I fell asleep to the sound of wind and I awoke to same. It’s blowing like crazy out there! We must have had a power burp because the clock on the microwave was blinking, but the stove clock was fine. Frankly, I’m surprised it was just a flicker - on the news at 11 last night, they reported something like 12K around the DC area without power. But it looks like we were good.
We remain under a wind warning till early afternoon. When I let Higgs out, I saw a very long branch almost upright leaning against the shed. I’m guessing there are lots of branches down around the yard. I just hope none have fallen into the street. We’ll have a quick look at daylight.
The big question remains: will we venture out for breakfast? I’m thinking I should just make french toast at home. TBD when **FCD **gets up.

I left the horsepistol at a quarter of six. Miss Becky had a kinda rough night and didn’t sleep much, thus neither did da bear. Ima see if’n this coffee keeps me goin’. If’n it does I will deheathenate. If’n it doesn’t Ima go sleepy bye.
Ok, that’s all I got for now. Let’s see what happens.

It’s beyond friggin’ cold, got down to -1 last night and now it’s a whole 4 degrees. There’s a little snow on the sidewalk but we will wait a bit and see if the sun melts it away.

I’m sitting in the kitchen looking at all of the snow outside. We’ve probably gotten 3-4 more inches at it’s currently -3F. We’ve got RT’s boys this weekend so it’s a stay inside, watch TV, and play video games kind of weekend. The Bubster is hanging out with us, too.
So, I never made it back the other day to tell you parental contact part 2. She came back in the next day and accused me of lying (even though I had documented proof of what I was talking about), tried to get me axed, and said she’d come in and show me how to do my job if she really needed to.
Ok, almost time for breakfast!
Feeling mentally, physically, and emotionally drained after everything that went on yesterday - and a whole lot went on yesterday. Was thinking of starting a separate thread about it, but I dunno.
Anyway, at least I had a decent night’s sleep last night.
Up, and caffeinated. It’s 15 degrees, with a windchill of 2. And this time that is the Fahrenheit reading.:eek:

It is 7 degrees outside and I need to go to Wal-mart before the snowpocalypse is upon us. :mad:
And I must face the grocery today with Church People and Older Blue Haired Women.
Mom, Swampy, what is it with little old ladies dying their hair blue? Mama Plant, nor her sisters did that, not even GrandMamaPlant did that.

I slept so hard last night that I only awoke for a few minutes when Sis lit out for Houston this morning. The only things I’m going to do today are finish unloading the truck and picking up a few groceries. If I go to WallyWorld :eek: I won’t even have to get out of my jammies. 
You are a good man Swampbear. All youse in the frigid North stay warm. It’s been chilly here in the Keys with lows of 59. Not right.
I slept all day yesterday and all night too. Must have been tired. Today is clean the house day. I am also making a big pot of beef stew.
I have the day off tomorrow which is much needed.

Why would I know about that?!? All the old ladies in my family went gray naturally. Except Aunt Clara - her hair stayed mostly dark till she died. But somewhere in the back of my memory, I seem to recall that blue rinses were supposed to make gray hair look less harsh or something. I dunno - still no gray on my head! 
We went to breakfast and included some slight detours to look at downed trees - most that we saw were leaning against phone/cable lines along the road. A couple had apparently been in the street but they’d been chain-sawed away. But there’s a pine across our road down the other end. And the wind continues. And it’s cold. I do not like it Sam-I-Am!
I got my first gray hairs at age 27.
I have to go out tonight and its fucking freezing cold outside all of the time now. I mean, at least I’m going out for a happy occasion, but still.
I got my first grey hairs at 15, but I (and my best friend at the time) pulled ‘em all out, and they didn’t grow back. Very odd. Mind you, one of my aunts’ hair went pure white at 30, hair’s weird.
I just went shopping for cake, and came back with an 18 pack of TP and no cake. Something backwards there somehow.
**Nut **- you were obviously channeling swampy. If you were channeling me, you’d have remembered the cake, plus had ice cream, and maybe some brownies.

Howdy again! I did not go deheathenate. I went to sleep for a couple of hours instead. I don’t want to sleep for several hours durin’ the day today because I want to be able to sleep tonight. I will most likely sleep with Melatonin tonight.
flytrap what MOOOOOOM said. The blue rinse is to get rid of the yellow tinge that gray/white hair can develop. Kind of like addin’ bluing to white clothin’ to keep it from lookin’ dingy.
Nuts you did make the right choice. However I am somewhat taken aback that it was only an eighteen-pack.
