The early morning MMP

Irk days up about 7 our @ 7:30, though today I rolled outta bed about 8 since I’m irking from home.

Sat was a 5:15 alarm & Sun was 4:30 (& it’s only going to get earlier as the days get longer). I need to find a hobby with better hours!

I usually get up at 3am and then again at 6am to pee and then around 8ish for good. Since work doesn’t actually start for me most days until 2pm I really don’t want to make it earlier but since I do some 10am-8pm days here and there I don’t want my body to adjust to anything later. Plus most weekends I’m up and dressed before 7am so --------- it just works that way.

If I didn’t have to work, I would sleep forever. I love sleep. As my favourite pontificator once said:

Please, don’t wake me
No, don’t shake me
Leave me where I am
I’m only sleeping

I love that song

Since last night was a short night, I went back to bed for about 3 hours this morning. I just got up and showered, but I feel a bit out of balance. And while I was sleeping, I got a phone call to come pick up the steel I ordered on Firday. So I need to don some shoes and head out into the cold, gray day. ugh.

At least I don’t have to load the truck - a 3’ X 5’ sheet of 1/4" steel is a tad on the heavy side.

Ear Worm!!!

Oh my goodness. I feel like the Queen of Sleeping-in right now. I usually set my alarm for 6.30 am, and I’m out the door at 7.30 am with 15 yo in tow.

Happy Moan-day! If there is such a thing.

Back with the steel. It’ll stay in the truck till **FCD **decides where we’ll put it. Meanwhile, I’m having a corned beef sammich and thinking about what to do today other than tidy the kitchen.

Probably TV and crocheting. It’s too dreary to do anything else.

Happy Moonday!

It’s a foggy 37 degrees, supposed to get up to 41.
I’ll go out in a bit and move the truck to in front of the house since it’s all ice out back. I like parking in front of the house for another reason, one of the neighbors has a loud truck and it forces him/her to park somewhere that is not in front of my house.

I didn’t get up until 10:10 this morning, late for me. Usually I get up around 8, which gives me a half hour before I have to log in to irk. Since I’m not scheduled to irk Moonday and Toosday mornings it’s not a big deal if I sleep in. I’m not happy though because I don’t like sleeping the day away.
Unfortunately I have been waking up at 3 or 4 am almost every morning and I’m wide awake and can’t get back to sleep. This morning I woke at 2:45, couldn’t sleep and called one of my friends who irks nights and we chatted from 4 to 6:30. Right around 6am I heard a thump and she let loose with a string of cuss words, a deer had just run into the side of her car. Her car is a mess, can’t open the drivers door. No idea how the deer is, it kept on going. This friend has the worst luck with critters vs her car.
So I fell back asleep and only woke when I did because the alarm went off for me to take my pills.

I saw a damn mouse last night, I thought we were rid of them since I hadn’t seen any signs of them. I should get a cat but I’m not ready to take on that additional responsibility right now. If anything I should wait until after my surgery in case I am laid up somewhere for 2-3 weeks.

You say that like we have any qualms about hijacking without being invited to.

Let’s see, irk days the alarm goes off at 5am (assorted rude words), this year deaheathenating is at 11am so alarm goes off at 9am on Sunday, on days off it’s pretty much “when I wake up on my own”, so pretty random. For me on a day off, this is early to be up.

Howdy from the orifice! I have finished my rounds for the day and am havin’ N.O.L. I got me some red beans ‘n rice and a bizkit from Popeye’s. YUM! No rain yet but it’s all cloudy outside and warmish, so I know rain is comin’ on this afternoon.

Midget that was me in your dream remindin’ you to not forget to post the MMP.

What horrible excuse for recreation requires you to get up at such barbaric times?

Didn’t you know? **Spidey **likes to run nekkid through the streets of town, but he doesn’t want to risk skin cancer by running after the sun is up.

I was the scorer yesterday in a hare/hound event. We need a new X though, it’s mainly white, which doesn’t show up so well on the snow. :smack:

Gluttony would be my deadly sin. Still BLURF.

The other day I was thinking of the seven deadly sins, and how I was guilty of every one of them. :stuck_out_tongue:

Gotta go off to downtown in a bit.

Eep… Half of you lot get up about the time I finally give up and go to bed.

I’m having a bit of a dilemma here- I’ve mentioned my appalling boss on here a few times, and predictably he’s just got on my last nerve, by doing something which is pretty clearly Not On. He’s suddenly added a new item of uniform which was not on the dress code I agreed to, which we have to pay for. He’s just issuing everyone with a fleece (a badly made, ill-fitting, overpriced thing, they’re not even all the same fabric), and is stopping the money out of everyone’s wages. He didn’t even bother to tell us he was doing that, forget proper notification and agreements.

Anyway, I objected. I don’t want one, and I don’t think he can legally make me buy one, so he’s now saying I won’t be offered any further work until I cave in.

Well, I’ve asked around a bit, and it looks like he’s totally legally in the wrong (my housemate has a law degree, bro works in HR)… If I went to the employment rights people, I’d probably win. But… I don’t know if I’d get anything out of it except no further shifts.

I really want to finally let him know I’ve had enough of his shit (among other things, I think he’s illegally docked over £150 off my wages, which out of about £5000 is actually a bit and I may be able to prove that)- and checking the employment law sites, it looks like he’s broken even more than I’d realised, but I don’t know if it’d really be in my best interests. I’m still having no luck finding anything else… So.

Principle or practicality?

I think I’ll be calling the employment watchdog hotline tomorrow anyway, see what they say.

The 8th deadly sin?

** PIZZA!**

It’s not voluntary in my case. When I have to be at irk at 7am…

Left to myself, I tend to go nocturnal.
