Well, so much for going to Dairy Queen today…
It’s flurrying! We’re not even supposed to get an inch of accumulation. No biggie anyway - we’ve done all our outdoor chores (firewood and bringing in the steel plate that’s been sitting in the truck since I picked it up on Monday.
Howdy Y’all! I’ve been AWOL with good reason. JDDs mom is in the horsepistol (again!) with pneumonia. She went in on Wednesday. Anywho, I saw JDD and partner Thursday and between JDDs mom at the horsepistol and his dad at the nursin’ home, they looked frazzled. Miss Becky does not like to stay by herself so they’ve been doin’ the take turns doin’ that and also irk. So, I told 'em that this weekend (last night and tonight) I’d do horsepistol duty so they could take a break at least at night. JDDs sister will be here tomorrow (she lives a couple hundred miles away and irks on Sattidy) and she’ll look after Miss Becky tomorrow night. Hopefully she’ll go home Moanday.
So that’s been my excitatement. OYKW is cool with this btw. He even offered to do tonight but I said I’ll deal. I may not deheathenate tomorrow if’n I’m tahrd. If’n I’m sleepified I sleeps!
That is just so wrong, on so many levels…
Stage 1 of Blizzard XVII is overhead. Winds will spin up overnight, we are far enough in land that we will avoid the 70+MPH winds on the coast.
I watched part of Die Walkure DVD. It is the NY Met from 1990, and decent costuming; armor instead of business suits or the other strange things that Wagner productions have had since his grandson went nuts at Bayreuth.
However;
Hunding resembles a Vulcan, not bad, but Siegmund Porky Pig with close set eyes, Sieglende Ko Ko Taylor, and Brunnhilde an older Soccer Mom.
Dammit.
Dogbutler, the Carol Burnett show paged you.
They want Tim Conway back.
:dubious:
On the coast? We’re expecting 70 mph gusts here in the high country. It’s starting to snow right now. I’ve done my laundry and battened down the hatches. Now I shall play Skyrim until I fall asleep. Or not. I’m playing the vampire quests right now and my character is siding with the evil bloodsuckers.
Damn phlebotomists, getting into my fantasy games.
Just back from a run to Lowe’s with a stop at Red Robin for supper. So romantic - we were talking about building stuff out of aluminum and selecting rivets to do same.
It’s crazy windy out there now, and we might see single digits tonight. I am not impressed. At all. So I’m going to haul myself to my recliner and be unimpressed in front of the TV.
Paging Capt Kirk*, paging Capt Kirk!
Please set local coordinates for Sharktpault[sup]®[/sup]
Where has he been?
In other news, I’s awaked from my nap; before which it was shower time to remove sand from places sand shouldn’t be.
Ya know, 35.1° is cold water to plunge into.
Din-din makeage shall now commence.
Sis and I left Indiana this morning in white out conditions. It took nearly an hour to do the first 15 miles before the fog/wind/snow died down enough to go higher than third gear. After that, we took it easy until we got south of Indy where conditions were merely colder than hell. It’s cold here too, but nothing is falling from the sky (yet).
Whatever the cold version is of a Snowcalypse, that’s what we got. Another round of 0 or better and killer wind chill factors. Anyone south of Virginia with a brass monkey, keep it to yourself or send it here at your own peril.
