It’s another grand and glorious day in southern Merrylande!! I dreamed about my upcoming Fest last night, but in the dream, my house turned into a loft apartment and all the Dopers who showed up refused to identify themselves, so I don’t know who attended. So be warned, if you come to my house, you better tell me who you are!
Hugs and happy thoughts for all the sickies!
I am neither gay nor gray, despite being ever-so-slightly more senior than the bear. Good clean living, you know!
I shall attempt to get back to the pass office this morning and do whatever I have to do so I can get a base pass. Since **FCD **will probably be in PA next week, if anything comes up on this airplane, I’ve got to go over and deal with it. Lucky me.
Other than that, nothing exciting. Lots to get done. I’ve got ground beef in the fridge thawing for sketty sauce - guess what I’ll be doing when I get home!
{{Apes}} - Someone should regale her with Li-Li’s tales of pregnancy; but it won’t be me, 'cos I’m nice, dammit!
It’s raining cats and dogs as well as various other household pets here (I mean, 4" of rain in 24 hours? In Tel Aviv? :dubious: For the 2nd day in a row??? With another one probably coming tomorrow?!?!:eek::eek:**)
This means, among other things, that the main N-S freeway into and out of T-A is closed due to flooding
I expect to see an ark sailing past our office windows any minute now…
Imagine my delight this morning. I grew up 30 miles downwind of South Bend, IN, and have been an ardent Notre Dame anti-fan all my life. So, when my feet hit the floor today, the first usable bit of news I gathered was that Alabammy handed the Fighting Irish their asses last night. :D:D:D
It appears to be impossible to buy a turkey baster late at night while accompanied by a female housemate without a) getting very funny looks and b) cracking up in the store. Just thought I’d share that with you
If you’re wondering, turkey basters are excellent for cleaning up after messy axolotls so you don’t need to put your hands in the water, and I was there late at night 'cos I’d just discovered my bread was mouldy just before I went out to juggling club, so needed to purchase brekkie.
I was surprised a few months ago to find that my chiropractor, who is named Dwayne, had never heard the “Dwain the bathtub, I’m dwowning!” joke.
I was looking at my latest collection of modern art, AKA MRI images, and I think I can see what’s wrong. Pretty bad when a mere mortal can look at those weird shapes and say “Oh, what’s this?!”
lieu - No, my name comes from a fictional vampire. My first online presence was as a Bronzer, part of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer online community. I’ve kept the name and my Bronzer buds.
Yesterday my pellet stove went out. No heat last night - I closed my bedroom door and used a space heater. Between the 6 dogs, 4 cats adn the space heater it was still only 58 degrees in my bedroom this morning. The rest of the house was significantly colder.
I see, thanks. BTW, StGermain is handy to have around (if you partake) and a beautiful color in a beautiful bottle so it aesthetically compliments any liquor cabinet. Plus, it’s made from alpine elderflowers, a plus for non-teetotaling gardeners.
Probably $31 to 34 US. I think so. It was my first time to look for it but the neighborhood store keeps it stocked so it should be easy enough to find. It’s a very delicate taste, so a good choice for someone very moderate in their consumption.
We have a pellet stove and it keeps the main part of our house comfy. It doesn’t reach the bedrooms too well, but then we prefer to sleep in the cool. And it has significantly reduced our consumption of heating oil this winter. So yay for that!
I took care of what I had to do at the base pass office and now I’m having lunch. Much drawing will ensue this afternoon. Good times!
