Consider this a game, a public service, a bit of nonsense, or whatever, but here’s how it works.
This thread is for people to post ideas you’ve had for threads, which didn’t get used because
a) they would have died immediately;
b) they would have pissed off the mods; or
c) they were a complete waste of bandwidth.
For example:
An entire thread consisting of nothing but the word “bump”.
A thread where consecutive posters’ screen names start with a subsequent letter of the alphabet (Astro, Broomstick, Coldfire, etc.).
A thread using no punctuation whatsoever.
And so on.
So here’s your chance to get it out of your system. Remember, we’re not starting the threads themselves, just posting the concept of the thread. Surely some of you must have had ideas you didn’t follow up? [sub]Someone? Anyone? Bueller?[/sub]
And as a postscript: what better place to mention that this thread was in lieu of the thread celebrating the fact that I’ve now reached 1000 posts for the second time, having had my post count rolled back over the line after the Meltdown this weekend.
I wanted to start a thread where everybody role played their favorite loony. Can you imagine ScOoGuy and Jack Dean Tyler debating if Sid Barret would have gone insane if he hadn’t been circusized? I decided that it was NOT a can of worms that I wanted to open.
So this is really a 2 thousand post party, right? Congrats, and I can relate. I had my big beer bash when I turned legal at 18; I had another one when I turned legal at 21. (They raised the age in the interim and didn’t grandfather anyone.)
I’ve thought about starting a thread on the internal inconsistancies of the TV program Boy Meets World, but as a 40 year old, with no children, mind you, I thought that explaining why I watch Boy Meets World often enough to notice the internal inconsistancies would just be too much for the board to bear.
Or how about a thread devoted to great quotes from the playwright Henrick Ibsen? That would be a barnburner!!
