The Early Worm Gets the Bird -- an East of Greenwich MMP

I just got a call from a lady named Acquanetta. Her parents actually named her that.

I am very sorry, and I know it has to suck…but I am laughing my ass off at this image. Mostly because Mouse over here regularly walks into the room with SOMETHING in his mouth that he’s not supposed to have, and he would LOVE for it to be a potato chip, a snack cake and fried potatoes. :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, my mother-in-law has Mouse’s mother, plus 3 of his siblings over there still.
So she has to deal with all of that times 4. It’s gonna be interesting when Mouse is living over there; he’s the biggest of all of them, and has learned quite well how tall he can get when he stands up, and is learning to paw any and everything off of anything he can reach. Which is quite a bit now, sigh.
To wake me up in the mornings, he used to jump up so I could see his head above the bedline, which is funny as hell. Now he just stands up and head-buts me. If that doesn’t work, he starts dragging hte sheets off.

Did you ask if she has a brother named Brylcreme?

Howdy from da cave! I snuck out a wee few minutes early which is ok cause I was at irk earlier than usual this mornin’. Makin’ jambalaya, sallit, garlic bread and baked apples for dindin. Ice cream to go on the baked apples even. YUM!

I’m rather impressed that their ‘graveyard’ is still standing. They did a good job.

Pizza day today, everything is back to normal around here. Depending on your definition of normal.

Dear Og, I may not have had chawklit chips to make emergency cookies, but I sure as hell have a fridge drawer full of bacon!

ETA: Looks like I have to update The List.

I’ve seen FB feeds from **Ivory **saying they’re OK and have power – anyone heard from **Rosie **though? Any other mumpers in the path of Sandy that are MIA…?

I’m home, and the furnace is working fine. Apparently when I changed the filter a few weeks ago, I bumped a switch on the side of the burner to the OFF position. It’s in the ON position now and the house is warm. So yay!

Tuna noodle casserole in the oven. I talked to my mom - she’d just gotten her power back about an hour before I called. That’s pretty much all the excitement in my life this afternoon. rah.

Glad it was a simple fix to your furnace problem, FCM.

I’ve spent the last little while rearranging the house to make it more user friendly for man and beast. Hopefully it will help.

Supper’s ready - c’mon over if you’d like some casserole!

No cookies, tho. Sorry, swampy. :stuck_out_tongue:

I am guessing Rosie lost power; she doesn’t have to work today 'cause they shut down, but 20 hours ago she said that ‘windy doesn’t even begin to describe it.’ So fingers crossed she gets power back and is otherwise alright.
In the good news territory, the fairly-new glasses that Mouse chewed up, to the point the lens came out <They’re half-frames, and he ate the fishing wire they use to hold the lens in at the bottom>…anyway, OptomEyes is where I got 'em, so I went back there to see if they could replace that wire and stick the lens back in. Not only could they, they did it within 20 minutes and for FREE!! That was such a relief, and so nice of them.

Now to find the grater, so I can even out the sharp, plastic bits sticking out of what’s left of my earpieces…
What bugs me the most is that these are trifocals, which so far for me just means I can only see properly out the middle third of my lenses.
Guess which part of my lenses have deep, deep grooves in them now?

THANKS MOUSE!!! /facepalm

I’ve done things like that :). Still not sure how TV picture went weird yesterday, but DH fixed it  (he says he’s not sure what he did that worked).

Houseguest kitten has figured out eating canned gooshy food from a dish (she’s also still getting kitten formula), and has impressive lung power. Amazing how much sound such a tiny body can produce. Queen Allie is still sulking under the bed, with growls and hisses when approached (although I did get my usual “isn’t it breakfast time, Mom?” snuggle-purr fest this morning, before Her Majesty was reminded about the guest).

Let’s all make positive waves.

Has anyone else not checked in?

It’s halfway gloomy and chilly here, so I made a pot of split pea soup for dinner. Or Evening Noms, as I heard someone call it.

Found sugar-free Oreos at the grocery store, so we’ll have a cookie-to-cookie taste test tonight.

Have not seen the pumpkin pie Pop Tarts yet. Maybe they were just to be a one-season special.

Oh, if anyone’s looking for a yellowish plastic pumpkin, it’s on my front porch. It blew into the yard from somewhere else a couple of days ago. I put it out by the mailbox, hoping its owner would see and reclaim it. Instead, it blew back into the yard, and some helpful person put it on my porch, thinking it was mine. With my luck, the owner will see it there and call the cops, thinking I stole their decorations.

Channelin’ a skool lunchroom lady are ya? :stuck_out_tongue:

Dindin was nummy. I make gooooooooooood jambalaya!

Haven’t seen Rosie on facebook either. Hope she’s ok!

Casserole was yum, and there’s enough left over for tomorrow’s lunch. For those of you who weren’t around 2 years ago when I posted this, it makes for a really good and healthy tuna noodle casserole - or any casserole that uses a white sauce.

I think I’m gonna sign off now and knit another hat. Stay safe and stay warm!

I’m tahrd. Thus I shall go lie upon the bed and watch teevee until sleepy time.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Irked, came home.

Tao, guess you’re overruled on the Monty Python thing.:stuck_out_tongue:

sticks, sorry about the hornking.

Rosie lives on Lawn Guylandt. **Soapy, **too. I doubt if they’re interested in any kind of waves right now, positive or not.
ETA: Back to irk tomorrow. :grumble:
