If we have an orchestra, can we do the 2001 movie music? We can’t do any worse than these guys: 2001 Kubrick Opening Also Sprach Zarathustra by Portsmouth Sinfonia - YouTube

I’ve played Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.

Okay, it was only kazoos and both times it was during the intermission at a PDQ Bach concert. But there was an audience and they applauded.

I’ve played Carnegie Hall thrice. The first two times were before I was ten years old–my piano teacher actually rented it out for his students’ recitals, which was friggin’ awesome. The third time was in high school, performing Mozart’s Missa Brevis with the combined choruses of several schools.

Do you know how to get to Carnegie Hall?

I’ve had an audience in front of Rockefeller center & was a part of ‘The longest running show on Broadway’

Well for me, it’s a NJT/Amtrak train to Penn Station & then an A/C subway to Columbus Circle, then walk the last little bit.
This also works for Rosie, unless she wants a cab from LIRR/Penn Station.

For you, it depends. Driving or flying? If flying, into which airport, Newark, JFK, or LaGuardia? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve been in several Carnegie libraries. Does that count?

That was purty Midget!

I’d probably take the bus to Port Authority and then cab it because I’d likely be wearing inadvisable shoes.

Thanks Swampy.

I’ve never been to Carnegie Hall. I did once play in a really impressive old church in Montreal, though. And in the concert halls at McGill, which can be pretty impressive.

Practice, practice, practice.

I used to work in a Carnegie Library, so for once I have you beat!

Now it"s been an hour since I called 911 in DC because my work truck was struck by an uninsured driver… still no police.

On the plus side I am being paid to wait.

On the extra plus side it’s Friday and my give a fuck is pretty low.

On the extra extra plus side it’s my work truck and I don’t care.

But I still hate DC…

You can call 911 over an auto accident?

Have I blurfed at y’all today yet? because

BLURF!

Thanks for sharing!

The bug man just did another spray and pray. He did at least clue me in on why the stinkbugs like that particular room - it’s warm. Also, they can sneak in through some pretty small holes., so finding and plugging holes may be a project for later on.

The good news is they’re seasonal, so they should be gone pretty soon.

When struck by an uninsured driver, yes.

I used to take the train to work for many years, even becoming adept enough to know where to stand on the platform so that when the train stopped the doors were right in front of me & learning how to wake up from my siesta one stop before mine. Got this down pat.
I have walked (or run) thousands of miles in my life, also have this one down pat.
While I’m no novice, I’m not an expert on the MTA subways either; mainly because I don’t live in NY. Can I only practice this part instead of all three since I presume that was one practice for each mode of transit, correct? :dubious:
In Phila, you dial 911 for all police matters; there is no 10-digit # to dial.

It is the punch line to a joke.
A musician is scheduled to play, and does not know is way about New York.
He asks a taxi driver, “Do you know how to get to Carnegie Hall?” and the cabbie, noticing his violin case, responds, “Practice, practice, practice!”

I thought sure you would smoke it.
