My friend got his cat drunk once for fun. It took revenge by vomiting in his shoes.
Sometime to keep in mind, I think.

Interestingly enough, I’ve done the same thing to someone who’s gotten me drunk. That was a long time ago but still memorable.
Not long ago, I knocked a beerverage over on the carpeting. In the time it took me to get up, find a towel and start sopping it up, Cuervo had begun lapping away in earnest.
Based upon this scientific research, I can state unequivocally that orange, male cats prefer Stella with their popcorn.
Getting married definitely trumps a visit to The Mothers. So I’ll graciously allow you to have the 18th, on the understanding that I get a future date. I can’t do the 25th, I’ll be out of town for a couple of days; maybe New Year’s Day? As a nondrinker, I may be the only one of this bunch still sober and functioning well enough that morning to start a thread!
I can pretty much guarantee it.
I have joined the ranks of the tp hoarders. The cabinet in the hall has space for 12 rolls, I keep 2 extra in the cabinet in my bath, and Mr. SCL has a paper towel holder in his bath that holds 5 tp rolls. If the cabinet in the hall starts getting low, I run to Dollar General for another 12 pack. I hate running out of tp.
I need to go get dressed for the Coach’s Show.
I suppose then HazNuts would be totally inappropriate then…
OK then, I’ll plan to do it on the 18th. But if you don’t see one by the usual time on Monday morning, go ahead and start one. I can’t guarantee I’ll be thinking straight by then.
Im back from Trader Joe’s. I bought some ginger ale, dog biscuits and some shrimp. It was a tad busy, looked like snow season. I am about to start laundry. Or not.
HazNutty, as a newbie you must send FCM an offering if fine chocolate, and I’ll take a 12 pack of beerverages.
**swampy[/]b, at one point my parents had 20+ in the house.
SCL, The Chicken Dance must be a hockey tradition, we do it here, too.
nipple clamps? : makes note to avoid Dopefests at rigs’ place :
Hmm Firefox spellcheck suggests Oktoberfest as a replacement for Dopefest. They have the right idea.
taxi, don’t worry, I’ll have the cat type something if you aren’t coherent.
Actually, bcc: is a good way to prevent mailstorms as the recipients will not have an “all” to reply to. It’s cc: that causes problems.
Failing that, in our shop we have rules for locking down d-lists if they have more than something like 20 “send to” authors or 250 recipients. We’ve got well over 150 Exchange servers, so it’s hard for one runaway distribution list to kill the system, but I was caught up in a mailstorm about two years ago that thrashed my PC quite hard and crashed Outlook as it couldn’t cope with hundreds of emails arriving per second.
It sounds like someone’s giving me an MRI in here right now.
brappp brappp brappp braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa braaaaaaaaaaaaaaa brappp brappp braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabaaaaaaaaaaaabaaaaaaaaaaa braappp
AFAIK, they’ve not installed an MRI scanner on the server floor, so it has to be just somene drilling holes in concrete, but it’s been very annoying.
ALL.
DAY.
LONG.
Calgon, take me away!
We had another annoying noise last night. Well, the noise itself was innocuous, but it’s what followed that wasn’t.
We’d just gone to bed, when we heard “pssssssssss” Uh-oh! Where’s the dog? Agh! Oh! Jeeez! You just HAD to pour that turkey gravy on her kibble! Gak!
::checks self:: I can assure you that it most definitely would be.
dogbulter, I am but a poor grad student. All I can offer are peanut butter M&Ms and leftover rum. Would that suffice?
Rum is fine with me, but be careful you don’t end up on FCMs List
That Cuervo is one discerning cat.
HazNutty don’t worry about the chocolates. FCM is easily confused, poor dear, so just tell her the Peanut M&Ms are Godiva chocolates. She’ll never know the difference. That’s what happens to those in their senior years. [sub]I am soooooo gonna get a beatin’ for this.[/sub]
Dinner tonight was ham steak, steamed spare guts, gralic smashed N.O.T. and crescent rolls. I do love me some crescent rolls. ACBG came by to eat but had to leave cause he’s up to his hiney in paperwork stuff. Apparently they have a metric buttload of new patients, so he’s doin’ a lot of home visits right now, even though the home health service is “fully staffed.” SNIFF We might not get to have a spend the night night this week.
Snakes, yet another tp convert! Our ranks are growing.
please explain to me why we are making HazelNutCoffee’s nickname so difficult? (Unless I missed any objection to) why not just say “Hazel”?
(misspelled does have 2 s’s btw - it’s mis - spelled)
I used to polka - reading the OP (which I enjoyed) reminded me of the few times I did polka in the early 80’s - bouncing around the dance floor with such energy - and I had to stop and think - was that really me? I cannot imagine ever being able to do that again, but…
I have an appointment to see my orthopaedic surgeon about my knees. Unfortunately it’s not until March 13th - he’s that booked. So I penciled in a surgery date pending his approval - April 23rd. Knee replacement surgery is painful - moreso than hip replacement, but I am starting to psych myself up for it now - it’s intense pain for a short period of time after which I will be able to walk and climb stairs and, who knows, maybe even polka!
No call from the guy this weekend - today my friend says she forgot to tell me that he was away on business last week, but would I like to join them this Saturday for a concert? I said sure (pending finding out about the logistics of the venue - if it’s all stairs, I’ll have to decline)
Work goes by so slowly when I can’t post here during the day - waaah.
Nipple clamps? Isn’t that what they use to hold the pasties on until the glue sets up?
I like your OP FCM. Very evocative. No polkas when I was growing up alas, mostly Boogie-Woogie, big bands, and country music. And Roy Orbison. Makes me miss all my Greats and Grands, though. All that’s left from the previous generation are my Mom, 2 aunts and an uncle.
BTW, happy belated Birthday SnakeyLady!
gotpasswords - Want annoying? How 'bout living in an apartment building where, from early April until mid-December where they are tearing out every single balcony, trimming the overhanging balcony concrete by six inches, then reinstalling new balcony railings. Almost nine months straight of hammer drills, rotary hammers, concrete saws, pressure washers, and other assorted machinery, Monday through Saturday, 8am to 6pm, weather permitting. All because a small chunk of concrete from some other property management company’s building fell off of someone’s balcony in Toronto and hit someone on the head. And I mean a small chunk – no significant injury was sustained, it just pissed the guy off.
Torture isn’t the word.
What you see is 12 gallons of cleaned pecan halves laid out to dry before VWife and I pacakge them. We bought a seal-a-meal this weekend and a bunch of bags. When these dry (prevents molding), we’ll package them in 1 lb lots and sell them to fund Christmas…
They’re Peanut Butter M&Ms. I wouldn’t touch Peanut M&Ms with a ten-foot pole.
I don’t mind Hazel. I just thought the contortion of one’s name was some kind of hazing ritual one had to go through around here. :dubious: (No pun intended.)
That’s just nuts Bobbio!
You do like yanking my chain, don’t you, sugar dumplin?? Incidentally, if you’re the official MMP Dad, and I am, of course, Mom, does that make us…
Mama Tiger, I had said I’d take the first, but you’re welcome to it if you want. So have at it.
Can’t remember who asked, but I don’t know exactly why the radio show was stopped when it was - I’m guessing it had to do with ratings or money. Still, it was a heck of a run - well over 30 years. And Uncle Mike is still alive, kicking, and dancing into his mid-80s. And he’s a character.
I’m all registered for my ceramics class at the junior college - class starts January 25, and I can’t wait. There are now 3 of us in the class - small class = good! I am excited.
Yay!
