Just out of curiosity, how did you manage to get your user name changed? I’ve been wanting to do that for a while now - the current moniker was a last ditch effort when all my other ideas were taken - but I can’t figure out how to do it.

Well I was sooooo desperate to get rid of my name that I mailed TVeblen, TubaDiva and Arnold Winkelried to get my name change… Arnold got back to me by mail to say it was done, then I just logged in with my regular password and my new name (I did give him two possiblities of new names also).
To TVeblen and TubaDiva, apologies if I bugged you by mailing you also… I wasn’t in the most sane frame of mind last week and I really felt weird using that old ID (even though I did for some posts, mostly cos I just wanted to keep in touch with people).
I just want to say thank you to everyone who has responded to me. I didn’t mean the post as a “poor me” thing, more to inform people that I was changing my name and why.
I think its pretty amazing that people to whom I am close here and people who I’ve never interacted with have come in to say such nice things to me. Its pretty incredible and has really put a smile on my face - well needed I can tell you!!!
Your kindness and the love and understanding of my friends and family has really lessened the pain of this time… as well as the knowledge that, despite the pain, I’ve done what is right for me in the long run.

Pretty pathetic, really. Kind of like “Irving the Vicious”. Just doesn’t work, somehow. I think I need an image consultant, or something.

Dastardly, huh? It has a nice ring to it, but I dunno. It’s definitely not in the same league as Terrible. It sounds like I’d have to go around tying women to railroad tracks and twirling my moustache. I was really hoping for something more appropriate to looting and pillaging. Razing entire villages. That sort of thing.
Tanookie the Terrible works, though. And Flybynight the Fearsome isn’t bad. But, I guess Dastardly Davebear is still better than Branwen the Basically Nice.

But, you could always go with Branwen the Badass. Or, Branwen the Beast, if you’re feeling particularly vile. Or, Branwen the Bountiful, if we’re back to tits, yet.

Update - I was online last night and Rhino logged in. He messaged me and sat there thinking, ok what now… so I just said hi.
He’s having big surgery today (Wednesday) (yes my timing sucks but I didn’t know it was this serious) and wanted to talk to me before he went in for it. He said he felt very bad about how it all ended (he had hung up on me several times) and wanted to say sorry and that he never meant to make me feel how I was feeling.
He asked could we be friends and I agreed - I can’t turn my feelings off like a switch I’m afraid - I still love him and care for him. I asked him to get in touch when he was out of hospital and sent him my love and best wishes for the op.
I hope we can stay friends … we may just work about to be much better friends than we were a couple (though we were a good couple for longer than we were bad one).
Anyways, just wanted to tell those who may interested … I missed his voice so much.
