The Donald Trump 2024 Campaign Thread (Primary Edition)

What if you put the wind turbine on a plane on a treadmill?

You get banned from the thread. Bad @Gyrate! Bad!!

Just kidding. But it was too good a set-up to pass up.

I propose we go back to the days when wind turbines propellers made the planes go. Life was simpler then.

Donald Trump is a TOOL.

Too obvious?

The funniest thing about this is Mr. gold leaf/spray paint baroque that can’t dress himself and spray tans himself orange claims that this is about aesthetics.

And he’s concerned about birds. Pull the other one Donnie. His only concern is that he missed the gravy train.

Those beautiful windmills that are a testament to mans capabilities and environmental concerns are somehow bad.

Okay, here me out: Planes with propellers in the jet stream. The high winds let them generate electricity while they’re flying.

I can see no reason why this wouldn’t work.

It will take really long wires to bring that electricity to stuff on the ground while the planes are flying around…

Wait: job creators!! Win-win!

We’ll use electrolysis to make hydrogen. I’m sure adding a few dozen cubic meters of water and tankage is a trivial problem.

All while removing unwanted hair-- this just keeps getting better!

Actually, I keep waiting for the ‘destroying the world by reducing the amount of wind’. There being no free lunch, a windmill is going to reduce the speed of the atmosphere. I realize that any single one will be negligible, but once we hit a million or so in maybe Kansas could we be talking about a measurable change in weather?

Nah; God made the climate, and mere man can’t change it. That’s what they keep telling us, anyway…

Hmmm… if the atmosphere slows down maybe the world could slow down in its turning and eventually come to a stop. If the world stops, wouldn’t buildings and people and stuff just fall off into space? Isn’t it the spinning that generates gravity and keeps everything stuck on the earth with centro-something force? No, I never studied science. Science is for wimps and sissies.

You’ll fit right in in Kansas then.

I watched a documentary from the 80s, I think it was called The Super Man, where if you spin the world backward you can reverse time. If we get all those turbines to point the right direction and get them to spin like propellers, maybe we can rewind every now and then to fix some of the really big mistakes.

That sounds great and all, but my new Otisburg beachside property would then be worthless!

Hey, now. My daughter-in-law (a native daughter of the Show-Me State) has made it very clear that they are not moving from Kansas to Missouri to raise my granddaughter. Both sets of grands would like that (puts them closer), but we certainly understand.

It’s not much of bar these days to be better than Missouri, but Kansas clears it easily.

I lived in MO for 20 years, roughly 1995-2015. I’ll immediately agree that in the “clueless” sweepstakes the two states often ran neck-and-neck.

Last time I was watching closely, the KS governor was setting new records for anti-science and pure hateful ignorance, beating MO’s always-vigorous efforts by a country mile.

I guess MO was feeling left behind and redoubled their pig-ignorance to pull ahead? And now they’ve succeeded?

Good to know. I weep for our nation.

The Kansas governor is currently Democrat Laura Kelly (re-elected, even). She is severely limited by a QOP legislature, but is doing a pretty good job.

Potentially the QOP will not nominate a complete dickhead in 2026 and she’ll get beat, but I certainly wouldn’t get on that.

This however is basically true. QOP governor, veto-proof majorities in the legislature on the off chance the governor disapproved of something. We are trending towards Arkansas/Mississippi in various rankings.

I love how this must irritate Trump.
