Don’t disparage the North!
Mainly made this post to notify Swampy that we are now on pg 5!!!
Everyone always says that you are helpful, despite all the other stuff.
Awww, I’m touched. ::sniff::
Flytrap paid me a compliment, even if it is a backhanded one.
I try to spread joy, wherever I go.
Well that’s good because when you go, you spread joy where you were.
And the day winds down. The Dr’s office will call me some time next week when they get the pathology report and we’ll set an appointment. I’m trying not to overreact. What concerns me - I don’t spend a lot of time in the sun without protection, and I’m usually wearing a hat, too. This bump was well under any hat I’d wear…
Oh well, from everything I read, it’s just not a big deal. I just want it dealt with ASAP.
And on that happy note, I shall recline. MWAH!
Did another double. Had some excitement second shift. One of the contractors working on our electrical sorta bumped a gas line and didn’t tell anyone until we were all basically smelling gas. Emergency exit of the whole building. Thank God our coats are right by the door because it was 16 degrees. One all hundred of us were at the rally point, they handed out these cute little kits that had these great hats and gloves and blankets and hand-warmers - and socks. As we were all huddled there for like an hour while the firemen cleared and aired the building someone (OK – me) commented this was his first time having group socks. It was a chuckle.
I blame it all on our one manager who pointed out that we hadn’t had any kind of incident in the past 30 days. You do NOT announce something like that on Friday the 13th without beheading at least a few chickens first.
I tried to spread Joy once and she -------- ahhhhhh, never mind.
The week as been survived and I haven’t frozen to death or committed a felony.
The memorial service went well despite ths efforts of the batshit crazy sister. Some of tne cousins on Dad’s side touched base. My dad had been estranged from two of his brothers for years and now that he is the only survivor in his generation, their kids are making the effort to reestablish family ties. I hadn’t seen some of them for 30 years.
Tomorrow night, I will sleep in my own bed.
rosie’s sig to all.
Busy tonight. At least i have the (bitterly cold)weekend off. I made a midnight snack: pasta with shrimp and tomatoes in a white wine sauce.
Ho broken? Better hope the pimp doesn’t find out.
Darn it, you took my line!
Glad they found it early ,Moooommmmmmm!
It warmed up overnight! When I let Higgs out last night, it was 16°. Right now, it’s about 23°. So it’s not like I’d have noticed without the thermometer to tell me, but still…
**FCD **made today’s plans. We’re going to remove the table from his paint booth. I don’t know where he plans to put it - ultimately, it’s supposed to end up in the shed, but I am NOT emptying the shed today. Not only is it going to be too cold all day, there’s a chance of rain/snow this afternoon. Nope, not gonna do it. So we shall see what he has in mind.
Beyond that, we’ll wing it.
I’m thinking before they hack on my head again, I should probably get a short haircut. I hate messing with my hair, but at least if it’s short, the area they’ll have to shave for surgery won’t have to grow back as much. Too bad I can’t pull off the bald look.
That’s all I’ve got. For now. Happy V-Day and all that crap!

Oh lord, we have more high wind warnings today. Where’s my boat anchor?
Blurf…& Happy VD!
Blurf.
Last night was opening night of my show, and it went really well! The conductor was nervous before the show - it was his first big conducting gig. But I think he did really well. Everyone did really well.
Smokey left me a hairball this morning. I suppose that’s her version of a valentine.
Up, caffeinated, off work. It’s a balmy 24 degrees Fahrenheit this A.M.
How about a purple mohawk?
I don’t have a social disease, I use protection. Unlike Flytrap.![]()
Congrats on a good opening, midget!
Thanks, doggio. ![]()
I guess that’s slightly more hygienic than a dead rodent.
Up until this point, I could have served as a character witness. :dubious:
Well, that was productive!
We went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, then to Food Lion for 'nanners and Diet Coke. Surely you’ve heard of the newest diet craze: 'nanners and Diet Coke!!!
Then when we got home, we cut up a couple of logs and stacked the wood on FCD’s burn rack. When he gets a hot enough fire going, it’ll dry out the slightly damp wood. Finally, I came in and loaded the dishwasher. It’s running right now. In a little bit, I’ll get out the vacuum to suck up Ziva leavin’s - I swear, that cat sheds three times her body weight ever day!
**FCD **is cleaning his shop, and when he’s ready, I’ll don grubbies and help him with some heavy lifting. Other than that, I’ve got another lap robe in work. Busy, busy!
**Midget **- yay for a good opening! Back in my choral days, no matter how much we rehearsed, there were still many nerves on performance night, but I remember the thrill of a good show!
I told you about this at the Waffle House and may have mentioned it here but -------- at my Grandmothers funeral several of the cousins in mothers side slipped a six pack into the memorial service. It was “You might be a redneck” in real life and long before Jeff ever wrote his first book. I think God gives us all at least one batshit nuts relative to lessen the pain (or at least distract us from it) at funerals.
Sleep well and many hugs your way.
