The end-of-summer MMP

Cool!

I have to say that I approve

JIM

Do you post better if your shirt is ripped?

Well, that was tedious… I had to go thru all the company policies then send back a signed certification that I’d done so. My favorite was the “Holiday Policy Policy” - yes, that’s how it was listed. I’m now worried about working for these people.

Yes but did you read the Policy on the Holiday Policy Policy? :stuck_out_tongue: BTW MOOOOOOM flytrap wants me to tell you that you could pay somebody to do your laundry. I think he worries about you all stooped over down by the crick beatin’ those towels on a rock.

Steak, shrimpies, sallit and chesey bread for dindin. YUM! Watermelon (the last of the season I fear) for dessert.

I think **flytrap **is worried that I’ll take *him *down to the crick and beat him with a rock… :stuck_out_tongue:

**FCD **is home, as is our car with fresh oil. I’m about to take the towels and sheets off the line. PapaJohn is making supper - my order is in for a 5PM pickup. Yum!

Pizza was good. I’ma go make hats.

MWAH!!

/hugs, chai tea, puppy snuggles and kitty kisses to everyone.

Last night I only got up once with the dog. This is after 2 weeks of being up at least 4 or 5 times between 11-6. I feel so lucky to be out of work during this, lol!

Last night I gave in and decided to re-set up the house so that the kitties have their own room doggy-gated off, and allow the puppy AND the kitties full access to our bedroom at night. This was a huge deal for me, as I’ve always had what I call ‘babysitter syndrome’ and simply cannot go to sleep unless the rest of the house is asleep already, battened down and safe. I didn’t expect to sleep at all, really, what with Big Cat liking to sleep on legs and puppy doing who-knows-what, but I figured MAYBE he’d not bark ALL night if he could sleep in the same room with us.

I went to bed, and of course Mouse followed me in. We have a high bed, and that’s a good thing, because Mouse proceeded to spend the next half hour trying to get up on it with me. I just kept telling him “Mouse, go to sleep”, and had his bed in there in the corner near me. The bedroom door was open; at any time he could have just gone out and hung out with MrTao, who was still up. But no, he wants to be at my feet or as close as possible ALL THE TIME NO MATTER WHAT!! Did I mention I now have 3 animals helping me go potty in the mornings? :stuck_out_tongue:

I was laughing SO hard just trying to ignore his jumping and yipping and obvious frustrated snorts. It was just funny as hell, I don’t know why. He’s such a dork.

And of course the cats were confused, as usually I scoop them off the bed and throw them out at night. Big-kitty was relatively polite, and only climbed on my head once; somehow I managed to sleep around him. Little kitty was nowhere to be seen, probably the only one sleeping totally soundly, someplace else lol. Mouse finally settled down, MrTao came to bed, and…

I woke up at 2:30 because…it was quiet. O.o Too quiet. I couldn’t see Mouse, but it was dark, I’m blind, and he’s half-black anyway. I put on my slippers, got to the bedroom door, and he was right behind me; he probably slept under the bed. He was so sleepy-looking; took him outside, he did his sleepy business, and we went back to bed.

And it was quiet the rest of the night. <3
All you parents had my respect anyway, 'cause I’ve sort of been there, done that with nieces and nephews living with me, but…yeah. I can’t imagine months of no more than an hour or two of sleep in a row.

Dindin has been et (YUM!) and mowage has been achieved on both yahds even! Yep, we got out and mowd. Now we’s all showered and clean. OYKW is upon the bed exhausted and near comatose accordin’ to him. I’s tahrd but not sleepy tahrd. I imagine he’ll be snoozin’ away shortly. I do way more yahd irk than him so it does not wear me out as much. Plus he can sleep for hours on end with no problem. Really.

So that’s Firday evenin’ at da swampcave.

Tao yay for Mouse pretty much sleepin’ through the night.

TGIFIRDAY!

I watched the burning of Zozobra (Old Man Gloom, I think) streaming on the computer last night. It’s the beginning of Fiesta in Santa Fe, and apparently they do this thing every year since 1924 I think. It’s a huge puppet-like creature which looks very much like a Boogeyman and everyone is invited to write up their troubles and add them to the fire. I think. It should have gone off just after dusk, but there were delays, and it didn’t start until nearly 10 pm. The ceremony ended around 11 pm; I just hope that anyone who went up there on the Railrunner was able to get back to ABQ! It was very neat to watch though.

Today for some reason, I decided to listen to the music that was played at my Mom’s funeral/memorial service. It’s been nine years, and I’ve only listened to it a couple of times, because it makes me sad. She personally selected all the music for the service so all of it meant a great deal to her and to her family. As I expected, I teared up again, but the music was all beautiful and I enjoyed listening to it and remembering my Mom. I just know that wherever she is, she is surrounded by the music that she loved so much.

This weekend, I’ll probably make another batch of Eggplant Parmesan and probably roast a chicken on Sunday. I’m also going to get a pot roast and make another Italian Beef some time next week. Boy, that stuff was delicious!

Hope everyone has a good evening tonight. 2gig, thinking of you and sending you hugs, we miss you!

Ugh…din din was family style chinese, with 27 people. There was a lot left over! And because I can’t not taste everything, I am very full. Almost too full…borderline. Booze and sleep sounds good, but going to LA tomorrow for state list testing this weekend, so gotta pack, sorta-kinda. For just overnights I barely bring a change of clothes and call it good. I wouldn’t go to LA if I didn’t have to, so I’m hoping it’s a drive-checkin-sleep-test-drive home and that’s it. No stories, no weirdos, no accidents, just boom and bam and back. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for the concern folks.

I found out at 11am this morning the once very distant hopefully soon to be ex has moved back to the area. She has been avoiding contact with me so I have not been able to complete the divorce.

Instead I will be spending the weekend securing my home and property. She has a history of breaking into homes, and she has already disregarded several sections of our separation agreement. She has mental issues and is a real handful.

If I can get her to sign one single paper it will all be over. If not it’s months of work and a lot of out of pocket expenses. So I am obligated to try to reach out to her even though it’s the last thing in the world I want to do.

This has been a nightmare that never seems to end.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 73 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 89 and maybe rain. Just like everyday. Since da cave is clean and da yahd is all mowed maybe there will be pool time.

gigity just damn! Here’s hopin’ she’ll just sign the paper and get it over with. All I can offer is good luck and appropriate/inappropriate crossed appendages that this is over soon for ya.

Tao good luck on the test! Appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed for you as well.

I have the urge to smoke meat again. “Smoke meat” sounds kinda <snerkworthy> does it not? Anywho, Ima smoke some more chikin today along with some sausages. Good hot Eyetalian sausages. Should be yum.

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. There’s no tellin’ when OYKW may arouse himself. He’s just snoozin’ away and has been since shortly after I posted yestiddy evenin’. Like I said, the man can sleep!

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Morning, up, caffeinated, off to irk.

gigi, good luck.

Tao, good luck on the test.

Chikin and sausages smokin’ away and tummy is fed. Life is good. For now.

**2gig, **I’m sending good thoughts your way.

I’m up and enjoying the peace and quiet. Polar is downstairs with me, and Brandi has gone upstairs to lie next to my husband.

My husband has been having computer woes; earlier this week he he had to go out and buy a new hard drive and he also bought Windows 7. He didn’t really need the Windows, but he’s been wanting to upgrade for awhile. Yesterday, it seems the power supply started failing. It started turning really hot and then the computer would go into power save mode. I told him to turn it off before he fries his motherboard. So, now he needs to get a new power supply. This couldn’t come at a worse time. We’re less than a month out from our trip, and I was going to try and use some of this weeks money as savings toward our trip. Bah. It ALWAYS something around here.

We need to repair a section of fence. I’d like to get it done today, but I have a feeling my husband will be messing with his computer.

We don’t have any real plans for this weekend; for once. I want to get things done around the house and that’s what I plan to do.

giggity - is there someway to compel her, perhaps with police escort, to sign? I’m sorry you have to go through this.

Meanwhile, it’s a dreary, very humid, icky day here. I shall soon immerse myself in more Tennant episodes - I would like to be all caught up before the end of the month. I have two more seasons to get thru, then just a quick review of the Smith episodes and I’m all up to date

That won’t be bad, less than $70.00 and everything plugs in. There are different kinds of plugs, though, so match the model of the PC or the power supply part number.

I smoked some goooooooooooood sausages! So tasty with spicy mustard. MMMMMMMMM… happy bear!

It’s dreary and rainy out, so much for pool time I reckon. However, I feel all smug due to mowage occurin’ yestiddy.

The biggest drawback I see to smokin’ stuff is that the smoker then has to be cleaned. Woe is me.

Yoiks - I was going to say good morning, but it’s afternoon here already. We slept in till almost 9, then went to breakfast in Leonardtown. This was the weekend of the Fall Follies - the craft show I did a few times. It’s shrunk down to about a dozen booths. If we hadn’t gone to breakfast, I wouldn’t have known it was happening. Guess they don’t believe in publicity…

Afterwards, we stopped at a new pet store that recently opened. Amazingly reasonable prices for what seems to be a boutique-type store. I got some cat grass to grow - maybe it’ll keep Taz out of my houseplants (hah!) and **FCD **got a toy for Cozmo. My plans for today involve some studio time. Laundry tomorrow. That’ll be my weekend.

Happy Saturday!!!
