For the past week, I have been unable to log in to Netscape; every single time I get the error message “The document contained no data.”
What causes this? Is there any way to get around this barrier?

Your cache is corrupt.
From the Netscape Knowledge Base:
I like Bob Scene’s answer better.
In the future, if you have computer technical problems, first try searching deja.com with the exact error message. I found this answer on the first hit.
My cache is not corrupt. I clear it out practically every day. More to the point, I cleared it out before attempting to connect. Not only that, I opened Uninstaller and ran Quick Clean, which emptied caches and Recycle Bin and cleaned the registry. Then I defragged my hard drive. Then rebooted.
None of that helped.
Oh, BTW, I Googled the error message before posting here. Most of the results had to do with specific situations that didn’t apply to my case.
So does no one know anything about this?
When troubleshooting computer problems, it helps to know what you’ve tried before you ask for help. I still think it’s a corrupt cache. Perform the following steps:
Problem solved. Both folder and history file will be rebuilt the next time you open Netscape. If you’re not completely satisfied, I’ll refund your purchase price.
I guess this is a PC running W98? Frankly, there isn’t enough data in your question to figure out the answer. Doyou mean you cannot use Netscape or do you mean that when you try to visit NEtscape.com you get that message?
Why don’t you use IE along side Netscape? They work fine together. When one bitches, use the other, works fine for me.
I tried your suggestion, evilhanz. Still got “The document contained no data.” (What does this mean, anyway?)
As for your refund offer, well I guess I got my money’s worth of your advice.
handy, the Netscape service I’m unable to access is called Site Central. After you do the login, a screen says “Please wait while we retrieve your account” and it always gets stopped there. Site Central is a free web page builder and hoster. It sucks. They have not been taking good care of their server, apparently. I want to move my pages from there as soon as I can find a good deal on buying a domain name and a server to host it.
I can log in to Site Central from work (where they have a super-duper high speed connection, no doubt), but from home it’s impossible. It didn’t use to be like that. This problem just started about a week ago.
As for IE, that was the first dodge I tried. Didn’t work any better there. The corresponding IE error message is “The page cannot be displayed” and the title bar reads “Cannot find server.”
