The Early Worm Gets the Bird -- an East of Greenwich MMP

Back to irk again, waiting for stuff to break. Trying to avoid coming up with a laundry list of things I don’t like about the room I just moved into… only gonna be here for a couple months, then I’ll be getting an actual apartment somewhere where I can get internet access, and a kitchen I can cook in, and my own bathroom, and cold water in the shower, and not have to deal with a retired, senile, widowed landlady who doesn’t remember my name or that she’s already told me three times that I can make some toast if I want because she’s got lots of bread. Sigh.

BooFae I wouldn’t do Barbados in September/October because it’s still hurricane season. That’s just me though. I went on a cruise in October once but that was durin’ a slow hurricane season, which nobody can predict.

Nachos for dindin by request of His Majesty. I shall expect Royal “appreciation” for that.

Spare me! I just told OYKW I’m gonna start makin’ the nachos in a few minutes. He’s been dancin’ around singin’ “Nacho! Nacho Man! I’ve got to be a Nacho Man!”:dubious::smiley:

Aaand we have power. Me, cat, couch, blanket, ginger ale, internet… the things we take for granted.

Dude. I was* trying* to be complimentary. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmmm… I don’t know. I just don’t even know how to respond to this.

Hooray!!!
Meanwhile on the home front, today is my grandpa’s 84th birthday. We’re all going out to lunch together to celebrate tomorrow. And I’m kind of glad because I am worn out today. I took my big super all important must-pass-this-if-you-want-to-be-a-teacher-test this morning. Then, I went and finished out the day at the show that I had. I’m working on dinner for my grandparents and then I’ll fix my own. Then I predict an early evening.*

*Yeah, right. I never actually end up going to bed eary.

Very cool!

YAY olives!

Vancouver!

(WA or BC?)

If BC there is a ton to do.
Whale watching comes to mind!

Now I got that stuck in my head thank you very much:eek::mad:

I cannot believe I slept until :o 1PM.

Cold and windy out.

sah-kid and I got this weeks mini shop done, went to the bank, stopped at Burger King, and home.
They totally messed up our order but we were too hungry to care.

Now I’m hold with verizon because my mother’s land line is still out.
I don’t know why she cares when the only calls she gets are telemarketers and political crap.

Still holding…

still holding… at 13 minutes

"we’re sorry, all of our representatives are still busy, you will hear music until your call is answered, thank you for your patience

Happy Birthday to FCD and SandS Grandpa

Happy birthdays!!!

Mouse had a new haircut; we tried the place his mom goes to, but…I don’t like it. If it were up to me, I’d stick with Petco. Yeah, it’s like 50 bucks there, but it’s at least 30 no matter where you go, and they are so much cleaner and do such a thorough job, they do the nails and tick and flea bath and everything. And it’s much nicer there; this place we went to smelled like a slaughter house from the second we walked in. :open_mouth: Bleargh.

But at least now he can see, lol, and looks less like a mini sheep dog and more like a spaniel. :stuck_out_tongue:

Got more stuff out of storage and trimmed more stuff down; took 8 boxes out, putting 3 back in. The rest into trash or Goodwill. Lots more to go!

Yay for electricity!

fcm we both work for the same company and are a “dual career” couple wih me as the lead career. The company will find a job for him when where ever we go which is a nice benefit.

We were having a lazy day then mr ems got all motivated and washed his work truck then we went over to the outlet mall and got some Christmas presents the went to Target and the pharmacy and picked up the dry cleaning. And we are both pooped. **mr ems ** is snoozing on the couch and I am surfing and reading magazines and eating left over Halloween candy. Supper is tonight is chili as it is easy and we have everything in for it and I don’t want to go to the grocery store!

Happy FCD and StickyGrandPa Day! I forgot that earlier.

Nachos have been et. Singin’ has ceased. For that I am grateful.

Yay for power and intartoobz Olives!

I can’t stop thinking about food. If I gain as much this pregnancy as I did with the twins I am going on a starvation diet after this little peanut is born :frowning:

My marvelous nephew has set up a fundraiser linked to the Red Cross. He makes me proud.

Home from Texas Roadhouse - very crowded and very slow service but the food was good, so there’s that. But now I’s tired, so I’m gonna knit the night away.

Reset clocks when you go to bed!!!

MWAH!!

Petco, where the pets go.
And some don’t come back.

Mrs. Plant v.3.0 and I went to my trailer in the woods to get it ready for Mrs. Plant v.1.0 to rent from me.
Mrs. Plant v.1.0 has to leave the family 40 acres where she rented an efficiency apartment to me (that her Dad and I {mostly her Dad} built for her Grandmother) while I was divorcing Mrs. Plant v.2.0.
I know it is confusing, but do try and keep up; there will be a test on Tuesday.

We’ve removed carpet from the two rooms that had dog crates in them, and are preparing to lay tile. If we can’t clean the carpet in the other rooms, I must tile them as well. The dogs had the run of the place when I wasn’t there during the divorce.
There is painting to do as well.

Mrs. Plant v.1.0 and Mrs. Plant v.3.0 are friends, and yes, I wake up in a cold sweat sometimes in the wee hours of the morning.
“Does he still…”, “Did he ever…”, “When did he…”

Oye vey.

Simple reply when a gay man is singing “Nacho Man” you ask how he’s dressed; cowboy, indian, construction worker? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m just going to keep my watch in my hand this weekend instead of wearing it on my wrist. I’m now in the home of the Dope, so changed the time once already today; then need to change it back tonight & then forward tomorrow when I get home.

Side note… a friend of mine was a vendor at last year’s Edwardian Ball in San Francisco. She had, among other things, a pair of knee-high black riding boots with zippers up the side. I tried them on and liked them, but couldn’t afford to buy them. So, I put my foot up on a chair and slowly unzipped one, which was, for some reason, inexplicably appealing to my friend.

Me: On the other hand, if I do buy them, I’ll be very popular in certain circles, but I’ll have to buy the rest of the motorcycle patrolman’s uniform to go with them.
