Well, feelin’ better now that I’ve downed a Red Bull and popped a Persocet. I’m actually in somewhat higher spirits now, oddly. Still got this infernal creeping cold but I’m not quite so put out by it.
TMI time (warning: poop related):
There was blood in my stool this morning. That was rather frightening. I’ve never had that before. Although it was a very hard one to pass – large and hard – and it hurt like an SOB, so maybe it was related to that. If I notice that again though I might have to see a doctor, 'cos blood in the stool can’t be a sign of anything good.
In other news, ramen for lunch. Good ramen though. Jah Jiang flavour. I have no idea what Jah Jiang is supposed to taste like, but it’s good anyway.
*Over the river and through the woods, to Mother-in-laws house we go." No horse, no sleigh and hubby’s still bummed about missing the funeral. Since he’s working (Overtime yay!) on Thursday, were making Thanksgiving for the old folks today.
Were going to Sequim. I made lemon meringue pies last night.
I woke up this morning to the CO detector yelling about it’s battery, and found HALF on one pie gone! He’s blaming it on the kitties.
You…
you… YOU EAT BIG BIRD???!!!
Murderers!
Won’t someone think of the children?
As evidencied by the amount and frequency of my posts, I’m working on my PoliSci essay. Promise! I just like thinking about it before I start writing, 'sall…
{{Taters}} I second BooFae’s idea that if hubby wants T-day at home, then hubby can do the shopping for it. I can understand if he can’t cook it himself, but he certainly can go buy it himself. (Hmm… maybe the grumpies have gotten to me too!)
Here, Mork: paracetamol, caffeine, honey, chicken soup (real one, not storebought), and a blankie. You’ll have to provide the cozy spot and drinkables yourself, sorry.
Still at work. The light-headedness and weakness passed fortunately. My immediate supervisor offered to let me go home, but I declined. I’m an idiot. But I figure it sets me up for taking the day off tomorrow if I need it. My right ear has fluid in it. It’s irritating, and itchy, and a little painful.
Nava - 'Round here we call that ASA, or Aspirin. I’ve been taking Acetaminophen when necessary. Caffeine is a staple while at work though.
Taxi - Much obliged. I think I’m going to get some considerable rest once I get home. Except for laundry, which must be done.
:mad: I lost my Chocolate Amaretto pie recipe!:mad:
And I haven’t found a similar one yet. It’s been years since I made it so I can’t remember but I think it has cocoa in it, butter, sugar, raw eggs*, and amaretto.
I get the jist of the message as the writer only speaks French, but Google doesn’t translate ‘plusque’.
It’s from some mysterious chick on Facebook, who I suspect to be a scout for scammers. Her previous message was long, and the Google translation was drivel.
lol ok thank you very much my (sic) ses (not a word)too bad morethan I do not speak anything but French
What is the world coming to when French-speaking spammers can’t even manage to spell “mais c’est” as “mes ses”, and forget that perfectly good words like “puisque” exist for when they want to say because instead of morethan. :smack:
So I just set my out of office reminders for both phone and voicemail. SOOOOO satisfying.
Now, off to dinner at my director’s house with the rest of my team, then home to finish packing my bags and finishing up a few last to-dos around the house. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I’m glad you seem to agree that she’s not legit. This sentence above is responding to my response, and I got a tad ‘fresh’ with her. Not enough to get my face slapped, but enough to get some :dubious: from an honest girl.
Sounds like you have something infected, Mork. Teeth and ears and such are bad places for infections. I say: get thee to a doctor/dentist!
Cheer up, rigs. I’m sure shoes will help. Pictures, please?
Don’t give up on socks, taxi. It takes a while to get used to DPNs (I’ve knit 5 or 6 items with DPNs by now; it took several for me to get used to them). Also, the more you knit on a project, the easier it gets (the first few rounds are the worst).
Did anyone notice that mmmmmmmmmm seems unusually cheerful? :D:cool:
Long day - and I got to bring work home with me! Yay! Or not. But first I’m going to JoAnn’s with a coupon.
Howdy Y’all! Ummm… training. Yeah. It started at eight am. Of course I’d already been to work two hours. Ok, it didn’t start at eight. It started closer to nine but we sat in the classroom from eight til then. Then, thirty minutes of trainin’. Break for thirty minutes. Forty-five minutes of training. Then go to lunch until twelve thirty. I went and got oil changed in twuck and got a haircut. From twelve thirty until I left at two thirty, thirty minutes of trainin’. Thirty minute break. Take a test which was supposed to last an hour but I did in oh twelve minutes and made a hunnert. So, I got to take a break until time to go along with most of the rest of the class. We went to the Pubic Sto’ and got coffee, came back and sat around outside cause it was kinda nice. Then at two-thirty those of us who had been there since six am went home and the others, well, I hope they figured out how to goof off the rest of the day.
I have three sweet N.O.T. pies in the oven that should be done in about fifteen minutes. OYKW says it’s no fair he doesn’t get any. What he doesn’t know is, when he gets back from visitin’ family, one will be here for him. I’m a stinker like that.
Thus went my day.
rigs howdy! May you defunk soon.
Taters I trust MrTaters realizes he shall have peel and chop duties at least? Oh and you should insist he at the very least go with you to shop for TDay stuff just to share in the joy.
Have fun Muppet!
I still don’t quite get what mmmmmm’s all excited about. Somebody please explain.
BBBobbio who knows, maybe she’s legit and likes dirty old men.
Feel better Mindude!
CutiePie no haz pie?
HEE! Funniest thing I’ve read all day and that includes trainin’ material even!
Whew! Another long and hectic work day, punctuated by my having to stop at the grocery store and pick up T-day fixings. I managed to find a “fresh” turkey. It’s just tad bit frozen, but is sitting in the fridge.
I would have preferred to get a Butterball, but they only had one, it was 25 pounds and $50.00. I didn’t want that big a turkey because there were only be five of us. Picked up the fixing for all the other stuff I needed too. The only thing I didn’t pick up was dessert. I asked my daughter to get that tomorrow, so it’ll be fresher.
Nice pics, rosie. I need to make dinner now, but I am dead tired. I really just want to crawl into bed and go to sleep.
Aww, thanks for the photos, Rosie. Everyone looks great, and the kids are cute.
Funk-busting vibes coming your way, Rigs!
Oh yea, I think emmms enjoyed her weekend the way it -should- be enjoyed.
I was going to make potato salad tonight, but now I don’t think so - it will have to wait until tomorrow. LOL I am going to bake sweet potatoes, though. So at least they will be ready to make into casserole.
Two down, one to go? I’m confused! Anything else new?
I’ve been thinking about my recipe and it occurred to me that it’s pretty much a french silk pie with some amaretto added to it. Duh. I just hope I don’t add to much amaretto. Seriously. I’ve made the pie in the past and added an extra slosh and it was nearly inedible.
My dad is doing better but his heart rhythm is off, so they might have to install a defibrillator. They’ll know tomorrow after they do another test.
