The Early Worm Gets the Bird -- an East of Greenwich MMP

:muffin to BooFae: Pssst

Bah!

It’s still raining here, but it’s more of a gentle shower than a deluge, and there’s definitely a breeze, but nothing exceptional. Mostly, it’s just cold and damp and ick. brrrrrrrr! We’ve got network issues - I can’t print. The connection to our PA office is disconnected - probably because Sandy is working them over right now. Looks from the radar like Ohio is getting snowed upon pretty good.

All in all, it would have been a great day to stay in bed and veg. I’m thinking a bunch of my coworkers felt the same way - the office is dead! I’m also thinking a cup of tea would be nice about now, so I shall brew me some.

MOOOOM just think, if you had baked cookies, you could be havin’ a nice tea and cookie break right now. See how these things come back to haunt you?

Sari ya know, any other time of year, a statement like “I don’t see a bit of damage other than the neighbor’s tombstones are leaning a bit” would be right disturbin’. Unless, of course, your neighbor’s have tombstones in their yahd all year long. That would be disturbin’. Especially if new ones appeared from time to time.

Kept power, kept shingles, kept roofing. It wasn’t even raining when I got up. Now light rain & light breeze. Nothing more than small kindling-sized branches (& a lotta leaves) down. I understand why they did it based upon the forecast, but from what I see, there’s no reason there couldn’t be school today.

So. I just found a Zumba video on my Roku.

Let me tell you a few things about it. First of all, schnoodles do not appreciate it at all if you are stomping around upstairs while they are attempting to nap downstairs. Second, Zumbaing on carpet is ill advised. Third, I hope to God no one was filming that. Fourth, my knee says I should probably keep my Zumbaing to the absolute minimum.

Nonetheless, I had fun! That’s what’s important, right?

And now, I should quit having fun and start doing some work. :dubious:

It’s been snowing in Hippy Hollow. The wooly worms may be right–they’re all black this year except for a few outliers (outliars? :D) Not sticking, but enough to make me start my car ten minutes earlier to warm it up. I sat around yesterday watching it snow since my entertainment is currently being diagnosed. No word yet on what’s been going on with it, sorry AAR deprivees. :frowning:

On Saturday Blonde Co-Worker was trying to get me to make a move on Computer Guy when I told her about my adventures in computerland. I pulled up his Facebook public profile to show her what he looked like. She was strongly encouraging me to drop a "how *you doin’?" by, but I told her I prefer the drama-free life. Maybe in a year or so I’ll raise my eyebrows in his direction. I always thought he was cuter than Culinary Boy anyway. What?

*For those of you coming to the drama late, I dated Computer Guy’s brother Culinary Boy for a couple of years. The drama is all on the Culinary end of the equation.

GRRRRRRRRRR… Da bear does not tolerate stealin’ very well. A participant was caught stealin’, red handed mind you, from a Goodwill Donation Center, a place where she had begged to be placed for training. I am unhappy. Even cookies would not make me happy right now. Needless to say, she is history. I can’t exactly say it, but I have intimated to Goodwill that the pressing of charges would not be the most awful thing I’ve ever heard of someone doin’. GRRRRRRRRRRR… stoopid, useless thief!

StickyBuns shame on you for disturbin’ what I am sure was much deserved schnoodle rest. It takes a lot of effort to eat breakfast then go out and poop. Shame! Shame, I say!

I just opened the HMS Bounty link to get her history and started reading the blog about sailing up the east coast, 2012. When I tried to turn the page, it and the main link were “suddenly unavailable.”

That statement would not be out of place in Cottonfield County. Those people buried dead relatives in their yards like other folks planting deceased kittens.

What? Who steals from the Goodwill? That’s some seriously bad karma right there. Which reminds me, I need to stop by Goodwill this afternoon to drop off a few things.

It doesn’t work with little sisters standing on a rug, ask my brother.

I’m a plannin’ to go to a free beer brewing for beginners workshop tonight, hopefully should be interesting! Having one of those days where I keep thinking I should be doing something, I just can’t think what… Any idea what it is I should be doing?

This is probably the geekiest thing that will happen to me today. I got my rental car yesterday to go to the scareport tomorrow, figuring the Avis office would be closed today (I was correct). To make things worse, about 2 hours after I got it home, United cancelled my flights.

I wasn’t going to hold the thing for four rental days because the extra time would come out of my wallet, so I took it back this morning. The geeky part: when I wrote down the return mileage, it was 32767.

That is a magic number to computer folks like me. In hexadecimal C notation, it translates to 0xFFFF, analogous to decimal 9999.

IF you are going to steal from Goodwill, do it from a collection box, and be so down on your luck that they would take pity and give you the stuff anyway.

Our rain has appeared to stopped, but it is breezy and chilly at 42°. Our PA office is closed, so I’m scraping around for something to do - I’ve been getting my tasking from them. I should have just stayed home today.

Yet another cookie makin’ opportunity lost MOOOOOOM. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve had a good chikin sallit sammich, two oatmeal raisin cookies and because it was forced, forced I say, upon me, a chawklit chip cookie. I feel I have achieved an acceptable level of cookieness. For now. Plus I’m less grrrrrrrr right now. Ms I Steal From Goodwill is still toast, but I am less grrrrrrr.

LIES!

Apes whoever said that about Monty Python and women obviously had a hamster for a mother and a father who smelt of elderberries.

I have a horrible, tragic, almost unthinkable, thank Og it didn’t happen to me thing to tell y’all!

A co-irker went next door to the tech skool to get a BLT for which she had been jonesin’ and… this is almost to horrifyin’ to even post…

THEY WERE OUT OF BACON!!!

The only thing I can possibly think of that would be worse would be a bakery out of cookies.

How hard would it have been for them to spring for some bacon at the local grocery store to ride out the lunch rush?

We’re having another alzheimer’s vs. dogs day today. It’s not a good thing when a dog comes upstairs with a half a snack cake and a potato chip in his mouth. And just as I was starting to type this, he puked (fried potatoes). For now, all concerned parties have been separated from each other. This sucks. For everyone.
