The End of the Road...An Island MMP

Bah! I’m bored! There’s all kinds of things that need doing around here, but I don’t feel like doing them.

I’m out of books, TV is boring, and I don’t feel like playing any computer games.

I guess I could start cooking dinner…

Oh, I hope they get the dizziness thing squared away for you, Doggio.

Thanks ya’ll for all of the comments on the clothes. Glad that you like them! Rosie I didn’t post a picture of the doll. I was going to snap a picture when I was in the store but she was taken away “for surgery” and was unavailable for a photo.

Thanks for the link Taxi, but replacing the county didn’t help. I did some more googling based on the link though and found was I was looking for.

Here is what I know:
Booking Date: 6/30/2008
Incarceration Reason: Awaiting Extradition
Detainee Description: Warrant Arrest
Charge: 1
Charge Description: HOLD FOR OTHER AGENCY
Charge Level: FEL

So I googled his complete name and found that he is listed in Florida as a sexual predator and failed to register as one. The picture up there is definitley him. YIKES. That’s scary!

McUne: Gah!  I’m glad they picked him up!  A lot of Florida counties, by the way, have a very thorough and easy-to-search public criminal record system. You can check out all his priors, if you really want to.

Good luck with the boat, Taters. I can only imagine how frustrating that must be. People are so rude these days!

I hope the doctor figures out what’s causing your dizziness, Doggio. In the meantime, drive carefully!

Actually, Taters, the unbra is holding up the girls surprisingly well, and they’re not all that small these days. I got the fabric with lycra in it for a bit more oomph – I suspect the 100% cotton would be seriously saggy – and the girls are being held up nearly as well as my underwires do. Hence my pleasure – comfort and support. But first and foremost comfort, since when I’m sitting here at my desk working, most bras get just maddeningly annoying after a while, digging in here or there or pinching my ribcage. I was so happy, I ran to the website and ordered another one. And I plan on ordering a few more; they’ve definitely got my business for the foreseeable future!

I finally was a moderately good girl this afternoon and got some work done. Not enough, but at least I got moving. I’m just hating on this current case so much – an EEO case all because the workgroup this guy was a member of got transferred from D.C. to Kansas City. Oh noes, they wanted to send him to the wilds of the  Midwest! And he had a house here and a kid in school and everything!

Barf. I changed schools 3 times in elementary school, 3 times in junior high, and twice in high school, and I survived just fine. I’m sorry, people get transferred all over the place all the time with no choice in the matter! Heck, before I met him, after 11 years in Guam, Papa Tigs got transferred to Japan in January – he didn’t even own any winter weight clothing, and he was given a whole 2 weeks to move. So I’m finding this guy’s whining borderline intolerable. Especially because this all happened 12 years ago and he stiill hasn’t let go of it! Grow up and shut up, asshole!

…pant pant pant…sorry, sometimes these whiners make me CRAZY.

Anyway, back to work. The sooner I finish it, the sooner I don’t have to worry about my blood pressure any more.

Drive-by…

Vacation. Kid here, FDiL is now ex-FDiL, and she’s playing him like a Strad. Much  and :frowning: right now.

Outer Banks tomorrow, with a trip to Kitty Hawk. Gonna tell VKid to leave his phone at the VunderLair.

Hugs, yeas, boos, and nice kilts as appropriate.

:: vroom ::

I ate too much. I hate when I do that. Off to shower and then read a not very enjoyable book but I started a thread about it so I feel obligated. And who knows? it may get good…

Daughter and I are going to go to the Apple Store on 7/4. It’s a tradition…

Blah, my belly is full of burger.

Mousie says hi.

Sorry to hear about the Kid, VBob. The paperdoll clothes are cute, McUne! And . . . other things, sorry, I did read everything, but I’ve forgotten what I meant to say. I should take notes, seriously.

The monsoon season, after stalling for a bit, has returned in earnest. Ick.

BioTigs I’m glad you’re holdin’ up so well.

BBBobbio I suggest you hide VKid’s cellphone so he can’t take it with him tomorrow. He needs time away. Besides aren’t y’all supposed to go bikini oglin’? The phone would only distract from that.

Hi Mousie!

I have decided that it’s drunken bachelor cleaning night. Thrak just learned that invisible=solid when it comes to windows.

swampy, ex roomie was a worse slob than me. We could have used Guido and Bruce.

Sorry about the kid, Vbob.

: waves at Haze :

::Waves in the direction of Boston:: Hi beebs and mousie!!!

I think snowbunny should just officially change her name to that. Of course, then we’d have to think of a different nickname.

What book, rigs?

Very very cute doll clothes, McUne.

Where’s Nava this week? Thought of her (well, really of her brother) watching German news coverage of the Euro championship. Germans seemed to be remarkably upbeat, even though they lost the final match. Team captain was a bit pouty, but other than that, everyone (fans AND players, it seems) were all happy to have been in the final. They got 100,000 fans or so together to welcome the team home in Berlin yesterday. Quite impressive really. IIRC there were about 500,000 watching the game on Sunday in the public viewing area in Berlin. Here’s a picture. And a video. I’m really impressed that there appear to have been remarkably few incidents where fans got out of control.

Concert was an awesome R&B ensemble. Lots of fun. Also, they played about 20 minutes past the 1-hour mark. It was the best-attended concert so far this year.

Ran into someone I barely know from work. Actually she came up to me and greeted me effusively. My guess: under the influence of adult beverages. Cuz, yeah, hi and all, but really, the 1/2 hug was a bit much.

Guess I should consider beddie bye since I didn’t sleep much last night. Although LiLi slept less, I’m quite sure. Hope Nat’s feeling better.

Hugs to all I missed…

This one, GT.

The Baroque Cycle

I’m piddling along in it. I promised I’d read 100 pages tonight, but wasted my evening on the Dope. I’m just not all that interested in late 17th century England, as told by Mr Stephenson.

Daughter went running and came to the end of her run, saw a fire engine in what looked like the front of our house, freaked out, sprinted the rest of the way home and found out it was just the engine dropping off a fireman who lives two doors down. She said she was scared the house was burning down, despite there being no smoke, flames or other signs of fire.

Hey there to Hazel, our far flung correspondent. Saw WhyNot and her kidlet yesterday–that kidlet is one cute kidlet. Lots of lemon balm was harvested and all went away happy.

I am not changing my name here to snowbunny. I’m not getting that as a license plate, either! (I fully expect all possible variations are taken anyway, this being Idaho and all.) I’m still contemplating Angry Swan, though the swan in question has calmed down considerably. I hope he’ll hate me again next spring in such entertaining ways!

MamaTigs, I looked at those bras and they do look great, but they’re a bit pricey. I might still try one, though.

As far as moving, well, I did sort of pick up and move 2300 miles, and it was all my idea. Your whiner should just shut up and go away.

:: waves to doggie and rigs ::

Off for a lunch appointment, and then to work. All my middle school classes this week are cancelled - it’s finals time for them. It’s fortunate for me as I get to ease into my schedule somewhat gradually.

Night y’all.

My account has been screwed up all day. I couldn’t post, get PMs, saw ads etc…

But I’m back…

Hubby had lots of fun on the boat and had a couple of spectacular wipeouts as well. Then our neighbor took him through the neighbor’s parent’s home right on the shore of the lake. Very, very, *very * pricey area. I guess it’s just beautiful.

He came home to some ‘preciatin’ and is now trying his darndest to keep his eyes from shutting. He’s not having much success. Poor thing is just plum tuckered out.

MCUNE, those doll clothes are cute. I’d like to see the paper doll with one of the outfits on.

VKid definitely needs to leave his cell phone at your house, Bobbio. He definitely needs a break.

Hi Haze! How did the doctor visit go?

I guess I’ll cruise the Dope for a bit.

Hey everybody.

Yesterday was fun. Drunken Wii party = win. We played lots of Mario Kart (and discovered we suck while tipsy) and tennis (about the same) and bowling (strikes galore!).

Today we hung out. Picked up Velociraptor and went to Heritage Park (just the two of us) where he told me he wanted to ride the steering wheel (ferris wheel) but it wasn’t open because it rained. We got to watch a gun fight, raid the candy shop for raspberry drops, and went twice on the merry go round as well as wandered a few places before taking the train back to the main gate.

Then we went back to my friend’s place and had a large supper with these awesome appies… they’re addicting. And now I’m home again and about to sleep.

Oh! And I should be buying my car within the next two days, so this weekend I’ll have to put insurance on it and register it and then wheeee… I’m on the roads!

But here is the appie recipe:

red bell peppers (or if you like a bit of bite, jalapenos)
block of plain cream cheese
bacon

Slice off the top and de-seed the peppers. If using bells, slice into about thumb width ‘fingers’. If using jalapenos, slice in half and deseed. Open package of cream cheese. Slice off some, cut in half, and place on the peppers, munching some as you go. Cut the package of bacon in half and wrap each pepper finger in a slice of bacon. Feed the dog a slice of bacon, being careful not to let him have your fingers. If need be, pin the bacon on to the pepper with a toothpick. Eat whatever peppers and cream cheese that have not been wrapped in bacon.

Cook in the oven (at about 350), on the BBQ or over a fire (just make sure you have a grill over it). Cook until bacon is done, turning so they don’t stick to the pan or catch on fire.

Eat.

Be prepared to make more.

ETA: Congrats gotti!!

Quick howdy on the way to bed, hugs, hoorays as appropriate–I hate rhizomes and mulch–paper doll clothes is teh kyoot, unbra looks interestingly comfy, bacony-peppery-cheezy thingies look nom and make me peckish, I gave up my “special” cookie recipe but I don’t think anybody wants to see it in the Mumper’s recipe blog,  :dubious: :smack:

G’night, allayalls!

Morning all. My boss is still a wanker! More later …

Only two more hours of this before I’m on vacation…

Up again. A much better night.
Nope, rigs, haven’t done anything to the kid except a little bit of painkillers for his theoretically jammed-up ears. He has just been constipated and then had diarrhea for the last five days or so. I think that’s what made Monday night so awful- bad cramps, straining, nothing happened.

Doctor tomorrow. How do you provide fibre for a breastfed infant? And I think it started when I experimentally fed him half a teaspoon of rice cereal.
Anyway, it’s morning, the baby is singing, and we’re food shopping today. Yay!
