The Dems will sweep into power in both the House and the Senate as well as the Presidency

I would agree but then I remember Bush’s re-election. Nope, not gonna happen.

Dunno about that. That depends on how much power the Pubs have in Congress and how obstinately obstructive they decide to be.

Yes, let’s hope that the country doesn’t turn into Buffalo. And Cleveland. And St. Louis. Toledo. Bridgeport. Rochester. Wheeling. Philadelphia. Providence. Albany. Scranton. Pittsburgh. Canton. Syracuse. Flint. Gary. Cincinnati. Milwaukee. Binghamton. New Haven. Wilkes-Berre. Fort Wayne. Youngstown.

The entire Rust Belt is because of Democratic mayors.

:smack::eek::confused::dubious::(:rolleyes:

That would be nice.

Or if even the* obligation *to be responsible came hand in hand. Alas, no. There are some people who want power so that they can do good, like some people want money so they can be more generous.

We’ve never had too many of them, never even enough of them. They are not abundant. Plus, they tend not to be as dedicated and committed as the greedy and the ambitious.

If that happens, you’re right, and for one simple reason. Hillary Clinton is smarter and has the advantage of hindsight.

Every time the Democrats take everything, they lose it huge in only two years. It’s happened now four times in a row. It happened to Obama, it happened to Clinton, it happened to Carter, it happened to LBJ. Actually, LBJ and Carter didn’t lose control of the HOuse or Senate, but they did suffer big losses. But you get the point. Democrats win it all, then lose 40-50 seats just two years later.

Hillary Clinton is going to want to make damn sure she doesn’t become victim#5.

You know, there’s more to winning elections than trying to win the next one. LBJ gave us the Civil Rights Act and Medicare, Obama gave us the Affordable Care Act. Bill Clinton gave us peace and prosperity. What has any Republican president ever given us? Tax cuts for the rich? Needless war?

The poll you linked to was an NBC news poll, June 6 - 12, and had Clinton at a 7 point lead.

The latest Bloomberg poll,(the first major poll since the Orlando shooting), June 10 - 13 had Clinton with a 12 point lead

Wait until Sanders starts campaigning in earnest for Clinton, and urges all of his supporters to do whatever it takes to stop Trump.

Wait until Trump says another asinine thing. Just yesterday, he accused US troops of stealing money in Iraq. Just outright accused veterans of being thieves.

Let’s keep track of who Trump has insulted so far this campaign. Probably more to come:

Women
Blacks
Hispanics
Muslims
Handicapped
Veterans
Media
Scientists
Judiciary

But he has certainly locked up the Angry Uneducated White Male vote. They’re solid.

Well, Nixon gave us the Plumbers, and both he AND Reagan gave us reasonably impeachable offenses as opposed to Oval Office blow jobs (which they both might have benefitted from. :p)

To be fair, Eisenhower did pretty well, and Bush 1 wasn’t terrible.

So you’re saying he was a blue-collar job creator.

Euphonious Polemic, he’s insulted the angry white uneducated males, too.

They’re just too angry and uneducated to REALIZE he’s insulting them…

You may have to add “Military” on that list, as Trump actually attempts to back-pedal his remarks yesterday. Hope Hicks, his spokeswoman and a person who no longer has a Twitter account, spent a good part of last night “clarifying” that Trump was speaking about Iraqi soldiers stealing US money, not American soldiers… despite the fact that Iraqi soldiers were never tasked with payouts.

It certainly is true that a lot of money sent to Iraq for post-invasion reconstruction went mysteriously missing, but I doubt the guys who took it wear uniforms.

Republican leadership - he basically just told them to shut up today.

New Marquette poll: Clinton leads Trump as Republican voter enthusiasm dampens (emphasis added)

It’ll get worse as he keeps getting into a snit and pulling press credentials, driving the media to guerilla journalism tactics like getting candid recordings of his rallies (with the loudest knuckle-draggers getting the most airplay).

Of course not, for the same reason neither leprechauns, ghosts, nor djinn were tasked with payouts. When the bundles of payout cash were being distributed, there was no such thing as an Iraqi soldier – the geniuses in charge of the occupation had disbanded the Iraqi army, no doubt hoping to reap the well known social-stability benefits of throwing hundreds of thousands of young men out of work. :smack: :smack:

Gosh, what are you saying?

Now, remember, all you Trump supporters, be sure to go vote this December! Make America Great Again!

That’s a great argument that I’ve made many times myself. Now what do you think Clinton and embattled Senate Democrats(there will be about 10 of them in 2018) are going to prioritize?
