The early morning MMP

Works for me. ::eyes CD drive with drooly anticipation::

Happy Thorsday!

It’s a cloudy 36 degrees outside. We had snow earlier but it didn’t stick so no shoveling to be done.

It’s been a busy morning and it didn’t help that I overslept.
Brownies sound good to me.

I need to use up the leftover ground beef that’s in the fridge today. I hope the sausage I took out of the freezer on Sunday is still good. If nothing else I can brown everything and use it tomorrow.

Nettie I have considered that I may be bringing some critters in. I doubt I did yesterday since the stuff was carried out as soon as it was packed.

I haven’t seen my neighbor and her window is still broken and no attempts to fix it. My realtor is friends with realtor who handled the sale of my house and she is friends with my neighbors niece. I wonder if I should call my realtor and tell her about the broken window. It’s been weeks now, surely my neighbor would have noticed by now and done something to fix it, if nothing else put up more plastic.

I called the City of Hagerstown today to let them know that yes, people are living in this house and how did they come to the conclusion that it was vacant. The woman said they were alerted because my utility bills are so low. Obviously they have not seen my gas bill- $288 in January. Of course they only see the water and electric bills. I’ve only paid one water bill - $33 but it had an $89 credit so that is not so low. My electric runs between $40 -$60 but my neighbor says hers is always around $20 so mine doesn’t seem so low. Anyway, the city sent out an inspector who said the house looks vacant. (S)He must not have looked very hard.
So the nice lady, who actually sounded irritated and bored out of her mind, cancelled my bill so I no longer owe the City of Hagerstown $100 for living in a vacant house.

So… if they think there’s no-one in a propery they send a letter to that property and expect a reply with money? Sounds sensible.

I’m trying to design a zoo logo. I’m not sure why this should be my job, except my Mum’s drawn a picture which she’s determined to turn into a new logo, and it just doesn’t work. Every time anyone says it just doesn’t work, she just comes back with the same sketchy picture with a different background or a new font (or new selection of fonts, she seems to want a new one for every word) and asks “How about this one?”

Both me and the bro spent some time trying tactfully to go through at length why it really didn’t work as a logo, as we bith thought it looked outdated and kinda amateurish, and she goes “Hmm, right, yes, I see… How about with a blue background?”

She won’t try get a professional one done because “Someone did one years ago, and it wasn’t very good”. Aagh.

The blizzard has ended and we’ve got all of 4-5mm of snow in the unmelted spots. The brownies are sliced and put in a container, and the bits that sorta kinda came off in the slicing have been tested and declared yum!

I’ve got 2 poke chops soaking in teriyaki for supper. I just finished watching the remake of Sabrina - Harrison Ford was so yummy when he was younger. All the laundry is done. It’s been a good day.

Aaaaaaaaaand the sun is out. My sweetie is home. I’m about to start making supper. Woohoo!

I made hot dogs for lunch.

I’ve loaded the dishwasher and now I’m doing laundry. Sah-son wants to give the dog a bath but I want to wash the dog’s towels first.
I still need to brown the ground beef and sausage.

oh what a mess
the hose for the washer popped out of the sink and water every where I’m glad I had a lot of dirty laundry to sop it all up

An early dindin of leftover taco soup has been ingested. I put some in a container for OYKW to take to irk tomorrow. I also put sour cream, guacamole, cheese, and some tortilla chips each in their own little container so he has the goodies to put on top of and mix in the soup. He left for his place to deal with some irk paperirk stuff this evenin’ poor thing.

The low temp tonight will be 30 Amurrkin with a high of 50 for tomorrow. BRRRRR! That’s south Jawja cold.

Now Ima go surf teh intartoobz for a bit.

All I want to do right now is scrunch down under my blankey and snooze. I think shortly I shall go to bed with Melatonin and watch teevee until I’m too sleepy to watch any more.

I’m still waitin’ on that brownie, Mooooooom!

Well, rosie, there are a few left on the counter in the kitchen, but you’d better hustle before they’re all gone…

Time to recline. MWAH!

Did a double shift. Picked on one manager. I dropped the 'stache last night (going back to Amish mode now that Santa season is over) and he didn’t notice all first shift. And then in the middle of talking with me during second shift, he stops in mid sentence and asked what happened to it. I put my hand up to my face and said “Oh good Lord!!! It must have fallen off into a pallet!!! Sandy - Sandy? Did you see what pallet my mustache fell in?”

He hit me.

Just like my old boss but much harder and nicer.

Mel surely gets around, the whore. :dubious:

A fellow offered to rake the yard for $25.00. I gave in. He isn’t a drunk, like the tree guy. He and his Wife worked until dark and will be back tomorrow. I must give him more than $25.00.
But I digress.
Sometime during conversation and an open door, the young cat/old kitten from next door, “Mittens”, slipped into the house. I was holding Penny, who wriggled from my arms to the floor. I thought that she was greeting Perseus, but she was in attack mode for Mittens.
I was paralyzed: “That is not our cat!” but Mrs. Plant, (v.3.0) instructed me to secure Penny, induced to Mittens to be picked up, and escorted said cat to the door.
A Major Crisis averted.

Boiling an artichoke for dinner. Hadn’t had one in a long while.

Cool.
Steamed with garlic butter.

Worked, went to hockey. Canes lost. More work in the A.M. and P.M.

Up and caffeinated. Working for a little at one store, then doing laundry, then closing a my store tonight.

It’s ELEVEN FREEKIN’ DEGREES!!! I don’t think my freezer is set that cold! Plus it’s been gusty as all get-out since last night and that’s supposed to continue. * BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!*

I don’t plan to leave the house today. The only thing that might induce me to venture forth is a desperate need for some grocery item. But I’m pretty sure we’re good on that front.

Weird dreams last night. I was at work - not sure where or doing what, but I was digging thru a pile of assorted garments trying to find something I could wear, since I was nekkid. The actor Peter Dinklage was working in the adjacent office and I was giving him grief for being so cheerful. Then my first engineering boss (whose last name was Dinkins - was this a Dink dream?) showed up and started hitting on me. That’s especially weird because we *never *had a flirty kind of relationship, altho we did get on more as colleagues than boss/peon. Plus, alas, the poor guy died 2 years after he retired. :frowning:

Anyway, that part got me thinking how I’d never told him how much I’d appreciated him giving me a job, even tho I had zero engineering experience. He was a genuinely nice person and one of the two best bosses I ever had, and I never told him. But because of that, when I retired, I did tell Al (the other best boss) how much I appreciated him. And the moral of the story is: tell 'em today because there might not be a chance tomorrow.

And on that happy note: It’s FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH!!!

Happy Firday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 28 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 50 for the day. Well BRRR!

It occurred to me last night that I have Moanday off because of President’s Day. I am still not used to all these here federal holidays. So, three day weekend. YAY!

Ok, that’s all I got for now. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. At least 'tis payday.

Happy FIRDAY THE THIRTEENTH y’all!

Not only is it Friday the 13th, it’s my ex’s birthday. Not the good ex that I’m still friends with, but He Who Should Be Curbstomped. And I had a dream about him last night. Stupid brain, bringing up old news.

I guess I should go start the car. The cold is quite ungodly.
