The early morning MMP

Did some stow away in stuff from your mother’s place?

Up, caffeinated, off to work. Hockey after work.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffienated, purtified, so no YAWN. ‘Tis 39 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 61 for the day. Tomorrow’s high will be 50. Yep, it’s Winter still. We’re goin’ out for brekkie to that paragon of fine dinin’ known as Three Squares Diner because we feel all gourmet this mornin’.

Ok, that’s all I got for now. OYKW has emerged all purtified for the day so we’re gonna head on. After brekkie I need to go by Sam’s and gas up twuck. Then I head in to irk. Envy the glamor that is my life.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

sari - maybe you need to put an old fridge or a tattered sofa on the front porch so your place looks occupied? I wonder who told the city your place was abandoned? Weird…

Speaking of weird, my dream last night went off the weird-o-meter. I was participating in a swim meet. Unless they start to include competitive dog paddle or floatiing, ain’t no way!! I never learned to swim properly. Plus in the dream instead of swim goggles, I was going to wear a snorkeling mask! I can propel myself in the water and I’m buoyant enough that I’ll never drown, but swim? It is to laff!!!

Today is starting out cold (26°) before becoming windy and possibly snowy (sorta) so I expect I’ll mostly vegetate inside. Looking at the 10-day forecast, I don’t see any day that’ll work for hanging out laundry - it either stays sub-freezing, or nasty stuff falls from the sky. Alas, I must use the dryer. No nice-smelling clothes this round.

I’ve been thinking about my former place of employment - I definitely did the right thing by bailing out when I did. I feel so sorry for my (former) boss - he’s got 7 more years, but I fear he’ll be dead before then. Bad enough he puts in long days, but he said last year he lost 115 credit/comp hours and he donated 80 hours of leave to someone else. Apparently the higher-ups don’t give a damn about the well-being of the workers - they just want everything done yesterday. Yep, I escaped at the right time.

The boo-boo on my head is healing nicely. I was able to see enough this morning to clean around it myself - apparently my sweetie was hesitant to remove what he thought was a scab, but was actually just some residual goo from the dr’s office. So I de-goo’d it and now he’s just dealing with a spot about the diameter of a pencil eraser. And he says it looks really good. I figure after a couple more days, it should be pretty much healed. So yay!

Two more days till Valentine’s Day, the day we love to ignore. I reminded **FCD **that we don’t want to try to go out to dinner on Saturday night. I’ll be so glad when all the idiotic commercials hawking diamonds and jewelry are done. I notice there are no commercials for gifts for guys…

Anyway, Happy Thursday!

You call that winter?

Please note: that “blustery” thing is no joke. We routinely carry anchors around so we don’t blow away.

Good morning, mumpers! Conga-rats on the promotion and successfully surviving another year, Doggio! I hope the cupcakes were good.

Nothing exciting over here, it’s dull and grey today and it’s cold outside. Thus I am sitting in my nice warm office and not planning on going anywhere until hometime. I could go and see a couple of friends at lunchtime but they are meeting at the opposite end of campus - I could get the bus there and back but I am still not inclined to make the trek. I’m seeing two of them tomorrow a bit closer to the centre of campus instead so I’ll make do with that.

Grocery shopping tonight, I can hardly contain my excitement!

Had quite the day yesterday. Big final rehearsal with my theatre group.

Before the rehearsal I accidentally walked in a room where my conductor was getting changed. He said it was okay, though. I said to him, “It’s not like I haven’t seen you in your underwear before.” (It makes sense in context. )

I’m always getting into some sort of mischief or other. :stuck_out_tongue:

In other news, for many years I’ve been trying to find out the title of a song that I like, and I finally found it out! It is apparently a Hebrew folk song called Hashivenu. If I could figure out how to reply to comments on YouTube, I’d thank the person who told me.

We have a show tonight in my theatre group (Well, a special showing for the press. The show officially opens tomorrow night.) I wonder if I’ll get into any monkeyshines tonight.

Reminds me of eons ago when my spousal unit had his first engineering job - his first week or so, he was required to wear coveralls and spend time out on the production floor learning the manufacturing process. One day, he was in the men’s room changing. He was bent over and the president of the company walked in to see my sweetie’s bare butt. Way to make a first impression!

hahaha! I hope your husband didn’t get a bum rap after that.

How about writing “Request denied” on the forms in garish crayon, and sending them back?

It was nice of then to send you a $100 check for your time in complying with their nonsense, though. :stuck_out_tongue:

Had pizza and wine and inside out carrot cake cookies last night. And sallit. Life was good last night. Woke up with a migraine this morning. Blurf. I hope the leftover pizza (but no wine cuz I’m at irk) cures that. And winter has returned. It’s 9 with a wind chill of below 0F.

Very cool.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Actually, he did very well there. But the company eventually failed after changing hands several times, and one of his last jobs with them was disassembling the production lines he’d built in the first place. Theoretically, his machines are in a factory in the Dominican Republic now.

Cloudy Thursday flavored blurf

CAMP SONG!
To comment, you need to create an account on YouTube - I think you can sign in with either Google or Yahoo. Then you can comment your little heart out.

Actually, that video I linked is my own video, uploaded on my own YouTube account, which I’m always logged into. But i did manage to go to the commenter’s channel and write them a message there.

It’s snowing! The ground is actually wet and some dried leaves on the ground are covered in white!!

So I baked some brownies. That’s the correct reaction, right?

My Surefire Weather Predictor Device[sup]tm[/sup] (orifice window) indicates snow has started falling in Navytown. Dammit.

I survived a preliminary monitorin’ this mornin’. Go Me! Mid March I get the big one. I’m not worried about it. As far as I’m concerned, records and such are good as they can possibly get.

Anywho, they left around 11:30 A.M. and I’ve had N.O.L. All is well.

BBBobbio I was thinkin’ sari should employ your poison pen service.

Excellent!
