.

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s Friday, always good news, and it’s payday for me too. That means I’ve paid the usual bills (they’re all direct debit except my credit card), booked my car in for an MoT and service (paid in advance) for the middle of March, and deducted the approaching payment for my car insurance renewal. Back to being a pauper!

Shadow continues to improve, he has been eating the very soft gooshy food I bought for him although he did look somewhat suspiciously at the “shrimp”. He is a British cat and understand’s it’s not a shrimp, it’s a prawn. However, since it didn’t have mayo on it, he was not sure he wanted to eat it. He’s had most of the fish stuff around it and is now sitting on my lap purring. That’s making life difficult 'cos I’m supposed to be working!

nellie great to hear that your appointment got moved up, anything closer than before is a good thing.

I’ve been keeping an eye on the Ukrainian news, one of my colleagues is from there and still has family in the country, so she is very worried about them. I believe she’s managed to contact them and knows they are safe but it’s still a very difficult time for her.

We are off to see some bands tomorrow night, a friend is coming too and will be staying overnight here. Guess that means I need to vacuum the floors today, just enough to convince her we don’t live in total squalour!

Glad your appointment got bumped up nellie.

Good luck on your son’s upcoming procedure wordy.

I, too, need a break from news coverage in Ukraine. The place where my great grandparents (with my grandfather in tow) emigrated from was in Poland when they left, but at times under Ukrainian or Russian control. I don’t know of any distant family still there, but I’m guessing that they’re there.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, bed stripped, a load of towels / sheets ready for the dryer and a load of jeans on deck. Housecleaning and grocery shopping are on the agenda today.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

I thought of the exact same strip when I saw the post.

“Not my circus; not my monkeys.”

I got enough on my hands with my own Monkey and his cabin fever. Even Nikki was begging at the door to be let out this morning.

Joke’s on them - we got a couple inches of snow overnight.

… and now they’ve tracked snow into the house, and probably onto the bed. FML as the kids say.

It’s quiet… it’s too quiet. The babby had a bottle, then crashed almost 2 hours ago. FCD went back to snooze a bit before then. I was playing some stupid games on my tablet, fighting to stay awake. The caffeine - it does nothing!!! And it doesn’t help that it’s dreary and cold out - makes a body wanna crawl under the covers.

Plus I’m hungry - eating breakfast before 6 means I’m starving before 10. But if I eat now, I’ll want supper at 3. That’s not a good plan. Maybe another cup of tea will fool my stomach…

Morning all. Brain wanted me to get up at 6am; Body dope-slapped Brain and let me sleep until nearly 8. Rain is gone but it’s only 37F outside and only getting to 48F today, so the rain washed out all the higher temperatures.

Swimming is on the schedule for later today, if I get another 600 yards in I’ll have done a mile this week, which I think is pretty good for not have swam in years. I do the backstroke, it lets me keep my glasses on and I don’t have to stick my head in the water all the time.

nellie, glad the appointment has advanced, maybe you can get lucky with another cancellation.

talkie, I’m with overlyboy, the medicos getting 2 vials from me during my annual checkup is hard enough for me to take.

FCM, hope Toby is doing better.

Cookie, nothing about a house is cheap anymore; hope there is nothing major that really costs money.

I took a look just for grins, and it’s about 225% of original value, which isn’t bad but nothing like the crazy areas out West. Not planning on selling anytime soon, house is just the right size and placement so no need to go anywhere yet.

OK, onward to the morning’s internettin’ and then face the day. All y’all take care.

Teach me your ways, oh wise one.

I’ve got to get blood drawn on Moanday - either 2 or 3 vials - and I need to remember to drink a lot of water before I go, then look away when the tech does his/her thing. If I think about what’s going on, I get woozy. Heck, I got woozy when my daughter got her ears pierced, and I wasn’t even there - her dad took her. Yeah, I’m a wuss when it comes to blood and pain.

I’d love to get an honest-to-goodness appraisal on my house, but I don’t want to pay for one, and I’m not going to waste a realtor’s time since we absolutely have no intention of selling or anything else. We did a refi 2 years ago and I’m quite happy with the rate and terms. I went to Redfin to get their appraisal - even editing the info about the house, but for some reason, it wouldn’t take my input. Still, their “appraisal” is twice what we owe, even not considering the finished basement and the workshop.

FCD is up - I made him a late breakfast. I’m having a Diet Coke to still the rumblies before I lunch. Toby is still snoozing, but he’ll wake soon, I’m sure. Mostly a quiet day so far.
